Oh yes, they are usually overzealous with lots of ideas about “optimising” our income, tracking permits and in general don’t get the humor of it. They usually quit pretty fast and become the “former fan” type rebels.

In all honesty that the biggest reason I would never fit in with CODE. If you’re having fun with it then seriously, more power to you, but many reactions that I’ve seen just make me cringe, especially the over-the-top rage and death threats! I mean, good grief, you’d think the ganker had been torturing puppies, the way some people react! (ಠ□ಠ)

It’s not a schtick, that’s what some people don’t understand. We actually believe this, so of course it’s not always a ‘funny’ joke or entertainment, because for us this is just like constantly having to explain the Constitution to a bunch of illiterate miners.

We are just trying to explain the basic facts of history and the legal framework of this civilization, so that miners understand how it came to be that the old empires were dissolved, and the New Order arose to replace them.

Miners often complain that they were never informed or given a proper warning - so what you see as shtick or humorless repetition, this is in fact the warning that miners have repeatedly requested. We aim to please, protect, and serve!

No, the overzealous kind are usually also completely incapable of doing anything at all but talk. And since they always quit just after a few days nothing really happens except some fun in the minerbumping channel. The people who get the kind of humor know what’s going on and are there to enjoy the game.

Fun fact: You actually get the most violent reactions from bumping and not from ganking for some reason. If you kill them most of them don’t even react. If you bump them they almost all completely explode. I find this very fascinating.

Really? That’s weird, it’s not like they’re actually losing anything when they get bumped. Hell, there’s a guy in Kothe that goes bumping at the ice field there and I’ve never seen anyone explode at him, the most he gets is people keeping an eye out for him and some minor annoyance. I think some of the folks at AMC are even a little fond of the guy!
