Yeah call me crazy but turning off local is not that sophisticated change to justify constructive discussion

its not as if we are talking about deepening the mechanics of the game to enhance solo PVP experience

its about a dude switching off the light on his way out

Iā€™ve sworn never to play again a few times now.

Iā€™ve long felt all the content creation was stomped out in the name of safe grinding.

I may actually re-sub for this. Brings an element of game back to the game.

just ā€œsabreā€ T1 sabre !

I was hoping for others sharing ideas too
TO date I ve offered at least four ideas how to address this in a constructive way

Totally happy to see others with different views- maybe much better ones offering their suggestions to change local for nullā€“well other --other than just simply turning it off

Yeah, Iā€™d like to see more discussion on exactly how mining will be affected, what counters and adaptions might take place, and how capital production will be affected.
Will this make null roams more affective again, will there be more content, or less, etc?

So far itā€™s Iā€™ve unsubbed, or I love CCP for this. Thatā€™s about it.

curse will do the job just fine too

I got on that ignore flag when I reposted my ideas - so all I can is to ask you to look them up I guess

The repercussion will be on your wallet of real life.
Dump your dollars to make up for the ISK loss in the game.
Simple.

if old player fly in capsule

as for minersā€“one of my ideas involved being in a fleet AND in the same sys makes local update faster

Niceā€¦ no more mining. Buying ships for plex. Call it pay2win. Just undocking to move supers blowing ā– ā– ā– ā–  up. Hunters roaming nearly empty systems - on that will be fun.

Leaving aside the different type of playerā€™s preferences, it makes senseā€¦

HS has comm network, concord, infrastructure, etc
LS has comm network, weaker infrastructure and no concord.
Null has (for the most part) very little NPC infrastructure, no concord - makes sense that it would mostly have a player based comm network (intel channels) and player based infrastructure.
WH space has no safety for assets, no comm infrastructure, no stable routes and potential effects.

Thatā€™s an increasing order in terms of player inconvenience and risk and an increasing level of potential rewards, just as it should be.

As usual, big groups will react against the change in two opposite ways

  1. the change should not be implemented because it messes too much with our current way of life.

  2. the change should not be implemented because it will make matter worse and we will be the only ones to benefit anyway.

Yes, that implies the need for good intel and semi-constant d-scanning but, let me tell you a secretā€¦

Surviving gankers in HS mostly involves intel (who are the gankers?) and d-scan (are they coming for me?)

Thriving in Low mostly involves intel (who are the guys around? likely cyno?) and d-scan.

If one wants to be successful in WHs, constant d-scanning is a necessary (but not sufficient) condition.

Why would null be the only place where you can sleep AFK with a few billions in space and not care if only blues are around? Why would it be the best place for bots relying on local to insta gtfo?

And donā€™t get me wrong: I like that big empires can effectively control and exploit null, but asking them to do it on their infrastructure, including comms, is reasonable.

vote csm for you

i have 3 accounts that i pay for,

Are yall trying to make me quit the game ? i hate WoW i re4ally do, but this crap that is going on is stupid,

to the ceo , who the heck r u listening to? after all this time there is sti the same amount of ppl actively playing or less, the game. Most of the ppl i play with r multiple accounts anyway,

First you restrict to best of the Blue Prints, screw with the market morph good cpmbat ships
and make it so that we are forced to group up like a bunch of rabid rabbiits to survive,

you want this game to grow ? triple the frikin null sec space we live in restrict the ability to have large allainces and corps, make the little guys null sec space that the dnager increase as our Skill points grow

there is not space enough in eve for an additional 20 thousand new subscribers because no one wants to jammed up in a system sharing Havens with 5 other ppl flying a carrier

Now we are giong to loose null sec communication? you are kidding right?

better change your ways young man

Has this thread been stuck in the system sinceā€¦ ever?

I think the loss of local in nullsec is a positive thing. Definately a game changer. EVE has been in need of a shaking for some time, from what Iā€™ve read.

Null-sec is way too safe as it is. Low sec is where the real danger lies, yet NS reaps the rewards. Removing local will shake things up for good, and you shouldnā€™t feel safe with all your ā€˜intel networksā€™ etc anymore.

And heyā€¦ Iā€™m all for giant alliance taking a bit of fall. I hope the major power blocs suffer from this, I really do, because it shouldnā€™t be feasible for them to control so much territory in the first place. Smaller blocs will do us good in the long run. Actual danger of living in NS is a good thing, too.

Congrats to CCP for finally making a bold move.
