Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread - Part Deux!

I for one hope the blackout will be permanent , as I feel space is not an easy enterprise , as for the casual player if they are that casual maybe they should stay in highsec with casual safety such as concord and local chat , null and j-space both have much higher earnings and require a much higher expertise to survive solo or in a gang , for that reason I feel the casual player who cannot handle a space without “highsec safety features” ought to stay in the safety of highsec where those safety features are permanent and can give you the heads up to dock in for safety ….death to all botters

WH Space is gaining resemblance as test case for Null. For now, if they share the absence of Local, perhaps there should also be a Cyno and Covert-Cyno Jump Penalty, just as it happens entering some WH types… maybe it would bring a bit of level while shifting from a Mining or Ratting Operation to a coherent Battlefield and some increase in chances of survival or at least put up some interesting scenario you’d feel allured to play through.

Or, You simply have to pose a bit of a risk and gate through to the Battlefield, whether if you feel incapable of fighting a Vexor with half a Nidhoggur or if you recognize that the ever-cloaked enemy field intel tells you that you just shouldn’t drop and obliterate simply “cuz I can”… Oh! and never forget the now real possibility of encountering a true response.

Go ahead!, gate a cyno fitted Nyx for toastie lulz & capbait… do your thing! skin that smokewagon and see what happens. You’d think twice even with the shiniest grinding gears you’d be able to muster. It will be way more of a game and a bit less of a stomper in a chick cage.

As long as an armada @ cyno range can project endless, fully operational assets, there is an evident higher ground aided by the absence of Local. No one wants it for free… just a chance of a fair fight.

Anecdotal evidence is worthless. Provide actual data. It’s not difficult to make yourself a hard enough target that the roaming gangs look elsewhere. Just go where the defenses are. It’s the simple answer that everyone doesn’t like… but it’s still there.

But would we care? (Hint: no.)

No, someone makes a cryptic post hinting at their identity for dramatic effect and within 20 minutes, everyone who has even mild curiosity has them locked down, because we’re paranoid bastards out here.

I think you flipped that around… lol

I mean, it’s kind of funny. A whole lot of chestbeating about how their other account is a Ferrari, and the importance of keeping it hidden so it doesn’t get keyed by the mean vandals of these boards… and then their attempt at bluster immediately outs the main and it’s not even worth giving the slightest crap about.

Another insignificant nobody like everyone else here, except somehow convinced themselves they are some kind of authority on nullsec.

It’s adorable almost. In that whole “baby seal walking into a club” kind of way.

CCP If you are going to do something, do it right. Remove PVE from the game entirely. All mining ships, haulers, industrial structures need to go. Remove all blueprints and materials, no need for them. Give all ships a fixed price and make them available in all structures. Get isk by killing other players, based on ship mass.

Awe that’s cute, the guy who doesn’t even play the game is using ad hominem attacks

If you think giving someone the same level of insignificance as everyone else here is an ad hominem attack, I suspect you don’t really understand what that is.

When you actually going to log in your account? lol

When it’s worth it. CCP’s starting to move in the right direction, but there’s far too many things that need fixing in New Eden before I’ll support them with my wallet yet. When they start flexing at the capital umbrellas, rorqual spam, and acknowledge that lowsec and WHs get the same kind of attention high and null gets, I’ll give them my money once more. All nine accounts worth.

For now, I’ve got a front row seat here in the salt mines, the screeching autismo of /r/eve, and a massive Steam backlog to work through.

That said, if someone with a CCP tag does read and watch this… good job so far. I was not expecting to have my interest and attention roused any time this year, back when I left.

Just for you Miz since I’m a Lamborghini

I’m sorry, are you trying to make F1 monkeying a Rorqual seem impressive or something? It’s about the least demanding killboard padding in the entire game. There’s more impressive suicide ganks on the tradestation undocks, sweetie.

lmao, more ad hominem  let me know when you decide to come back to the game or engage in the content :stuck_out_tongue:

You should look up ad hominem. You keep using that word, but I can assure you it doesn’t mean what you seem to think it means.

Oh you mean like attacking me instead of any of the positions I’ve taken… nope no idea what it means lmao

No, that’s just ridicule. People confuse ridicule and insults for “ad hominem” all the time, but they’re actually different things.

Suggesting that, say, someone only supports the blackout because they’re not even playing actually is ad hominem.

The difference is that ridiculing you isn’t actually attempting to rebut anything you’ve said, it’s simply… ridiculing you.
