To be fair it’s not delayed local it’s opt-in
I would have thought:
Low-sec - Having people show up in local chat when they break jump cloak.
Null-sec - Show in local 30-60 seconds after after breaking jump clock.
But if you have bots that use local chat as intel then this works really really well
Eve has no problem with new players.

In EVE there is a mechanism to kill players in HI sec (War).
However, not on the player protection mechanism (Rent Concord for Protection).
Local would not be so important for miners. .

Dotlan is a great source of intel that IMHO is totally unbalanced if you have un-obstructed access to systems unlike WH space.
Just look at the ratting delta and boom target system in seconds. Great for PVP hunters but not balanced.
I remember originally that WH jump stats were available but it wasn’t long before it was removed from the API because it was unbalanced because you didn’t need scouts to sit on WHs, you just needed to refresh your WH mapper.
This should be the same for Null.

Nice, just because you think hitting the same key over and over is fun, does not make it engaging gameplay. It’s a terrible mechanic for defence. I like it for hunting, it requires skill to use well.
I don’t PvE in null or low. I run abyssals and do industry for isk. D-scan is one of the reasons for that choice.

I think ccp are having an ‘salt mining’ competition this year. The team behind this change appear to be winning.
A formal “systems thinking” analysis would probably show that you are correct. In the short term it will drive lots of new “content.” In the long-term, the outcome you suggest seems likely.
So too, IF asset safety is significantly reduced, there will be a lot of new content in the short term. The long-term outcome is probably a greater concentration of wealth in even fewer hands than exists today, and the consequences of THAT, is even less content than today.
I can’t possibly imagine putting at high risk a BPO that took more than a calendar year to research.
I wonder what percentage of the player base in this game is Goons or associated. If they ALL formed a strike and quit playing, you’d be flying around space by yourself. Enjoy.

I can’t wait until blackout. I want to see if it has a global effect on industry. Plex prices have been going down in some regions for at least a couple weeks now, albeit slowly. Will they go lower or bounce back? How does the RMT get affected by blackout, and in turn what will that do to Plex prices? And mineral prices? Tech I hulls are selling at ridiculously low prices right now (at least some) so will this be affected too?
Here’s hoping blackout shakes up the whole game. Glad to see people resubbing, very glad.
