Lost about what to do next (newbro frustration?)

If you’re going to share something embarrassing about yourself, that’s a willing act of self-deprecation, and it’s irrational to get upset if someone makes fun of it. If you don’t want anyone to make fun of you for it, then don’t share.

When I need your advice on any aspect of Eve, or even life itself, I’ll ask.

Have a nice day.

So now you have another thing on your list of “what to do nexts”.

Thanks so much for all of the suggestions!

It’s kind of wild how much advice varies between here and rookie chat. I was advised to just forget about gankers and move on, contrary to what I thought would have been more fun, which is keep a revenge list.

I did end up taking a frigate into null sec via a filament yesterday. Seems like a whole different game out there. However the combat sites are all level 4. I’m still just scraping at level 3 combat sites (when I was trying them anyways). So just going to wait around.

Although I think I might have used the wrong filament heading back, and got dropped into Triglavian space. So tonight’s fun will be “how to make it back to high sec while in a capsule”. A least gives me something to do. lol.

Revenge is initially a really good motivator. I think even CCP recognise that when they say being ganked actually makes people more likely to stay in the game.

You don’t want me to start down this kind of e-peen measuring contest, do you?

All of those are examples that you would be expected to win given the ship matchups. A cruiser would be expected to kill a destroyer.

Although credit where due, nice catch on the Pacifier.

you see, thats the issue you guys have

i never intended to flex, i simply showed some kills that arent ventures because i got “attacked” for doing that aswell

also i just noticed i posted the wrong paci kill, the one i linked was explo fit not pvp fit

but then again, killing a pacifier in an astero isnt really impressive aswell, since they have about 0 counterplay if i use double webs and they just never get into dmg range

well, i wouldnt even care, if you didnt continuessly call me dumb for no reason, just to show who is lacking in that regard after.

btw i think people dont give Destiny enough credit
thats some intelligent, high quality content right there and you dont even appreciate it

except you did flex. someone called you out and you just had to jump in and flex.

Here’s the thing about killboards: the less you care about them, the more fun you’ll have.

Am I ‘proud’ of my KB? Yeah, it’s not bad. Do I give a [redacted] about my KB? Not in the slightest. You’ll meet people in EVE who will refuse to fly X or Y ship because “if it dies, it’ll look bad on my KB”. I’ve always found such people to be tedious in the extreme.

And finally, try the dual rep/cap injector Astero fit. works a charm. you’ll tank until you run out of capsticks.

not really, no. i simply put things in the right perspective.
my killboard is infact looking terrible and i dont care, i ll yeet stuff into null just to have some fun and improve. i could make it green if i never took the slightest risk, but thats just boring imo.

yes, the fit i used for the astero is not meant as an exclusive pvp fit tho, since i would lose to another astero with higher skills anyway. i agree the dual rep is very good, but i intended to just shoot some explorers (mainly ones that take my cans and have little to no means to defend themself) while exploring myself, since the loot fairy hates me

While everyone is still around (lol), how long does it take to generally get approved from a corp?

Hey…I’m not the one who made the ‘shrink the systems’ suggestion…which has almost universally been regarded as one of the silliest suggestions ever made.

depends on the corp, their recruitment policy and how busy their corp officers are.
if you haven’t heard anything back in a couple of days, then poke them to find out what’s up.

my dude. you flexed. you got called out and you flexed.

and your flex-fu was pretty weak as I’ve already pointed out. I’d absolutely expect a Stabber to beat a Bellicose. Especially a RLML fit Bellicose as but one example.

Anywhere from minutes to several days. You don’t really want a corp that will accept you in 2 seconds…as they’re clearly desperate for members and not checking who joins. On the other hand, some corps way overdo the paranoia over spies.

As others have mentioned, I definitely recommend faction warfare. There are some great new player friendly corps in all of the militias, but Minmatar and Caldari probably have the the best experience for new player on boarding. (Amarr and Gallente probably have higher skilled pilots, but they seem to be a bit more elitist. At least from an outside perspective.)

Dang. My application to KarmaFleet was rejected. :man_shrugging:

Not to sound salty, but that’s kind of annoying. I wonder if it’s because I was pretty vague with my answer of “what do you want to do in Eve”, which imo, is a hard question to answer if you don’t know many people, and you don’t even know what roles there are in eve.

I’ve seen multiple newbros mention they got declined by Karmafleet over the last 3 or 4 years. Karmafleet doesn’t provide reasons or feedback although sometimes you might get a bit more info if you (politely) message/mail one of their recruiter types.

Newbro-friendly doesn’t mean “accepts all”, and of course null corps etc. do have some concerns about spies etc. Still, they’re not the only option, so just keep looking and it’s Karmafleet’s loss.

Try to make friends and ask for a referral letter.

“you only eat apples!” no i eat watermelons too
that a flex to you?

No, it’s simply an annoying and pointless analogy to try and make.
How old are you? You’re coming across as a whiny teenager. Please bear in mind that the average eve player is ~30-40+
