Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread - Part Deux!

Who was it whined the loudest???

Funny you know, I really hate to debunk one of your theories once again but.
Was talking to a friend last night in comms - He has been running a ratting carrier in lowsec since BO started, prior to BO he was saving for a super (his first) and estimated he had about 6 months to go before he could get what he wanted.

After 1 month ratting in lowsec, with the same carrier he used every day in NUL, he now has enough to buy a titan (which was his next goal) and his much coveted super.

Is it time for CCP to kill of local in lowsec so players can’t make exorbitant isk?
Lowsec yields Far more isk P/H than the average guy can make in nul, using the same ship type.

Personally I don’t think it was a fail at all.
To their credit, for the first time in a long time CCP tried something that was outside the box - Sure it may not have got the results they were hoping for but at least they tried.
Lets hope the next thing they try has better success and is targeted toward some of the real issues with current Sov.

I was no fan of BO but…

seems to me the whining cowards were the ones happy to kill defenseless miners and run when actual pvp ships showed up Go ahead, take another break from the game until CCP makes it easy for you again.

You never actually ā€œreadā€ my posts before replying to them do you.

PS; If English isn’t your first language so translations are hard, then I’m sorry but if that is the case PLEASE find someone who can read and understand simple English BEFORE you reply so badly

IF you ever actually read any of my posts, you would know I am primarily an indy guy who PVP’s for fun… BO was bad for me.,.

It seems like half of them say I like the blackout because it suits my playing style. The other half says he makes my playing style impossible and has to leave.

Please finally learn that there is more than just your playing style, think outside the box and learn that one playing style can’t exist without the other.

As a participant of the G-Fleet (EVE Berlin) I can tell you that the developers want and have to do justice to every playing style.
From conversations with two Dev’s I can tell you that there will be more changes in the future.

A local with some time delay as a compromise between the different styles exists as an idea. However, with the current code it’s always such a thing.
The bottom line is clear, changes in the local will come, there are several ideas, but what will come is not clear yet.

What?

This isn’t going to magically start a major war in null. The Blackout wasn’t stopping any major wars. What’s stopping really major wars remains supercapitals, and how little any group can afford to lose them. The perception that CCP will make significant changes in a very short period of time also dampens anyone’s appetite for a major war, and this announcement: ā€˜hey, yeah, Blackout’s over in 2 days, and there’s no news article or devblog on it’ doesn’t help dispel that.

I will hold my breath until he returns, Not!

It all depends on your definition of fail. This debacle could have been avoided if instead of them being dumb, they would have first released the intel towers. But now that they screwed so bad, next time they even dream about something as dumb, I would strongly suggest for @CCP_Falcon, @CCP_Lebowski, @CCP_Fozzie, @CCP_karkur, @CCP_Masterplan, @CCP_Antiquarian, @CCP_Hellmar to explain in painful detail every reason, every stat and each thinking behind their supposed genius idea…

Yea, changes are always to be expected, but this BO is probably the dumbest idea the numbnuts over at CCP could have come up. And CCP better have a god damn good explanation for any future changes because thanks to their stupidity and how dumb they have acted on this BO (including the bs interviews over at TiS), I would argue they have lost any equity they had with the majority of the pilots

Not ā€œthisā€.

Since the BO began, when I heard that statement of making it hard for group A and easy to group B, I took it exactly as what developed into.

ā€œThisā€ is BS.

To me what matters and why I speak about war is that the whole deal has divided players when it was totally unnecessary.

That this chaos could be so good, but in order to do it the right way, would and has proven to be a difficult task.

I don’t think there will be more actions from CCP cloaked by the ā€œchaosā€. So far, I have not seen but one. The rest is just devs doing what they’ve always done.

But having this division was wrong. Maybe not a war but when people are divided, something happens.
Perhaps it will not be THE MAJOR WAR… but just some increase in PVP at the borders . The small entities most affected by BO can very well call it war, it won’t make it to the news but everything is relative.

The problem is thanks to the CCP idiots, many small entities either collapsed into larger ones or simply shut down…

IDK maybe you thought I was talking about war between donutbrellas… in which case, no… it’s a confrontation of classes what I refer to.

The damage is done. Null is now open for business and all I see is hunger and teeth.

See, swearing doesn’t make your point get across better. You just look a little dumb.

So you looked at the data then…

well it was an experiment. ccp is a company. they look at data. they have to implement controls in order to get accurate data… cant just blackout for 3 days and expect accurate data on the blackout. Gotta get past all the crying and peel the layers back in order to see what remained.
That being said… regular local sucks. need to delay local

Well blackout is ending apparently.

No sorry bout that, no sorry we screwed your indexes. Just some lame saying about the weather.

Well CCP here is what the blackout meant for me

  • I have lost eleven kg’s
  • My Karate and Tai Chi have super improved
  • My fitness and strength coming back

So thank you for the black out it did me more favours than you realise

Will I be resubbing? I will let you know in a few months with some saying about the weather.

I agree with you.
Part of my decision drive about EVE will be whatever CCP says next and how quick.

Someone just behaved like an a-hol and I’m not taking that no more. Not while it’s my money.

According to @Arrendis, CCP (or at least Falcon) is too busy getting drunk and wasted to even care about posting an official announcement and make it an exciting announcement, similar to their BO announcement…

Yap, I’ve read that.

I honestly don’t give a F if som1 gets drunk. It should have been Falcon himself with Hilmar giving the news. Their backpedal started with the wrong foot but I can accept that it was as rushed as dire the situation is.

It’s called accountability. I don’t expect anything but the right thing, the right attitude from CCP.

If they are too full of themselves, well… adios amigo.
