I really wonder if they worry about their paychecks or are they so rich they can just destroy a game that has been putting money in their pockets for over 15 years. The economy will crash and slowly the game will die. I hope it is only for a short time. I love playing this game and have no idea what game I will go to if EVE dies.

Running as you put it is referred as Retreating or Regrouping all are sound ideas better then putting yourself into a situation you cant win, my plan is just to keep going by grouping up with others in my corp for mining and ratting, the so called hunters can deal with the fleet then.
being goon in itself is a very strong insult. Also I like to go easy on brain damaged capsulers.
