Except for the fact that it does not require players to buy them off the market, an algorithm could do that.
What CCP needs to listen to is people with cash, not people that can be replaced by code.

So you and your five friends are going to keep eve afloat by buying 5k worth of plex and selling them to npcs each month?
I was right - you ARE this forums special snowflake
Worthless wallet warrior doesnāt get that EVE is about the economy first and conflict arises around that. Less toxic griefers like you and EVE would have more than enough real players to more then make up for the financial loss of not having you. Not so much the other way aroundā¦
Not sure small gangs ganking noobs in npc nul and lowsec was CCPās focus with the BO but glad to see you are enjoying it.
Go to pretty much any station in highsec that has hauling agents (lvl 2 & 3 seem to be favs), sit and watch. It may take a while but eventually you will see 20 or 30 badgers all warp to and dock up in that station. 2 minutes (or less) later you will see the same badgers undock and all warp off in the same direction, only to repeat the process around the clock.
No they donāt make what many nul bots do but it is obviously enough to keep them doing it.,.
I was talking with one of the major market traders and analysts behind EVE Mogul earlier, and we were looking at PLEX volume. Not prices, mind, volume. The reason that matters is because when volume gets low, PLEX bulk sellersāwho generally have a significant cushion of the things so they can run for up to a month if need be without new purchasesāstop buying them. Thatās the direct loss of real money to CCP.
I ran the numbers for PLEX volume after a week or two of the Blackout somewhere upthread. When I did that, there was no appreciable drop in demand. Everything was still holding, intact. On Jul 14, for example, there were 2,896 orders up, and 1.45M PLEX changed hands. Thatās roughly in-line with Dec 12, when 2,690 orders moved 1.55M PLEX. In the last two weeks, weāve seen the prices drop again, but weāve also seen the volume start to crater. Two days ago, there were only 1,817 orders, that moved only 870k PLEX.
On the 12th⦠according to the Market graph Iām looking at right now, the data doesnāt exist⦠which is damned peculiar, but it might just be because of the upcoming DT. Either way, weāre seeing a reduced trade volume of PLEX, and sellers donāt buy what they canāt move[1]. Which means, yeah, in the last 2 months, weāve seen the amount of $$ CCP is getting from PLEX cut nearly in half.
On the face of it, thatās worry for CCP. But that could be a sign of something worse. If that same drop-off in traded volume is happening on other items (as it appears to be happening on T2 Arty), that makes EVEās economy more and more fragile, like an alliance bleeding out people, but keeping the well-known FCs smiling and waving to the public.
1 Itās the same reason tax breaks donāt work to stimulate hiring during periods of low demand. If I can sell 100 toothbrushes a month, and I can make 50 toothbrushes a month, sure, Iāll hire more people to make 100 toothbrushes a month. But if I can sell 100 toothbrushes, and I can make 100 toothbrushes, no tax break in the world is going to convince me to hire more people⦠because I still canāt move the extra toothbrushes theyād make. Iād just end up with a building stockpile that has to be stored. PLEX sellers donāt buy what they canāt move.
Except that is the market side. If a large alliance was storing plex, the same would show. Less transactions.
Again the amount CCP is making from plex only CCP knows.
Man u are either troll or delusional. Iām part of Initiative (u know the part of Imperium which burnt PanFam to the ground) and our activity has dropped by a lot too. FCs donāt get fleet numbers, most of our sov is not used anymore and anything below cap is not worth undocking because our space is under constant raid by covert ops gangs. If one of the most powerful alliances is half-asleep then surely less powerful must barely live. Get head out of your ass and come live to nullsec keyboard warrior
You donāt quit, do you?
I have plenty of cash, I can and will carried few players that plex their accounts. I bought plex with cash and sell to them as long as they are doing the dirty work mining and ratting for me.
What is wrong with my cash?
I am the people with cash⦠did CCP listen to people like me? Yeah, right.
There are of course exceptions to every statistic.
All that proves is that, well nothing really.
So what you are saying is that a use based sov would mean that you would be losing territory now, like you should be.
Lol? We donāt lose territory. We just donāt use it. You are like priest talking about sex. Move your warrior ass to null and try ratting under BO then talk
I said āa use based sov would mean that you would be losing territory nowā
Now I am sorry if being an F1 jockey means you do not know how to read but what I was saying is that Null needs a use it or lose it system based on usage, not on some structure.
lol you walking joke.
