Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread - Part Deux!

No Sandbox not killed. Like every other change in the sandbox this is just rebalancing to make risk closer to the rewards of null.

Also removing Local in Null has been an argument going on for 15 years.

TO bad you had so many difficulties while local was up. :stuck_out_tongue:

How about something like: Police yourselves.

  • Dear Corp leader, One of your corp-mates has been banned for botting.
For EACH such ban your corporation will, for the next 12 months, have an extra security charge on your corporate offices and due to an increased security presence your upwell structures will consume 1% extra fuel.

  • CEOs & Directors leaving: A corporation you held office in has an active fine you will have a personal tax of 1% added to all ingame transactions for the duration of the infraction.

  • Dear Alliance leader, A member of one of your corporations has been banned for using a bot.
For EACH corporate fine held by an alliance member corporation the membership fees for your whole alliance will increase by 1% (per active fine).

The alliances will throw out the rotten fruit & the corporations will avoid botters or drown in fines

It will actually discourage members from reporting their own members.

I think CCP could more clearly define the role of the two kinds interceptors by removing the ability to carry a cyno from the interdiction nullified variant.

Also, I think an active cyno mod should prevent use of points & scrams.

Hey how about writing to CCP and tell them to update the game to end botting. They allowed the problem to persist since day one.

Now CCP will never ever level a fine like that to a paying customer who is honest and plays by the rules in a Corp or alliance and should directly deal with the Bot Customer.

Seems like you have it in for corps and alliances and not addressing the problem that can solve the issue if CCP really wanted to or put half a effort in , but then without all those bots the PVP crowd will not have much to hunt.

My personal belief is that if you are found botting you should be banned.

Really love how you went off topic here Abe, this is about the black out , but you made it about Botting on this one.

Obviously if you kick & report a botter/member from your corp you will not get a fine…but if you don’t and they get caught then you will suffer the consequences.

If you are an alliance you could probably absorb a 10% increase in alliance fees thru a surcharge - members aren’t going to be happy but they will have to suck it up. The question is, what happens if there is an additional 20% increase in alliance fees that is being generated by a single corp?

It will never happen that way and if you cant see it then your just expanding hot air. Corps cant monitor everyone when mining you do realize this yes .

Nice pipe dream but it would never be put into place. Like I said it is up to CCP to monitor and adapt the game to reduce such things, they have completely ignored the issue and there is no sign they will change the game to end it.

What is “local” do you just mentioned?

The question still stands. Does player activity suddenly stopped to be reported to anyone interested? Or why do you think small guys are more protected or better hidden now?

What if you could only have this if you built an observatory in system.

Just a suggestion on how to be more aggressive with bot per your opening statement

Fines & consequences are built into EvE, it’s why you pay more tax to NPCs corporations you have poor standing with - just saying this is like a corporate standing within an alliance, if a member corp has been caught botting then the alliance has the choice kick them out or pay the price.

I think this may hurt the bottom line of a few renter alliances with dubious members they turn a blind eye to and if you are an honest paying customer … you should be fine because you are not associating with botters.

Yep. There it is. Transaction taxes and brokerage fees going to 5% each. Aahhhh, that’s awesome. That’ll sooo help the little guy. Hahahahahahahaah. Flat taxes. Pity they lost Dr. E.

Wouldn’t say they ignored the issue, the blackout removed the local monitor from botters arsenal and an automatic dscan is easier for CCP to flag as a possible bot.

Flying round triglavian invasion systems in highsec there are a large number of industrial hauler wrecks about 15km from gates and a lot of them seem to have been carrying a single distribution mission item.

Again it will never happen seriously I have never even heard of CCP allowing such a thing so can you really think it will happen.

You fail to address the point that it is CCP that is responsible for the Botting issue and if they ever took it out on the players it would not go over well , the problem they have always had is proving who is a bot.

Going to have to correct you here. CCP is not responsible for the botting issue, players are. Ontop of that botting can hit CCP wallets because players that use bots don’t often make them, themselves, because of that bots often hide viral scripts in their botting programs with the expressive use of stealing the botter’s account information. This can cause a bunch of problems including but not limited, to expensive investigations when a credit card is used that has been reported stolen, or being back charged by the owner of said credit card.

I believe their was a security brief at one of the CCP’s past events that explain why botting is extremely bad for not only the company’s image, but also for their wallet.

Capsuleer battles are the core game play of eve.
Battles are exilerating, intence, entertaining and fun.
CCP has changed the game to increase the chance of battle.
Undock and experiance eve online.

I’ve experienced eve for over a decade id like to retire to my castle now.

So everything is logical, we increase the tax in Jita, the number of pirates is activated (online and fan). 10% of assets is destroyed. After 2-3 months, they forcefully put 10% (minimum qualification) on the players’ structures. Or set off the inscription on the hubs. With complete annihilation and, again, panic export of anything.
Well done CCP (sarcasm).

Well now it’s at least clear where CCP is going.
Destruction of the production capacity of players, the largest share of which was made in the zeros. Destruction assets and ships, the main-the destruction of industrial ships.
Bring players to the poor state, which in order to fly through space, will be forced to buy PLEX.
