Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread

Bob is coming to Nullsec, boys.

Praise be to Bob. Burn them all until there are no masters, only men.

I don’t bot, and I am doing PI or mining, so cannot watch a gate. I am usually on when few others in my corp are (in my area) and I stay aligned and still lose a couple industrials a month. No chance of ever making enough money to plex now. Can’t afford skill injectors and lack the skills to fly covops. I will need to move back to HS or quit. This change is definitely for the high SP players.

One thing that could possibly happen is that Alliances and Coalitions will have ot shrink the space they can hold.

(too long to go into why this would happen in a post most ppl won’t see - Geez ther are a lot of replies to this thread 4-7 ppl at at time).

This may allow smaller groups to get some foothold in Nullsec as this plays out.

Null is endgame. It’s not designed for a 2 day character to be able to do everything. HS is alot more forgiving.

You obviously haven’t been cloaky camped for months with Goons having a blop fleet within range 24/7. You can’t defend because they choose their targets. They do not drop on fleets, just anyone out in something shiny and they kill it before anyone can respond, even in a super carrier.

And this is bad?

There are ■■■■■■■ industrials with cloaks you retarded whale

not true i stated one problem i saw in with this and thats the lack of any ability to mitigate risk when it comes to cloaky campers who sit in the one system. I am ultimatley ok with this with the exception of the high concern of the ability to abuse cloaky camping as with covops cloak you could get a safe off dscan bring your fleet in everyone cloaks no one the wiser till you have 200 bombers decoaking off your carrier. or no one knows your there because you been in system monitoring the residents for a week and you dscan down the juicy target then blob them to hell and back all without ever being at risk (assuming your competent enought to not decloak yourself on a collidable) untill your ready to drop your fleet. that is the only problem i see but its a problem that can be abused to ■■■■ in this system.

Holy salt batman

I generate maybe 800 million a MONTH, not per week, so this hurts.

Permanent?

Looks like alot more people will be knocked down to that tier of isk making after this

They’ll probably keep it for a week or two to test it out then decide whether to keep it or not

Okay :ok_hand:

The ingame map does do this but the numbers are delayed, I would still like to see a live active count.

One issue brought up by people ALOT (now and over the years) is cloaky camping. Now would the right time for CCP to release their solution to that (thats a hint CCP, hope u have one).

Somoe one ementioned some comm structure that allows local to be in emmediate mode - one that uses a lot of fuel so its not just a build and forget item.

How about the same concept with a Cloak registration system. It will decloack (or allow some interaction) with a cloaked ship UNLESS its a freindly registered with the device. But of couse uses plenty of fuel to keep up?

The fuel idea is good too because if people need to keep these fueled during ops (especially if its on 24 hours a day) they need to prioritize fuel usage. It may cut down on the Citadel Spam too.

Dude, I lived in fuckign CEEVEEAEH — yes, C V ■■■■■■■ A, the worst, most retarded group of derps in all of eve who are allowed to exist because the space is ■■■■, for 4 long annoying years. I got cloaky camped (and was actually skeered) until I went to SOUND in CVA space, and then I stopped giving a ■■■■ because… competent players. Who all had less than 15M sp. We gave, zero, fucks.
It’s really not that bad if you aren’t AFK mining or botting, or just plain being stupid. Even less bad if the camper can’t see you either.

no one pays with ingame money

So what you are saying is that this small group was pushed out of all the other space by player organization and had to hide in wormhole space away from the full game mechanics of eve so they can krab.

No-local has very little to do with their success. Their success comes from artificial mass limits (read player caps) and boring game-mehcanics of a space less than 5% of the eve population even cares to fight over.

You are just another wormholer with an ego the size of the galaxy, wanting changes to make his playstyle more powerful in the rest of eve because no one gives a ■■■■ about playing in wormhole space.

If wormhole space was so good and great, you would hunt there, and not in nullsec.
