Why would you pay real cash to grind with multiple accounts?
It doesn’t make sense…
Well, it makes perfect sense for industrials and logistics.
well said
After reading several comments it can be summarized that there are many good pro and contra arguments (as well as many insults and trolls) and more than just one play style. PvP is just as much a part of EVE as Mining, PvE, and so on. A good compromise for all interests would be needed…
Just a few of the commentators I don’t understand:
After years of living in WH-Space myself , I wonder why all the PvP players who came back because of the blackout don’t live in WH? The fights there were somehow more honest, more intense and demanded more skill. And all that only because there are no cynos… With the move to WH there would also be more content.
the ppl that go deep krab really be that way.
Not glossing over it at all. You need supers because nothing else can contest supers.
Because you couldn’t PVP before with local … and somehow you think you’ll be able to PVP now without local… something tells me you’ll be unsub’d very soon
point to the spot on the VNI where the naughty scram touched u
Because they don’t really want WH content either, or the other argument I’ve seen there’s less people in WHs (wonder why?) most people don’t want WH lifestyle, that’s why Null has a large portion of the players. But a boisterous group has complained enough that they are trying to force Null to go the same way as WH space to increase their chances at easy kills because they feel WH space isn’t active enough…
Well, there and in lowsec most of these blackout-wannabe-pvp’rs would find people that shoot back. They prefer seal-clubbing ratters and miners that don’t .
I think you get the point…
It’s a good point!
I also did live in wh… but to be honest,
After work I have only 2 hours of game time and I found myself scanning the whole time to find only empty wormholes.
Oh I totally agree with you, they had the option before and they weren’t really utilizing it. It’s not about the blackout being some godsend that adds more content, it’s about people mad that other people are being lazy and want to be lazy too, the haves vs the have nots… It’s a piece of the game that’s been active since just about its inception, just a bunch of “make the game easier” people crying for content
Yeah sure but imagine these guys who said they came back for the blackout because they like PvP. It would be nice content for the WH-Space if they move into it.
It isn’t a fair shot when you are just going into game and I agree it should be changed. so back to the topic when you’re in game and just say hello and someone puts a 50 million bounty on you. And for what did you do and nobody wants to join you for a committee or a group of people to enjoy the game. There’s a lot of negative here in this place. Just because I post something somebody gives me a lot of negative responses. I mean what’s the use of being in Eve online for tranquility or even Valkyrie or any kind of Eve. When you cards on the table to participate in a special way with the people.
And without results of somebody being a real total ass or a jerk. And just hating for no reason just because you got your name on the panel for all the federation. 4 - example
No criminal timers don’t hold you in system. Weapon timers do.
But that is the fun part.
This blackout is not working all so well.
It is a good test, and has made some interesting game play, but without further changes/balances, it is not going to work so well in the long run.
A change I would like to see if this blackout is going to be everlasting, is, an overhaul to the directional scanner. Maybe some modules rigs or even implants that extend your dscan range or something. Maybe even a ship bonus for covert ops or something.
Not having local, doesn’t really change much, regarding game play in null sec. It has just changed the content and the play style to a more cloaky and baiting approach to pvp.
Fleet and small gang pvp is the same, it just takes a bit longer to find content, unless you use the starmap, and local intel channels.
I am not totally impressed with this change, but I am at least giving it a try.
Thank you CCP for trying, but maybe you need to actually play the game, to be able to make calculated decisions for changes and balances, instead of staring at your spreadsheets and theory building.
Oh, and push the brake once in a while. Eve has plenty of content, you don’t have to keep making more all the time, just make the content that there is better, and also a bit easier for new players to get into.
Player retention, and new player (not alts) subscriptions is what we all want for the game, and should be on your priority list as ‘‘number one’’. Whatever rock you have been smoking funny tobacco under, and thinking are good ideas, are in fact a waste of time imho, and your not addressing the main problems in the game, but just procrastinating them, with new content.
BALANCE THE F… SHIPS, MAKE THE GAME EASIER FOR NEW PLAYERS, AND MAKE SURE THEY GET HOCKED. PLAY YOUR OWN GAME!! THE REST HAS ALL READY BEEN MADE.
Yeah, I agree, not much has really changed, so we should just keep no-local and add some more changes on top of it. Can’t wait to see what CCP does next along with it.
Looks like they’re committed to continuing to try new things (which is good):
To be honest, stabs are some of the worst design concepts in EVE, so tone def and boring somehow. No one to blame but CCP for that...

OK, this is going places. If you have stabbs then auto aggression of drones towards NPCs is disabled and stabbed ships don´t advance the plex FW countdown. These are maybe not the fixes to the stabbs I was thinking of but sound like great "ninja hacks" to improve the situation.

Hahahaaaah! I can hear the aneurysms spread through the bear population at even the possibility of removing stabs. It’s like bubblewrap under a steamroller.
I mean, he’s right. A few ships should get to keep their stab bonus as role bonuses, but the module itself has no real reason to remain. That said, he also just demonstrated how ■■■■■■■ removed he and CCP are from the game. Stabbed plexers have already been covered and he’s not even aware. Christ.
