That would be nice. Some tuning. Colors, and… I want my mechanical arms stay visible, i.e. I want vest rather than whole suit. I want mech legs too btw, haha.
Been Killing eligible faction rats tonight, the counters remain stuck at zero. Quitting/Relauncing didn’t fix it. Any hint please ?
All I seem to get are those boosters.
Also, well done CCP. The rat always seems to spawn on the exact opposite side of the station meaning you have to maneuver around the station manually thanks to CCP’s brain dead pathing which has never been able to navigate around collision boxes. Way to bring out the best EVE features.
wait until DT. I will help. Great combination of bug and shitty timers
Same here. Nothing is registering any. No kills, bounties etc. Clearing cache doesn’t help too.
Try running the option ‘Verify integrity of downloaded files and purge all extra files’ in the ‘Shared Cache’ menu of the Eve Launcher.
I believe that will fix the problem. I was experiencing similar issues which I posted here.
Just adding to the thread on a bug I encountered over the weekend.
I completed the 1 million bounty challenge and was waiting on another challenge to reset. It was about 20 minutes after I finished the first one and another 1 million bounty challenge was activated. Not that I’m complaining, but then the second one I was waiting for reset which was the Lucky Clash site.
So I did two 1 million bounty challenges and two Lucky Clash sites for my four challenges that day. It was nice not having to find the specific rats.
So after a week of me doing these events off and on as I stumble across them.
Not really that impressed. One battleship pops in, I destroy it in my Destroyer, or Cruiser… and get a simple 20k bounty and some kind of tank booster.
Not overly useful for me, so I dump them on the market. Total average worth of all of these items and salvage (I am Minmatar I salvage everything). Totals up to around 2-3mil a site.
Not bad, but I usually do better running level 2 missions or higher.
yeah diversity is fine, im just trying to paint a picture of distinct looks here. minmatars always been the improvised inudstrial sort of race that flys old modified mining ships and stuff.
ive always pictured the ammatar as like a dark egyptian race. taking the style from the amarr and mixing it with the african roots in the minmatar and you get a dark space egyptian vibe. they could have more traditional amarr robes but with accents that make it feel more afro root inspired than church like.
im just saying mostly stop making stupid base ball caps and tshirts.
its the year what 22000? why do baseball caps still even exist.
You know the Minmatar aren’t a monolithic ‘ur-African’ culture, right? The Sebiestor appear largely northern Euro (which is why the Matari folklore produces ship names like the Ragnarok, Naglfar, Nidhoggur, Hel, Huginn, Muninn, etc), the Vheriokhor look to be based on the Asian steppe-peoples (Kazaks, Mongolians, etc), and so on?
The Ammatar/Nefantar might well have a kind of Egyptian/North African vibe to them (certainly, the tribal name gives that feel), but you shouldn’t over-generalize.
post character creator overhaul maybe. but they used to all be african. they changed the sebeistor and minmatar is more diverse now than they used to be way back when compared to gallante and caldari who each have the chinese/japanese bloodline not sure what ur-african means though.
but thats larely missing the point of just talking about making more general empire/race specific clothing than just palette swaps with different decals. idk why youre focusing on the african bit so much in regards to traditional clothing when thats generally part of their theme. it would look silly if they wore generic amarr traditional clothing and robes and stuff when they arent amarr. Hence my intital statement of racial and empire specific clothing tailored to each one. i think youre focusing in on the wrong point here. they could have all sorts of original looking clothing that ties into their influences. kinda like the klingons with the warrior/tribal culture stuff. its wasted to just give them a blank tshirt. create some unique assets for them that reflect their culture. it doesnt have to be african but thats just personally something id like to see represented more prominently, idk why you have an issue with that.
newp. Made Arrendis way before Incarna. Those tribal inclinations were all there way back when.
And ur-African means ‘one overarching idealised ‘African’ type’. And you’re the one who was focusing on ‘african’ for Minmatar. All I said was I’d prefer traditional forms of attire. For the Matari, that can range from loose-fitting robes for the deserts of Matar to heavy cold-weather gear for the northern mountains to minimalistic attire from the (originally) seagoing Tribes.
Seeing as historically African and Norse cultures did do quite a bit of trading during the European “Dark Ages”. I can see this is the reason for the combine of the two cultures in game.
And how did we get on this subject?
Combination of normal conversational drift and pedantry.
Some old character concepts for sobiestor can be seen here.
Looks like they were always white europeans. Brutors were less negroidal, so maybe its more about CCP trying to add some more defined races in new character creator.
I’m not a big fan of timers. It’s a fun killer. “Oh, you just enjoyed that activity? Want to do it again? Too bad, wait 24 hours.”
The Lucky Clash sites were all right. Nothing hard. The tank boosters were okay. I ran about 10 sites but chose not to run any further as they weren’t that fun and the rewards were unremarkable. I would score them 5 out of 10 (not bad, not great).
they look kinda brutal maybe they are my kind of girls
Much space savage. Very tribal.
I’m sorry. I didn’t set the schedule.
The UI update bug is something that keeps coming up and we have limited time to fix it as we try to monitor exactly what is causing it. In actuality, it was an issue that was causing the database a lot of strain. When we fixed that, we caused a few other issues. First, the tracking system on certain nodes would just stop updating progress. Fixed that so that it wouldn’t stop despite having an error. Second, had to track down why the error was occurring in the first place and it came back to a problem with a mismatch between the database and the client side data. We have fixed that although so late that the effects were not widely felt during this event. This took us both events to find and fix because there were so many layers to the problem.
These events have had more participation than Shadow of the Serpent and (I guess) we weren’t really monitoring how badly the system was hammering the database. It wasn’t on the edge of catching fire, but it definitely wasn’t within normal operating limits. The issue was not some simple fix and not being able to properly test this compounded it all. See my first point: I didn’t set the schedule.
You are right, having all feedback in one place is convenient. You are wrong, I’m not ignoring it. This feedback thread is just another method of collecting information about the events. Not everyone submits bug reports or support tickets. But we need as much information about where and how things are breaking in order to spot patterns and help us fix the bugs. Is this the best way to do things? No. Given the amount of time, it is the best with what we have.
As for the complaints about the events… the complaints are valid and coupled with our metrics, we are seeing some clear patterns about what makes a good challenge and what makes a bad challenge. Some of this is “duh” stuff but it’s best to test and make sure. I’m not trying to invalidate anyone’s complaints here. If I ask questions and have arguments, it is because I am simply trying to make sure I understand what the underlying motivation behind the problem is. This just happens to be a convenient place for me to have these conversations.
Seems like “tests” belong on the “test server”.
I am sure many are all ready put-off and dissatisfied with The Agency after having a couple weeks of being Guinea Pigs testing them on TQ.
I am sure there are many exact reasons why the Test Server doesnt work for this kind of QA and etc etc blah blah.
I get that okay, but you know what I and the vast majority of "normal everyday non-tech savy just regular players" DO NOT get?
Its why tests arent done om test server and released on Live server when out it isnt broken.
