May I?.. I think there is no threat, I don’t believe there is an entity out there refreshing threats because of the BO, nothing new and nothing changed. There is not much to fight for. SOV warfare is still used as bait and there is not enough will to follow through. No one wants to obliterate whats left of content.
I feel too lazy to login and check. Can anyone tell me if BO still goes on?
Yes
Given the number of countries who have now given tax cuts to corporations and the wealthy, which are unsustainable over the long term, the current Null sec players reactions to having their theme park repaired so risk is closer to reward would make a great economics paper of the reactions of the entitled.
I hope the CCP Economist does a paper, it would be a fascinating read and a great guide for what will happen in the future.
On the funny side, now you tell a Null sec player to HTFU by going to play Hello Kitty.
Which is not at all what’s being done, even if it’s what CCP’s trying to do, but you feel free to continue not understanding how this plays out in the long run.
There hasn’t been one since Dr. E left like 5 years ago. Quant wasn’t an economist, he was a quant, and Larrikin’s a data guy, but he’s not an economist, either.
Well that explains how Null got so far out of whack.
The problem’s a lot older than that, and more systemic, as I’ve indicated multiple times.
http://eve-offline.net/?server=tranquility
look at 6M or older graphs
since BO and after skilling spree the player numbers are in free fall
there is nothing to discuss
its a clear fact
hope the 100 BO trolls enjoy empty universe
I am sure they will adapt.
Adapt or unsub
Sadly that seems to be exactly what is happening - People just aren’t logging in, people don’t log in for long enough they find other things yo do with what used to be Eve time.,.
Adapt or Unsub is the response of someone who had no idea what is happening in the game.,.
I think we’re already seeing the BO consequences in full effect* but I would advise to step back and see the bigger picture. Keep in mind these numbers are still contaminated by the SP diarrhea and all other promotions.
It is the “chaos era” what we will end up reviewing 3 or 4 months from now.
That doesn’t mean that right now we cannot see if it’s good or bad. We are witnessing bad trends so far and 6mo from around the phuktard chaostrocity started is a good round lapse from which no one can escape. No “lets wait for whatever MER” or any similar BS.
Looking it from a wider time frame will also include the effects of the upcoming cyno changes and then there will be no excuses but I suspect it will be the same silence from CCP and void in leadership from the customers for not having a common, coherent and unbiased voice. After all these years, the only thing that never happened, is communication with customers. CSM is just a symbolic gizmo to mimic some sort of connection or commitment, that’s it. And has little to do with players and nothing with customers.
Probably I won’t be there. I’m trapped in the renewal cycle of my last accounts which is ending in November and I don’t think I will renew.
I am not as optimistic as other voices out there talking about possible great, big things coming to EVE because also you must count backwards from next winter. You have to consider that any company will leak information in advance about improvements or expansions for the case in order to create or increase hype, so by November I should know if it’s worth it but for sure, any renewal will be monthly based so I won’t get stuck again.
I don’t remember when the last true EVE expansion happened. Not for not paying attention or having bad memory but because some didn’t really look like expansions. I guess the industry has no standard for that and pretty much anything can be made up as such.
So, I cautiously look forward to winter but there’s a reserved prognosis. I guess next month we will begin hearing whispers of whatever is coming.
So far there are rumors but keep in mind that summer, late fall and winter are regularly preferred by MMOs to launch their new toys. IMO Those rumors don’t seem very promising for EVE as new blood bait and the summer is lost.
What happened to Cicada?.. After his latest posts I thought he was here to stay for a bit and tell us more stories, talk about his thoughts after hearing ours… I’m a bad hombre. I always think bad things first and am a flat skeptic. So, I guess it’s not gonna happen.
- There is still some time to see the full Blackout effects clearly but since we’re currently entering in a narrow window between promotions, SP gifts and the upcoming cyno changes, there is not much left to extract data from.
I wonder if MMO’s news outlets will one day review EVE’s “chaos era” as the first ever summer contraction launched in the industry’s landscape.
Chaos Era look as a study case for futurer Developers
Welll dogggy looks like eve is going by way of the dinosaur thursday night and 15000 online thats not good. Congrats on the Blackout huuuuuuuugeeeeee SUCcess
They are too busy having party’s around the world to care
But that 15.000 is the elite pvpers (mostly). The bears, ones who cannot adapt, whiners and bots are gone
no bears no targets duh
and by the way i started eve in 2006 so bear my arse
That 15.ooo may also be the returning players, right? I remember hearing lots of ex players are now back due to BO
