Actually that is a great point except that CCP wouldn’t be the first business to go bust due to pride, ego and bias in the decision making.
The real basis for your position becomes clear. I agree mate that High-sec and Low-sec needed love. But the way to give them the love isn’t by smacking another area of space. The best way to do this is by you know being creative and actually improving things for that sector.
Economy inflation is a real thing. Governments everywhere plan for it and actually use it as a measure of how strong their economy is progressing. Eve should be no different.
Actually governments used to try and keep inflation between 5 and 10%, now they try for 2-3% inflation. CCP does not have a central bank to reduce the amount of money available for loans, they only have taxes and other isk sinks to control the supply.
High inflation is dangerous in reality and in EvE. Now the problem is that they gave null sec too much, so they have a choice of making risk vs reward more balanced in 1 sector while also reducing the rewards or massively increasing the rewards in the other and as the problem is to do with null, CCP took the best decision and are trying to rebalance Null.
There was no creative way to fix the problems caused by the CSM, Null sec Devs and CCP itself, listening to one small part of EvE over the rest.
I agree mate time will tell. And going back to the website I keep linking I think it is already telling.
Just to make my position clear:
I love EVE. It has been my fortress of solitude for a long time whenever needed
I love Null. I have lived in Null since well before the BoB wars.
I do want EVE to be successful
I do want all players to be able to enjoy their chosen area of space.
I do love conflict that was why I chose to move from Tenal to live in Provi because conflict was never very far and the Aussie contingent there was strong.
I am very firmly opposed to this change because I am of the view that it does not:
If they’d been losing players who PLEX their accounts for years, PLEX prices would have been dropping for years. Stable supply + Lower demand == lower prices.
Well, again, that is not what Hilmar said. He said they had the highest Monthly Active Users in July that they’ve had in 5 years. ie: the highest number of accounts accessed during the month of July this year, compared to the previous 4 Julys.
It’s the stagnation, and supercapital proliferation. None of which is addressed by either the Blackout or the cyno changes.
The exact same effect it would have been having without the Blackout.
Ok lets start with saying I was refering to the purchasing of Plex with Cash and the loss of those who do has been happening for a long time. The loss of players who use plex to buy game time is a lot less of a worry.
It’s great you all are countering this guy but he clearly doesn’t care. He either is plexing 5000 accounts and wants to play alone or he can’t understand anything reasonable … I get what most ppl say or even when they counter my own view points. I love a good debate… I don’t want to call anyone dense but he doesn’t care about facts… I hope he’s just an employee trying to spin this bs if not I’m sorry to all. I’m preparing for the worst at this point and I think eve is awesome just not on its current path.
I don’t follow your logic here. The loss of any paying customer whether they are paying cash subscription or by the cash turnover to eve store for plex purchase is a down turn in the cash inflow to EVE Online. This will in turn affect decisions about it’s the games financial viability.
Let me make it simple for you … the loss of players is bad mmmkay.
they are not paying cash. They are merely providing in game isk for the player with cash and if 50% of the in game plex buyers left today Plex would still be worth a fortune, because there are not enough players using cash at this point.
Dont know your null sec history
I will put it this way. Dont think I am too far from the truth in saying that every pilot operating in null sec is an Omega pilot. I also dont think I am too far from the truth in saying that every pilot in null sec has at some point bought Plex, not necessarily on a regular basis, but every once in a while. What do you think will happen with null sec pilots leaving? CCP will lose money, game will be shut down, and Alpha and other Omega pilots in high sec/low sec are not going to replace the commitment null sec players have toward the game, and those pilots are not going to replace the amount of money spent by null sec players.
you are no where close to right. a lot of players in null have Alphas. As to null sec players buying plexes, with the theme park that is null, so much isk is made a lot of players have not paid their accounts in cash in years.
As to the rest thats the usual Null sec rant that has existed every time CCP threatened any real re balance in Null and it is good to see them ignore it and actually try to fix the game.
Well, if you have all the data, lets as more questions. How many players lost were bots? How many were Alpha clones? Also if you look at the graph there a high and a low point every year, so is that taken into account? Your questions are tainted and built to push a narrative.
They can ignore it at their own risk. Players are leaving or simply unsubscribing and not logging in anymore. As far as the null sec players making tons of isk, guess what, null sec players spend also lots of money.
At the end of the day, money talks. if CCP wants to make money they will need to get some balls, apologize for this debacle and get local back at the very least.
Payers have been unsubscribing since 2010 when EvE started the whole over reward Null thing. They did ignore it and just kept turning null into the safest place in EvE. Now they are trying to fix the risk vs reward and restore the health of the game.
I am sure some null players spend money, but a hell of a lot more use plex of the markets to pay for their accounts.
Given the Backout has gone on for this means it is more likely that they your predictions are wrong or they are looking at the long term health of the company and more bowing and scraping to null is not it.
