With near-zero details, we still don’t know duration (though less overexcited idiots would’ve been ripped of their sub by CCP if we did), neither we had any detail on what tools are going to work and how.
Which is a joke considering how long does it take to unanchor a structure, yet alone evacuate all invalidated assets.
Average nullsec player has more, because you literally can’t do ■■■■ in nullsec with a single account.
Unless you’re a visiting ganktard enjoying a period of all risk removed from you.
I only got one character on each, so it’s still 3.
Some people can’t enjoy the game if they have to try though. They need this to kill other player ships.
If they lose their ships or get caught that isn’t fun for them don’t you see? They NEED handouts to have fun even if those handouts force others to have less fun
And then people say I suck at pvp. Forums are pvp too!
I am a pro at getting-under-the-skin-with-just-alphabet game.
So you’re not “generating content” then? Pffft, not afraid to miss the whole blackout?
We need some changes for everyone to enjoy the game, like a cyno nerf and return of jump fatigue, but yeah, removing 100% safety from ganktard by lifting blackout is the good start.
Tex, do not let the “Can I have Your Stuff” “Look At All The Salt” “Blah Blah Blah” crowd of players discourage your statement. A lot of players, equal to the players who like this idea also hate it. Not many will admit it because it is against the popular opinion right now which is “Pro CCP/Screw Null Sec/Screw Big Power Blocks/Etc…”
I am 50/50 on this and have been since it’s inception. I do not mind change. I am very interested on what will come of this. Will it be permanent? Probably not. I dislike how CCP has chosen to roll out this new idea. Very piss poor and a slap in the face to all large power blocks who have worked very hard to make the game the way they want it. Direct intervention by CCP or any game developer is never a good idea. My opinion as of now is that CCP does not want EVE to be a “sandbox” right now as they are forcing changes on players who do not wish for it. Wormhole mechanics have been alive and well for many years. CCP can gather data from that. I agree with you…if I wanted to live in Wormhole mechanics I would have done so years ago.
I do not have lots of toons like some. I only have 3 Omegas (13 years old). They are all prepaid for 1 year at a time. I will not un-sub because of this forced game play. I will ride out this change, play it, try it, and hope something good comes of it. But if CCP makes this a permanent way of life in Nul Sec with no better reward for the risk I also will seriously have to consider if I will re-sub my 3 accounts.
I’d say they won’t do it if they cared about money, but hey, it’s CCP we’re talking about, a long history of causing us to shoot monuments be my witness, they can go ahead with the most ridiculous things like microtransactions and think it’ll be ok when it obviously won’t.
Through EUTZ, we averaged 2k fewer than last Friday. Going into the middle of USTZ, we’re still running that same amount lower.
This is only 1 day. It’ll take a lot more for any meaningful conclusions to be drawn, but losing 1/10th of the USTZ population on a Friday night isn’t a great look.
This is all just building up to “observatories”, why is everyone freaking out… A month from now they will have a fix and the big alliances can plant their observatories and have local back where they maintain it.
Here a gamble for you, I bet the blackout will last at least week, then CCP will release a scope video of “Due to Emergencies, Concord has release blueprints to capsulers that contains drawings of signal boosters, while not as effective as the original communication networks, it will help mitigate the damage the drifters are performing on the capsuler’s communication network.”
it’s almost like people don’t enjoy having to be other people’s targets by force with no defensive advantage or something…
And i believe it will continue to get worse the longer this sticks. Too many pvpers have unlimited resources to psychotically camp/roam/logofftrap and lose infinite numbers of ships,
The PvE aspect of eve has been shafted in comparison to the pay to win crowd. It’s sad
If the blackout lasts 1 week, then CCP’s entire basis for doing it is crap. You can’t draw meaningful usage data from 1 week. You need multiple data sets for each day of the week to compare to the non-blackout data sets before you can draw any meaningful inferences. 3 weeks, minimum, for useful data gathering.
