Here is your proof:
Fixed that for you buddy.
Why would you say this in reply to me asking what did you mean when you talked about “the right to issue permits”? Who is forcing anyone to RP here? Why would it matter whether that’s considered powergaming or not and how is it relevant to anything being discussed?
What was this supposed to be? A link to some other thread? Can you not provide a proper link? Is that supposed to be relevant to whatever it is that you’re trying to say?
LOL. Asking miners to pay a 10 mill/year permit is wanting to turn them into slaves? Don’t you think you’re exaggerating a bit here?
Again, what does this have to do with mining permits or with whatever it is that you’re trying to say? Some miner gankers are alpha and play with just 1 account, not even a separate account for a scout, whereas some miners multibox many accounts themselves too. I wouldn’t be suprised if multiboxing is more prevalent amongst miners than amongst gankers even…
Does this sentence above make any sense to you?
Wait, what? The whole point of his crappy thread with no coherence whatsoever is just to “inform” new pilots that they don’t have to purchase a permit if they don’t want to? And you needed all the “reasoning” above to get there? Oh man…
The words were written, but they lingered, echoing in Knowledgeminer’s dusty brain. He found himself waking in the middle of the night, covered in sweat, fantasizing that he saw Aiko beckoning him with the grace of a true princess. He saw visions of great miner fleets, skiffs and orcas and procurers, piloted not by innocent new players, and he found himself yearning to burn them all with fire.
Now, if only you would want to be my girlfriend… maybe that would be all I need to be completely seduced… but I’ve been told you’re taken…
That sentence was wrong to phase it one side like that meaning that Alliance members have the right to roleplay but have no right to force their roleplay into everyones game time.
A old discussion about powergaming that can be seen as either one playing many accounts and another way with one player controlling the actions of many players, ie in the form of you do this my way only
It is what it is, powergaming to have others work under your control for x amount of their time to sum up the fee of such permit. It would be different if that Alliance were to remove the fee for such permit and that way more pilots would consider joining in on that role play.
The Code clearly appears to have been written by someone who wanted to control more than one account.
Invited those behind this permit to come forward and speak up.
I see that this term has been used instead of ‘god modding’ which is a great pity because
makes more sense.
/me grumbles about youngsters redefining terms.
Oh yes, good choice though I wouldn’t start saying that Alliance members are controlling others within their roleplay without limits or boundaries.
Reason I used powergaming instead.
Indeed, James 315 is known to have controlled more than TWO accounts!
“Democratically elected.”
According to what I read in your website james just literally declared himself leader because he somehow judged that “general people does not deserve to vote because they are not wise as himself.”
This is a disgusting, elitist perversion of any “democratic” system, but literally every bit of code is designed to be obnoxious.
James did not declare ‘himself’ leader. The shareholders elected him. Several elections were held on these very EVE forums, and all miners had the opportunity to participate.
TL;DR of the whole thread.
CODE. are free, by the rules of the game, to run an extortion racket; and they’re willing to use their resources to force the compliance of others. Compliance includes some common sense rules in any game where people can shoot each other in the face.
Nobody needs to pay CODE., outplaying them is their potential targets role in the dance.
It’s 1:30am here and you’ve just made my day before I’ve even hit the sack.
Tell me about it, the kebab shop down the road is packed out.
I really shouldn’t be doing what I’m doing where I’m doing it in the state I’m in.
I’m actually surprised I can string a sentence together.
Drunk postin’ best postin’ ?
Its just like how that Gravenstein guy and Knowledgeminer said.
Code are free to form their cult and rackets.
Gankers are free to gank.
I am free to oppose them.
I am free to challenge what they believe.
That is all.
Hey, you’re free to do whatever you like providing you wear protection and burn the photos man. I’m not judging.
Many have gone before you, many will follow.
I’m a hisec miner and industrialist, I have no permit; they’ve never bothered me.
Primarily because I’m hard to catch, even harder to kill and the loot fairy will make sure I’m unprofitable to kill in the first place; and I don’t do silly things like go AFK in a game where others can shoot me in the face.
Imagine a game where people thought AFK play was a ‘playstyle’…
