War is much more fun when you’re winning, right? Always thinking of one’s self as a knight charging across the battlefield on their way to glory, rather than being stuck in a trench half full of water waiting for the suicidal charge across no-man’s land?
How will this play into the plans announced by other null security blocks to cease trade and blockade exports to high security space because of the drifter mechanic changes?
The blockade will be pointless if all the sources ( miners ) start migrating to high security space where they can operate and where there is a market access beyond the blockade.
I mean, right now, at least 2 different null blocs have dreadbombs of over 100 dreads sitting in NPC Delve, waiting to drop them on us when they can. For a wormhole group to match that, they’d need to put in the effort of rolling 34 Delve holes without getting caught, and leaving the pilots logged off in those dreads while they gather numbers over who knows how many weeks.
So, if you wanna have 100 guys basically locked out of doing anything for a few months, go for it, but… honestly, at that point, you’re better off just buying dreads in lowsec, putting them in NPC null, and being ready with dread alts who can JC from highsec at a moment’s notice. You know, just like everybody else.
Yessssss, I was slowly beginning to play less and less but as a person who likes to roam by my self who recently moved to null for that very purpose; I’m very excited for these changes and will be playing much more if these changes stick.
No, other games call them ‘alt accounts’. I have an alt I use for scouting. It doesn’t get used in any scripted way. It’s not automated. But it’s definite an alt. I’ve got a few mining alts. A few cyno alts. None of them are bots.
Hey CCP!
Half of my corp decided to unsubscribe due to that change. I’ll sadly leave new Eden behind as well for a while or at least will play a lot less than in the past. You know, you reduce and nerf things in a row. We all belive it is due to fight the inflation and to punish the bot user. But acctually most of your actions taken punish real heart beat player more than the afk “player”. In 00 we suffer from WHs already, watch our backs all the time, need to rely on eyes everywhere and have to pay close attention to - everything! This change will make us dscan junkes. I as well as most player love PVP, but as well eve is not Battlefield or Call of Duty. This change radically will change the gameplay and make it more or less impossible to even have a few moments a day that are relaxed in eve. Spamming dscan - thats what eve will look like beginning now. All those changes you’ve made had a good intention but punish all, espcially the newbros and less skilled dudes.
Facts:
There is WH space for the hardcore lovers. There is high sec for the cowards. The is 00 for those looking for the real content. You now make 00 similar to WH space and therefore take us away the desicion of which gameplay type suits best for us. As said before, living in 00 already was wathiching your back permanently as WHs appear faster than you can close, as there is no NPC police guarding you, as thousands of other dudes want to take away your sweets.
This change is the same as you would remove CONCORD from high sec. The same as if you would add a local to WHs. This is the end of fun for a lot of player - This message is written in the hope and assumption you’re interested in having some player left on your server,…
Some certainly will love this change but most player will certainly quit. Who came up with that idea and whats the intention? Agreed, assets need to die to reduce the amount of ISK ingame. But folks, again and again you punish the wrong people. Only the young accounts, the less skilled and the poor will suffer - again. The rich will remain rich and even become richer. Sad story folks. Another great game fixed it self to death. I hope Tranquility will remain and that the gameplay will adapt somehow. Maybe more people will move to highsec again, maybe LS will become the new place to be. But probably for a lot of people another game will be the solution. You make me sad.
You know, a real good change would have been to somehow add some kind of fuel to cloaking devices. This is what 99% of all player are waiting for since years,… Make the Rorqual great again, increase drop chances and ban known bot accounts in every region. People blow stuff up don’t worry about that, but don’t make the game so freaking unatractive to play anymore,…
A) a fair number of our miners are the same people building supercapitals, and flying supercapitals in fleets. They’re not going to highsec to mine crap ores that make no money. (And by ‘a fair number’, I mean in the neighborhood of 85%+)
B) The fewer people mining T2 moongoo, the more expensive it gets, so that kinda just does our work for us, huh?
in my personal opinion was the “invasion addon” the warning ^^.
