Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread

500 less afk farmers

I wonder what’s running through the minds of these after reading about the changes. Probably half of them making posts here.

It already IS dangerous. At least in areas where the massive player groups aren’t. Providence is a game preserve for these sh8theads. Not all of Null is Goons/Test/ whatever big boy group you can list.

Keep your local but remove system jammers; report botters in your alliances; take away the panic module; get rid of do as you likey jump bridges; etc.

This is an action that clearly makes life unfeasible for those who do not pay in dollars.
We all know of the high cost of living in Nullsec, today possible due to ratting, basically.
The access to capital ships will be more restricted, the number of participants in ratting activities will be lower due to the unfavorable cost and benefit, this will affect the supply of modules / items as well as minerals. This will increase the value of everything.
Without sufficient ISK to maintain the normal economy, PLEX transactions will gain volume. At the end of the account, dollars will enter the developer account like never before.
In my opinion, EVE is having its days counted.
Pearl Abyss begins to show that it has acquired the PCC.
If this persists, at the end of the period I still have omega, I will not renew and close my passage here after almost 10 years.

I’ve only been playing since January and the learning curve just to play the game is huge, then you have to to learn how to make isk so you can enjoy the game content of pvp, mining, etc. Everything cost money and with the hunters and the gankers thinning down your profits its a struggle. Really liked this game when I started, thought I found something I could play a long time to come but the changes the last 2 months are making me regret the time I’ve invested in it and doubting whether I will continue to play. You pvper’s and older players with money don’t care I know but you will when no one is playing and you have nothing to shoot at and the drifters have restored complete chaos to NS space and all the corps have disbanded or gone to HS. CCP your killing your own game. I’ve played numerous games online and watch the same downward spiral again and again as devs try to balance and fix what they think is broken and pay no attention to what the community is saying. Think I will be liquidating everything I have (which isn’t much compared to many) and logging back in 6mths to a year from now to see if EVE is still alive. Too bad, I was enjoying playing.

Some bold initiative from CCP! I love it. Null sec should be dangerous. Love it!

The high cost of living in null is down to no check and balance to the out of controlled crabbing.
PLEX will hopefully fall in price now.

So full of ■■■■. you’ll actually have to play the game and pay attention, ow nooo. End of the world stuff. You want all the rewards of null with no risk. Good riddance.

A ping went out to Goons about an hour and a quarter ago or so to everyone with a link to this thread telling us that CCP would like to know what we think so it’s no surprise tbh.

I have 207 accounts for all my hunters I was going to un-sub. PVP wins over PVE.

So should Low sec, high sec, and all in between. Historically Concord has no reason to protect the high sec carebears as capsuleers aren’t citizens of one of the four empires. Once they underwent the process to become capsuleers, they abandoned ties to one of the four empires.

Where’s yours? Good luck for hunting…

D-Scan is a thing people. BTW CCP, will you be looking at the way D-Scan works and possibly make the range a lot further, say, system wide (perhaps a ping that tells you that there are enemies in local, but not ship type). Perhaps this would force player into a more active play style than AFKing all the time…

Would certainly pay goons a visit on their 7UTB-F mining system and The Bastions ZTS-4D rorqual mining system.

Seriously, This is unfair, from the point of view we don’t have adequate information to judge what intention you have for this update.
You haven’t officially announced the purpose of this invalidating local chats, like, for killing bots, lore wise, testing the server performance, encouraging small gang, restructing the economies or, whatever.
Neither you have let us know how long this’d last. If this gonna be a limited time event or something, despite serious impact, not much people may object.
If its under the permanent changes, Almost all the people may object, including me.

Assuming this is gonna be a permanent changes, I clearly object as former wormholer.
Haven’t you CCP forgotten that local chat system is the basis of EVE Online player comunications ? Wormholes are based on delayed chat though, it’s simply that, they are special. People would go for wormholes if they preffer to be in the non-local environments. Actually many starting WH-corps are growing in low classed wormhole spaces.

If you change locals to be delayed permanently, Nullsecs simply become wormholes with horrible cyno mechanichs and static gates. It means, None of the productive activities allowed there. Since wormholers can intentionally roll the holes, they can make themselves isolated. But in nullsecs it can’t be done and none one but PVPers an dock out from stations since you can’t control your own space by yourself.

The basics of EVE ONLINE is that, EVE allow all the playstyles. Thus, this changes (in case it goes permanently) EVE online not to allow all the activities but PVP.
