LOL. I think it’s just the opposite–it’s entirely about long term goals of there still being a game in 5 years. Not one that degenerated into new players being completely unable to even consider NS because they don’t have 20 titans stored in one of a thousands of Keepstars that would exist by then. This way, with even more draconian limits such as maintenance fees on caps (e.g. like structures have), and significant risk they build a game with players willing to take risk, one where ships other than caps might matter, a game where the riches of a risk free NS don’t completely dominate the entirety of New Eden.
I sincerely hope CCP sticks to their guns–and goes even further — prices are changing to reward the extra risk, good corps are adapting and picking up new players to replace the ones unwilling to dock and the game it becoming more dynamic as a result.
Please. Spare me. I’ve spent my career in nullsec. Fleets. Roams. Whatever.
HTFU or give us your stuff. If your argument is based on attacking others you lose and just come off as a whiner.
I JUST came back. Have to find my place in the game. Been waiting for CCP to make changes like these.
But I’m sure you’ll just whine more. Hoping CCP ignores you and those who can’t adapt.
Been playing since beta. Seen lots of changes. But most of all the weak ones like you complain and go.
Good riddance.
More, way more than enough to judge, of course.
Good luck in High Sec, the Null you think would give you the edge with the BO help, does not exist. You did not adapt back then, will never adapt to this.
But as usual, you have the benefit of doubt. Let us know how it worked for you once you subscribe 10 more accounts (or one) and spend three months in game for real. We will be waiting. For now, I understand you 100%.
My argument’s based on how things actually work, and how people actually behave. But if you want to go and get all snippy because someone’s pointed out that your experience with nullsec under the Blackout doesn’t show a vast interaction with anyone else? Then you just go for it, man. There’s a difference between attacking you, and highlighting something you’re clearly… sensitive… about that doesn’t actually have anything to do with you.
Nullsec is emptier these days. And it feels even emptier than it is, because you can’t see anyone in local. That’s not about you. You don’t have to get defensive about the fact that when you step outside the areas run by the blocs, there’s nobody there.
I’m not going anywhere. The Blackout’s been good for us, and the August numbers show it. That doesn’t mean it’s good for the game. That doesn’t mean it’s going to address any of the actual problems the game has. And ignoring the people who’ve been highlighting those problems for years is exactly what got us to the current level of stagnation.
Adapt to what? Life in fleets? It got old.
Now maybe better chance for small gang roams.
Vs keeping status quo where nothing changes.
So tell me who’s not adapting?
No, you have not and will never read all. It’s too late for you as your judgement was already stated.
A bit more less uncertain… less uncertain = more certain?
Schrodinger’s cat would have a field day with this statement.
Less secure for doing what exactly? Mining, ratting?.. ah we agree then. Getting easy kills? or Pro Level PVP as you’d call it? nope. No targets anymore, not easy as you think. PVP with your friends… ah there is still some, concentrated somewhere out there. Is that your same turf? Why did you leave then?. Too many questions? Please don’t answer. I’m just illustrating your post is premature I don’t want to know you.
Tell you what:
Breathe in - breathe out. Wax on, right hand. Wax off, left hand. Wax on, wax off. Don’t forget to breathe, very important.
That’s not ‘going on the offensive’. That’s pointing out that you haven’t killed or been killed by anyone since you got back. You haven’t interacted with people in null. Do you see me saying ‘you haven’t been out here’ or ‘you’re a liar’ or anything like that?
You haven’t gotten in a fight. I have no reason to doubt that you’re out here looking for one. So why haven’t you found one? Well… as everyone who is out here knows… there’s a lot fewer people to shoot. The space is fukkin’ empty, man.
And … yes, it’s been good for us. Once again, I refer you to Noizy running the numbers (and if you were at all active in null in 2012-2016 the way you say you were, and your corp history like 4S and HIRR shows, you should have a clue who Noizygamer is) for August.
Nullsec outside of Delve: -38% NPC Bounties.
Delve: +2%.
We’re making more money. Yeah, that’s good for us. My own ISK isn’t dependent on activities the BO can even begin to impact, so my personal balance sheet doesn’t factor into my opinion of it at all. But my space-job is kinda dependent on the long-term picture for Goonswarm, and the BO, the cyno changes, the taxes… those don’t hurt us. We’ve got the manpower for cyno alts. Our gate-camping titans have less to worry about from dreadbombs now. We don’t use NPC stations for our markets.
The idea that these changes will magically break up the stagnation in null is idiotic. The stagnation in null is due to systemic issues these changes do nothing to address. Nothing at all. And that’s not good for the game. CCP needs to address those problems. They need to address the structural issues they put in place that result in an endless cycle of minor flare-up followed by Cold War-esque retrenchment and stockpiling, without the stockpiles ever actually getting depleted.
Not really sure. We don’t tend to have simple metrics for that, but I could ask Atrum how the SRP requests for home defense look[1]. Every time I’ve hopped in Theta Squad’s comms to listen to the standing fleet, it’s just nerds bitching about nerd stuff, same as always.
1 He’s probably going to tell me something along the lines of ‘I don’t care’ or ‘who knows’ or some such. I mean, honestly, it’s more paperwork for him to generate, and we already have hours of weekly staff meetings and other crap on top of actually doing our space-jobs, so… I’m a bit loathe to make the space-job for a game even more ‘job’ and less ‘game’.
Nah don’t bother… I just thought that it’s a representative item, IF there is less of a drain for your finances under BO. We’re not doing very well. But as you may suspect, I’m a little bit to the east. You could say, we live by the day in some aspects. Thanks
Well, Elwah time will tell if it was the right decision or not, but regarding the titan supercap issue you mentioned in your post, I can not see how the blackout or the cyno changes are going to change anything at all regarding this problem.
The way I see it those changes will only work to solidify that problem even further since supers will be risked less than before hence they will die less.
The ‘small guy’ without sov will still not be able to acquire them and still have no leverage against the big groups.
It’s Labor Day in the US. People are home in EUTZ. Check previous years, the first Monday in September normally posts pretty much identical to the day before.
And pray, can you actually eludicate what the problem really is? What makes nullsec so stagnant? Real root cause, mind, not a mid-level complication like ‘there’s too many supers’.
It would seem you are enjoying the blackout? - Mind telling us all what exactly you have done since returning?
What is it about Blackout you are benefiting from?
How do you see BO benefiting your return to the game?
Sadly you are right about recruiting - The large dominating groups are growing at a rate never seen before - Which even short term isn’t at all dynamic.,.
Goons are recruiting - It is after all one of the few places in Nulsec now that has any content.