i mean ofcourse, i can understand the leaders from nullsec. they are all pissed off. expecially goonswarm since they was kind of in “prewar preperations” etc. but from what i readed took those drifters always only shields down on stations, they never came back for a 2nd round to take armor down or even destroying the station completely except it was one of those stations which “obsiviously” noone wanted anymore (lowpowermode). its just funny how the nulsec empires trying to threaten now ccp with market sabotage etc. because they got “disrupted” in their “player versus player” universe. nullsec is not player vs player … its multiboxer vs multiboxer (players with multible clients online) and even more worse, about 30% of nullsec are bots sitting in belts and mining ^^ those which flame about the blackout now are just those players which cant set anymore their bot to fly home to a station as soon a “red/-” comes into the system. its a smart move from CCP to fight against bots.
If “Align and warp the second you see neuts in local.” is not something we can teach a new player to use to survive, we will stop inviting new players to join us in null. Rorquals were only sensible to use if there was a chance that you could get it off field and out of danger with early warning systems. If a gate scout misses a neut slipping through three systems away, pilots in the next system would report them…you had time if you were at the keyboard and watching intel channels. This was the only method that supported sensible rorqual use. On a balance sheet, isk lost manning an umbrella fleet “nullifies” isk gained flying a rorqual. Lose one rorqual and you’ve completely wasted your time mining. The pilot in that fax could have been in a rorqual instead. “Nullhole” life is not for me. I’d rather live in a wormhole where I can roll the gate instead of having the same pilot come at me multiple times through the same gate. It’s not skilled pvpers that are going to enjoy this, just those that enjoy griefing indy pilots. I’ve got better things to do with my time than serve as their content. This completely changes game play for me…big decisions…even if you bring local back…you still might not see me.
Some do. I pay real money for all my accounts. I enjoy mining but if the risk is greater than the reward then will have to see. Won’t leave but can cut down the number significantly and spend the cash on something else.
This is my greatest concern. We need to retain players not loose them. I worry that many will hold off logging on while this is going on and then find something else to do making their return even less likely.
Our numbers are dropping and there are many other options to go out and get addicted to. We need to support all players and how they want to play the game.
What do you remember as being the largest amount of players when you came online… what is that number now?
The Drifters are likely related to the Sleepers not the Jovians 2nd Emp. Far as I know of the lore the 2nd Empire had dealings with them as well as the Talocan but both the Sleepers and the Talocans are significantly more advanced than the Jovians.
By what I know of the lore, mind you this is going back as well to the early days, the Talocans and the Sleepers were two splinter factions, of a total of four, that formed post EVE-gate collapsed that never relapsed into a more primitive state while the Jovians had a brief dark age and the other factions had a significantly longer one.
This is the reason why Drifters seem to have apparent ability to strike at will just like the Talocans would because if anyone could have the technical level required to reverse engineer their tech it would be the Sleepers. The idea that the Sleepers are a faction of the Jove empire that went into stasis doesn’t bear out either as Drifter warships are very dangerous and the only real reason players stand a chance against them is because the Jovians have done their best to prepare us gradually. To be succinct: Everything from capsules to the latest activities of the SoCT, they’ve known they were on their way out so they pulled a Asgard with us, from a lore standpoint, but much more gradually so they wouldn’t give a chimp a thermonuclear warhead basically.
If the latest factions of EVE lacked capsule tech you would get Drifter recon frigates slaughtering entire Amarrian armadas, now realize everything else that cropped in over the years… heck even the Anoikis themselves may have popped up due to Jovian interference.
wrong, the jove intigrated the sleepers into their system. you can see that in the trailer from 2015 aswell.
you arent that long in this game, can it be?
That’s just a player theory, it’s never been backed up by any CCP statements or lore and the CCP lore creators love people going down wrong paths to blindside them like… well… no local null, Drifters having advanced spatial manipulation abilities goes beyond Halcyon Days Jove by a significant margin, they were focused on bio-mechanical pursuits then so would lack much of a clue how to go about it.
The original 4 precursor races within EVE are distinct from the Jovians and it’s always been like that for a very obvious reason: Much more creative liberty to pull out blindsides without retcons.
