Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread - Part Deux!

Yes. Someone asked if there was a loss.

CCP Answer: No. There is not.

Further, even when grouped, to-hits are calculated per gun, resulting in no difference in the number of wrecking shots.

Let’s review what YOU said:

8 individual calculations are being ran to see if they hit the target, or critically strike the target, and your arguing that there is not a performance loss because they are magically grouped?

Sigh.

Reroll the weapons to 1 for all types like abyssal ships, the game performance will improve. Im done arguing about this its clear you do not know what your talking about.

I told you the to-hit rolls are per-gun some half a dozen posts of your bloviating nonsense back. It’s not news to me.

The math is cheap, however: The most complicated portion of it, the tracking math, is identical for each gun. They don’t run the whole tracking equation for every gun - they:

-run it once to get a tracking value
-roll X values to apply to the tracking value for final hit/miss/wrecking
-sum and apply.

If you think that middle step of RNG application is, in totality, a substantive portion of load in a 4000 ship fight, it’s time to turn in your dev creds.

Back to the part where you said:

He is saying if you have 8 guns apart, there is an increase in chance that some may wrecking hit.

When, actually, he said the exact opposite of that, if you would.

Back to topic pls

Blackout is wrong was topic

Blackout is pretty much the best thing to happen to the game in the last 5 years.

Ironically, just a few months ago i was advocating for this change, my threads blew up and i was told “this is a horrible idea”.

Little do the trolls on the forums know. These forums are full of people that speak out of their backside with no inclination of understanding. Arrogant, egotistical are the most common traits of people on the eve-forums.

Please let everyone know what dev teams you’ve been a part of, Naari. I think we all would like to point, laugh and avoid like the plague. I would expect software touched by someone this dim to be the Tsar Bomba equivalent of malware at this point.

You really go out of your way to double down on stupid, don’t you?

Hey were you one of the people that was saying just a few months ago “the devs will never listen to your horrible idea’s” ?

I just want to point out the thread we are in…
#yourwrong?

For starters, I doubt it. Secondly, are you really so arrogant and stupid that you’re claiming Blackout to be your idea? Thirdly, if you can’t even get your and you’re right, you really need to stop posting. You’re embarrassing yourself.

“My idea” that would depend on if they implemented it exactly as i said, but i doubt it. I do know that my recent war-campeign against the evil tyrants of eve (ie super powers of null) was largely heard well by the ccp staff when the blog i wrote went viral over night.

Im pretty sure i had something to do with it considering the very limited time-span it took to be implemented after said events. It happen very rapidly, and well when have we seen ccp do things rapidly?

=X

I don’t do internet grammarz wars. I dont care if you dont like that i say your, and you’re. Tbh, its an act of desperation on your part, btw, ill continue on my path of how much your a child.

Very funny to hear that from people living in high in NPC corps .

I am genuinely amazed at the ego. It’s like watching a discount Mittens, but slightly retarded.

Okay, just in case you’re just not familiar with such things: Go look at their corp history, and their name, and then go smack your head against a wall for a bit, because that’s one of the most obvious alts in all of history. The name alone is a blaring klaxon with warning lights that the character is a trade/hauler/indy alt of some sort running below wardec radars, and those tend to belong to people making their main living in low and null.

Wait - I just had this idea. What if the demiurge and Falcon already have a new job and will make the carebears come back when they leave CCP while the hunters that resubscribed during the blackout are all still there?

I think the CCP analysis of players venturing out and trying in spite of the blackout isn’t wrong. I just think they missed the motivation. It wasn’t because one guy went out and then another etc *herd mentality) Its because many of the players have long term subs and hate to see their investment and prepaid time wasted. So they try. but they are disgruntled and feel cheated. This does NOT create a welcoming playerbase that eagerly helps new players. nor does the excited group of returning PVP players anxiously awaiting new targets. HI welcome to EVE , booom
This model is not sustainable no matter how happy CCP Hilmar and Falcon are atm

I’m a developer too and you read more like a clueless wannabe clown to me. You must be one of those hipster JavaScript devs.

Well now it’s at least clear where CCP is going.
Destruction of the production capacity of players, the largest share of which was made in the zeros. Destruction assets and ships, the main-the destruction of industrial ships.
Bring players to the poor state, which in order to fly through space, will be forced to buy PLEX.

In addition, players begin to divide into smaller organizations. With them, and less trouble, and will not be able to demand a lot. These are not GOONs that can drop the server, gathering people and shooting at the statue in Jita and through their representatives of the players.
Principle-divide and conquer.
No need to increase the server for big battles, do not think about the economy, do rebalances, invent something. It is easier to take 10 to 20 people and come up with a dungeon for them or let the unkillable NPS like a locust.

Granted still to early to tell, but another Sunday with another 1k down from the previous week at peak hours of the busiest day…feel the slow drain…lol

This is my current shower soap. I wash myself with salty null bear tears.
