Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread

To be fair it could be for a lot of reason. The non pvpers that just play eve in HS might not want to deal with pvp at all or the thought of it. They still can be ganked in HS ofc. Another reason for them steering clear of Null is that they might feel it could be a huge time investment on their part.

I think it’s false but I wont attempt to own SOV until they remove asset safety. What’s the point otherwise…to make some caps? Cool.

In J-space we have no choice but to defend our structures at all cost due to the lack of asset safety. Controlling a wormhole during a full eviction is one of the worst / hardest things you can ever want to do in J-space. Also, if you get podded out during an eviction and there is no way back in…rip.

Don’t get me wrong. I know you guys still have to defend structures that are building capitals. However, keeping a nullsec region safe and keeping a J-space chain safe are two different animals.

Well I guess in my Corp that is not the standard way , you keep eyes on the situation and relay like this Unfriendly enters area, click show info , drag name into box , drag system name into box , hit enter info relayed not that hard.

Letting people who are in our corp the ability to hunt the hunters there by generating PVP

Yeah but the bot was doing the same faster and without missing someone.

A true hunter will rise to meet any occasion , a Ganktard well is only looking for the soft kill. I seen people put up heroic fights , then I have seen Gankers run at the first sign of reinforcements arriving.

Get off the Bot kick as your excuse for it all , kill them please I welcome that but again Not everyone is a bot.

NOOOOOOO! DO NOT MAKE IT!

Well, not everyone is a terrorists. Still I have to go through a explosives detector at the airport.

You misspelled “free” again. If it’s just “easy” ganktards may find it too hard and not bite.

Literally just forming up. What you require from null and what null does all the time is suddenly “work”.

Skill has been removed, it no longer takes any, now you have substitute for skill, which is what all the ganktards are happy about.

You didn’t deserve any kills, and probably not getting any. At least you definitely not getting me.

Are you upset because they added the need for skill to survive in Null?

There were -15% logged people in the few hours after the blackout compared to last friday. Right now, it is -20%. I wonder if it can go up a few more.

Nope. Need to do recon and check your targets at the very least or you’ll be very easily baited. You can’t possibly know if a non barge has a cyno fitted if you don’t look at zkill. To say nothing about keeping a close eye on any nearby fleets which there’s no chance of you beating cause covert ops ships are made of paper and finger paint. I’m sure you wont forgive cloakies for not fighting anything and everything even though everyone knows they’ll die 90% of the time.

Cause your an absolute coward who’s using a forum alt and declaring to the world he’s too cowardly to undock during blackout and use intel like a proper adult who deals with his problems. Mining and ratting is still fairly safe and unquestionably very profitable in null even during blackout. You just suck.

He’s upset because his cheap bots don’t work without local.

this gives you a basic idea how bot infested null was

That’s not how the joke goes…

Cue reporter and video of spaceships flying around…

Voiceover: %30 of people surveyed said they strongly agree with the changes.
Insert footage of some guy saying “Yeah, I really like the changes to local.”

Voiceover: %30 of people surveyed said they strongly disagree with the changes.
Insert footage of some guy saying “No, I do not like the changes to local.”

Voiceover: The survey also revealed that %40 of people responded “Yeah, they should totally Kick Jita local square in the nuts. Who reads that anyway? I can’t wait for this change.”
Insert footage of some guy saying “Wait, what, they’re not turning of Jita local? Am I still going to get $15 for filling out the questions?”

Fade reporter out to black…

WOW really you could not come up with anything better that is like saying in comparison to gun control , lets say there were a 1000 people who bought hammers, and one person in that group took a hammer and beat someone to death with it would you ban all hammers by law , but then again to I believe true Gun control means using both hands.

Come up with a better response that pertains with the game your PVP minded troll tripe is weak.

I find it amusing that when blackout ends, CCP will literally have a list of people to watch for botting behavior lol

Finding the change interesting, but understanding some routines will become dull and tedious or will require big adaptation.

Miners will have it HARD. For proper mining, ships are usually slow and require to be still, slow orbiting a rock at close as much, making them great targets for shadow hunters (recons, cloacks). Mining in small ships, like frigs, is not profitable in null in my knowledge, but im no miner.

Ratting might be ok, but will be very dull with the constant v press. I find dscan optimal for every pvp point of view, but tedious for ratting… would be great if they added and active auto dscan every 10 or 15 seconds.

Adaptation is on the march. We nullsecers will be good no worries. But people indeed will play less and unsub secondary accounts indeed.

Reasons? New ratting and mining will require more resources aka intel for proper running. When people dont have those resources in hand, be it being part of a small group, not counting with backup or being in a bad tz, no mining or ratting will be made, thats a fact, because it wont be profitable in terms of risk - isk.

For example. I spend my time engaging in combat with other people, ratting a bit in between until new fleets form. Since it will be more risky now, unless i find ways to make it (ratting) viable i just wont do it, logging off or changing to other game, until im pinged for next fleet.

Thats the matter, this change will make some people stop doing certain things in certain places, making it harder for casuals mostly.

This would be ok if disrupts botters, but not since it disrupts active players also.

Btw, some of the new ways of intel gathering or null system safe caring will be booooring as hell (same as pressing v while f1ing rats in an anom in fact), so again, expect people to slowly stop doing tedious stuff.

The hunter will be travelling in space properly managing his dscan in an active way, looking for targets… he is doing something, he is having fun… preys/defenders must stay in gates or citadels, since dscan nor probes reveal all modes of hunting… thats booooooooriiiiiiing.

In short. Blackout is interesting, but if it stays, not all players have the proper tools to deal with it. Some will have it easier. Some harder. Remember that if the prey desappears, so does the hunter.

As a side note. Those who say this will disrupt big blocks dont be ridiculous. This in fact strenghens them. Think in long term, not in short.

No way they cant tell who is doing it in the first place, 10 years and never changed the dynamics that could end botting , I am sure there are Bots leaving but then again to allot of just unsatisfied customers as well. Problem has been in the game since the beginning how to really find out who is botting?
