Great idea, CCP Games!
Finally, good tactical PVP returns.
Who’s not ok, sit in the Empire and poke some NPC’s, little babies!
Love it!
Adding my support to make it permanent!
HTFU!
Tactical PVP?
How?
Just roam and kill Miners which dont see you.
How is that tactical?
Its just more easy to kill people.
This is glorious. So many nullbear cry babies don’t know how to rat without local to protect them.
To borrow a term from Dark souls.
Git gud.
Literally

On a serious note (LOL), People need to think about what kind of gameplay will emerge when this in effect and not so much on how they are going to continue to generate billions a week in Isk (wrecking the whole game).
As an example: people say that their mining, capitals, etc will die to Blop cynos they wont have warning are coming… well those same Blops can be jumped as they sit in a system while waiting for the cyno to go hot.
On thre other hand I would agree that No Local in the intire Nullsec is and will be a Pain (as people may live there but they dont live there 24/7. And My recommendation would be to:
ONLY HAVE LOCAL DOWN IN INVADED SYSTEMS.
and since Jump clone and medical clones use the network (and should use up the majority of bandwidth when activating) that instead of local being totally down how about having clones jump being down? (with medical clones handled under emergencies)?
Would it be possible to show the population count of a system? I like the idea of not showing player names but with all the empty systems in null sec I feel like I’m going to waste a lot of my play time warping around a system spamming Dscan to kill something. Showing a player count doesn’t let you know if its friend or foe but at least you know there is someone out there.
I am saying that null may not be the best place for a new bro. There are otherways to learn the craft so to speak other that taking whatever ■■■■■■■■ cruiser they can fly and ratting it up.
The ingame map already does this…
This is going to seriously hit people’s wallets, and no one likes it when that happens. There’s going to be alot of rage and tears, but once people get over having a tantrum, they’ll realize this is for the best.
Growing pains are inevitable.
With jump fatigue and still limited jump ranges, it’s not like the large coalitions will be able to just jump across the map. So while null certainly isn’t the same as wormhole space, there are some similarities in this change. Wormholes work just fine in smaller groups and in null, there is at least the consistency of knowing where the gates are always going to be, so no need to scan new sigs down to find them.
Cloaky intel scouts will probably increase. The use of stop and drag bubbles will probably increase again, entry and exit points into constellations will be important and for sov holders, holding isolated constellations that have single points of entry will be valuable. Life will go on after everyone adjusts. That plus, large parts of null are near empty a lot of the time anyway. There isn’t much risk and there’ll still be plenty of reward.
have you seen this ■■■■? Does it seem normal to you in any way?!

or this maybe?
Multiple people? I don’t consider 20 chars belonging to 1 person multiple ppl sorry, and yes I completely despise multiboxing, this it worst game mechanic ever. This pure pay to win mechanic, that somehow are accepted and considered legit (CCP’s greed and all)
yeah, multiboxing is harder a bit with no local I suspect
I’m onboard with that, but FFS, tie their fuel consumption to NPC death rate , make it logarithmic or something , so fuel cost start to eat bottomline faster and faster more ppl rat in single system.
They doing great all last week!
but you see although you may not i have seen people cloaky camp like that and stay in systems use up entire region with cloaky cyno alts just to drop on things. just because you wont waste your time doesn’t mean this cannot be abused by others. i know it can happen i know it has and will happen. current defense is do your research by seeing who is in local then make the decision if the risk is worth it to you. but as i said repeatedly this no local would make the people who use multiple cloaky campers impossible to stop or detect till its too late. there would be no way to mitigate the risk. yes there would be a way to mitigate for you its monitor the system and the surroundings for a bit then go out. but the true cloaky campers there is zero none they have open season to drop their fleet with near immunity at any time anywhere and these campers like this knows whats in system they study it the same way I study them and do my research on them. it would be ignorant to ignore this drastic imbalance here. again not completely disagreeing with you but also not in full agreement with the system. the system like this could be abused by any bigger groups with the spare covert cyno alts. I mean don’t get me wrong people who live there will have the same ability to drop their force but the scales are imbalanced here.
They will start to use their brains better, I mean miners. Many ways to predict such drops, EVE mechanics allows it.
People start to play together as a team, not just hanging together in a space.
As for PVP players - Blackout allows to use much more interesting tactics for sure, coz now in null-sec the local chat is still the main intelligence tool, and … it will be gone!
not good at all.lots of pilots will afk.
Perfect, kill-kill-kill, ha-ha-ha!
They do when they come into null to hunt people, yeah.
Oh yeah for certain. A complete newbro should get his/her feet wet first at least. But past a week old, newbros can totally be useful and productive in nullsec, or even wormholes to a limited degree. After a month or so, they should be able to (with focused training) handle a lot of content in various parts of the game. Even if its industrial. Can ninja huff, mine, and all that jazz.
Even alpha accounts are capable of doing things, they just have to specialize a lot more.
Sure.
All of which I see as good. If the null blocks lose a pile of F1 monkies (I was one once) all the better.
Can I have your stuff?
Better late than never.
I notice dozens of carebears saying they’ll unsub.
We don’t believe you actually sub. NS is free ISK and you’ve been driving up PLEX prices with it.
What I don’t see is anyone saying how this will make the game worse:
As a game created around PvP, why should developers be content with the rubbish state of it?
Why NS should have local when WHs don’t?
I normally only play in winter but actually going to come back when this starts.