Worry about that when null has enough players to have one person in each system again, ok?
Conāt loose sov noone wants to fight over.
There are whole wastelands unclaimed already but somehow no1 is willing to do so. BO didnāt repair anything because it didnāt tackle the most important thing and selling point of Eve - Sov warfare. Your t1 hauler ganks mean nothing in the big scheme
Actually CCP seem to have realised that players who pay cash are what matters in the big scheme, not the loudest players.
Right⦠Stop doing everything Hilmar says dude - dougs aint good for you.
Hi,
Myself (Strat) and a pal (Astero) recently engaged an Bastion VNI in a Delve anom.
Sadly being slightly out of range for my webs/neuts we were slowly torturing the VNI to death over perhapsā¦3-4 minutesā¦when helloā¦in comes a Proteus. Coolā¦he landed on me in neut range and I went to work on him assuming the usual blob of Delve garbage would descend.
Popā¦cyno. Hello Erebus.
Sadly I went bang as the Proteus hit structure. Fortunately my pal in Astero slipped away.
This was the day before the cyno nerf soā¦yay? First time ever getting deleted by a Titan and dedicated to lil ole me? Good riddance to that nonsense but thats not my point.
Your statement of nobody undocking in Goon/renter space (because really thats what Init/Bastion/random blob junk actually isā¦sorry UKC ) is simply false. I bounce enough WHās and see enough space to know plenty of Imp folks are flying around doing as they doā¦and thatās a good thing.
And an Astero+Stratios is not a ācovops gangāā¦more of a āhey we are scouting WHās and look something shiny in a Delve anom letās poke itā. I could have as easily rolled in with a T3D (that you would moan about)ā¦or an AF (that you would moan about), or any other non-cloaky ship (that you would moan about because āohnoes no localā).
I also cannot help noticing your recent pilot activity has you inā¦a stealth bomber
The sword cuts both waysā¦you need situational awareness (mash dscan sometimes? Maybe be in fleet chat with corpmates?)ā¦I have to dump probesā¦scout chainsā¦and randomly wander around using 13 years of hard-earned probing/dscan expertise to find that silly VNI and bounce it. Oh thatās rightā¦playing the game.
tl; dr: stop bitching/creating false narratives and play the game as it lies. Also lol bragging about being being Init
editIn the interests of fairness perhaps a reasonable buff to nullsec loot might be an easy compromiseā¦but not too much. And before the hue and cry wailing of āohnoes if I wanted to live in WH space I would have blah blahāā¦spare everyone the trouble with that false equivalency please. Imagine if nullsec pilots had to probe/scan their jump gates every few hoursā¦and had no asset safety (that is an idiotic rule but whatever)ā¦and actually had to be competent with dscanā¦waitā¦that actually sounds like fun and actually engaging with the game and fellow competent pilots versus orbit/launch drones/loot/warp to next green thingy!
Took you only 13 years to manage to get goons to drop a Titan on your butt? Yeah the capital menace is really badā¦
But you still seing the people that do stuff does not mean everyone is still here.
I see less people on comms and in alliance chat every day.
to you
Noone in Null asked for this sneaking around bullsh, hence why we didnāt move there despite better money and safety.
No asset safety is only a problem if you store you loot for weeks and months - never thought wormholers to be the kind to be bitten in their own ass by lazyness. I on the other side think frantically pressing d-scan every few seconds is something for trained monkeys, not engaging gameplay.
Well a couple weeks ago they warped a Hel and something else to a gate attempting to blap my Jag/2 pals in T3dā¦but like the Erebus dropā¦a good chuckle on comms and move on. Either way it was a reasonably fun experienceā¦if slightly insane.
The whole issue of capitals tracking sub-caps is another discussion. If its in the gameā¦the Erebus pilot was more than entitled to the kill.
As for less pilots in spaceā¦hard to be precise givenā¦no local .
In seriousness though (and I donāt normally check dotlanā¦we take whatever Bob provides) the more populated regions have actual pilot activity. Perhaps more concentrated in dead-ends but thats always the case. Furtherā¦if pilots are not logging in out of protestā¦their loss not mine as there are ALWAYS targets to be found.
I have no current cause to regret re-subbing my two accounts and find the game remains as entertaining as always.
