Because null competes with wh space. Null can’t have wh features
I don’t necessarily want to, but I’d be fine doing it myself if it wasn’t an empty one sided gesture.
My biggest problem with PvP is how pointless and not fun it is.
It does. You have to clear the space and keep it clear, or you wind up with local in the useless state of High Sec. They don’t just look at a chat channel, they took the time to travel out into the boonies, got friends and cleared space, keep it clear and stay aware of threats as they appear.
Local isn’t a defense, it just allows proactive defensive actions.
When it’s on the aggressor’s side of the abusive predatory PvP environment they call that emergent gameplay and it’s lauded as one of EVE’s biggest selling points.
also can you explain what exactly you do in eve that isn’t PvP?
at least I can agree on the absurdity of this
What are you talking about?
See bad guy → dock.
Yeah. Local needs nuking before we change cloaks.
This is disingenuous, if not an outright lie. Using local as intel IS emergent gameplay. But not ALL emergent gameplay is healthy.
-500mn hics
-Pos bowling
-Hyper-dunking
-Shooting an mtu to get drone aggro.
-Warping away before concord arrives.
In fact, take a look at what ccp calls exploits or half the nerfs in the past few years. They are often done to prevent unhealthy predatory pvp.
You’re like the original millenial ‘victim’.
Mike is still here looking for a safe sapce? Hahahahaha, poor guy.
Hi,
i just wanted to say that a small/medium alliance is doomed to die atm. Simply because u get cloaky camped, cant use anything above procurer/VNI and have no real income to form big fleets.
Simple and plain u are f-ed.
So now write five answers that i am whiny and that everybody of u got his/her Titan by VNI ratting and then close this post.
Ah and everybody else can open an other Topic with the name Redundant but important: Cloaky camping II
etc.
lets see how many people are annoyed and how many people love to sit on station and doing noting.
My suggestion:
Give the new upwell structures the ability to send out a pulse to deactivate cloaks for 1 min in the whole system.
Active players could warp to save spots in this time to survive and get save.
But afk people get shot and everything is fine.
Greetings
Why didn’t you post here?
Because i want more people to be attracted to this nightmare topic.
Spam is a fantastic way to get ban from the forums.
What nightmare, you’re alliance was weak and is about to be culled.
The fact that you would blame a cloaky camper indicates you never really had what it takes in the first place.
Maybe. So ok u are right. We are not the biggest fish in the pond and deserve to be culled. Lets stick with that. So after ur logic every alliance that has not jet reached the top 10 deserves to be culled by the bigger alliance. Not by a all out war, that could cost their resources as well. But by 1 player with 5-10 accounts.
Ok lets continue that thought.
So the big alliances can kill all smaller ones. But sometimes even big alliances get culled by each other.
Whats the problem u may ask? Thats the natural way of life. Survival of the fittest.
Yeah it is and we both know the end of it. The strongest survives and that is perfectly fine.
So lets do that. We all join the strongest alliance since only they have the right to live. And after that?
We sit afk in the station because we won the game.
So i would like to play a dynamic game with changing forces and epic battles about leadership in the universe and i am willing to grind my way up to the best ships to make these battles come to live.
But with one afk player preventing an whole alliance from effective money making… the war is over bevore the fun part took place.
Please enlighten me what it takes. I want to learn.
I think his point is that if “one afk player” is preventing your “whole alliance” from doing anything at all, then how do you expect to do anything in the game… Grud forbid if an active player should come into your alliance’'s system, what do you do then…? log out and delete your accounts in fear?
You can’t even spell “you”, so there is absolutely no reason to assume you’re capable of much else.
Also… Let’s, yet, life, before
Except they don’t have the right to live. They have the ability to live (most of the time). In Eve, you have the right to fight for what you want. And everyone has the right to fight for what you have. This is especially true in Null.
If you can’t handle that fight, it’s not anyone’s problem but yours.
I know it’s scary, but how about you just counter-drop them? It’s not hard. You don’t even need capitals for it. If they bridge in bombers, undock corms and eat your fill.
If they bridge in a full blops group (bombers/recons/t3c/battleships), undock T1 arty battleships and volley their blops off grid. Kill one of those and you’re probably going to pay for your entire fleet even if they do kill it.
At the end of the day, null is not a safe space. Null is not a place where your alliance can go to earn isk. Null is not meant to be a fair fight.
The rules of null are what we make them. That’s why it’s called null. If your alliance can’t hold itself in a fight, it doesn’t belong there. Go back to lowsec or highsec and farm your isk there.
Pixel courage
If one AFK player is so effective in shutting down an entire alliance’s revenue supply then why don’t you use a single AFK player against your enemies and shut them down too? The answer is obvious: a single AFK player isn’t as effective as you claim, your alliance is just terrible and deserves to fail.
Well, I’ve been won over. Local Chat should not, in my opinion be used for intel.
However, since no advanced space faring race would consider this unimportant, we should have a tool that implements IFF throughout a system. A bit of history here, the UK started working on this in the 1920’s for aircraft, because they believed it was very important, and all Earth Airforce’s today implement it .
The tool should identify friend, foe, and unknown. It should identify ship class, and it should be in real time, and not require constantly hitting some key. RL systems don’t require that. It should also not have an artificial constraint of what type of system. So it should work in Null, Low, High, and Wormhole space.
And then I can minimize Local Chat to the dustbin it belongs in.
Wait… what?
[insert “not sure if serious” meme here]
Here’s a thing.
Create a module, high slot, only fits on the four interceptors that had nullification removed. When triggered, fires off a burst that cycles off all active cloaking devices in range AND puts a five minute cooldown on said cloaking device. Base range of 300km +50km of appropriate skill (say Astrometric Rangefinding). It was suggested to have a spool up of a couple minutes between activation and firing, with no auto-repeat, in order to give non-nullified cloakies some chance at gate camps wit bubbles.
It wouldn’t solve the problem of AFK cloaky campers sitting on safes, but it would be a tool to keep your immediate grid somewhat safer, all while creating emergent content.
