Make Battleships Great Again

landing before they do on short warps. you will have less time to identify where they are warping.

range they land inside bubbles.

reaction time they have to get to a fight and bring their heavy guns

this is true same happened when BC class received upgrade and cruisers and destroyers and frigates did ,nothing broke eve or more importantly stomped on any class.

Not disagreeing with you for the most part…
But what happens when you have a ship that is cheep, almost no tank to speak of, a ginormous cap and power grid and lot’s of CPU and has a very big gun?.. (EG: the ship is a flying cannon Destroyer size)

Then BB’s, Lot’s of materials to build, right?
What about better design?
If this game utilized logic at all for ship design, I could redesign almost every ship into a heck of a lot more efficient hull patterns.

Take the Apocalypse Armageddon and Omen.

By redesigning the hulls a bit, (My rough renditions are to convey simple concept reference only.)

You now have a ship that has about 5x+ hull strength, maybe x4+ internal volume. leaving plenty of room for a larger power grid, CPU bank, Cap, larger engines and due to hull design EM damage will be almost negligible to a slab of steel…? Tritanium? Who knows. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
All made possible with a little common sense, proper design and slightly more trit. (PS: more of the other minerals will be needed if you want all the extras, no T2+ necessary, just MORE basic T1 stuff… Works just as well.

The Armageddon is vastly improved in hull integrity as well, even if internal volume is not as drastically improved. Takes slightly more trit to build…Wooooh, that was hard.

and the Omen, get rid of that Bull **** giant ass pod hanging off the starboard (right) side of the ship

and sling it up under the underbelly to provide more maneuverability, better distribution of armor. (EG: only cover part of it as the rest of the pod id protected by the rest of the ship providing more armor and support elsewhere in the ship.) and hardening the hull overall. and ABSOLUTELY NO EXTRA COST IN MINERALS TO PULL OFF.

And don’t anyone start with (But the pod has sensors and scanning and etc. BS… It is space, it can scan just as well from the under belly as the port or starboard.)

Aaaaaand, What is with the dam segmented armor plates on the Omen?!
Cast them into one continuous plate and integrate them more properly with the hull to form a continuous solid slab! Thus vastly improving the explosive and kinetic resistance attributes of the ship by eliminating week spots in the armor and having the armor cover uncovered parts as a singular rolling slab will eliminate the need for overlapping plates.
Week spots.

Do not get me started on ship engin locations…

bro head on back to star citizen i’m sure it will be out real soon.

EvE in no way tries to be a simulation.

Or just accept BS are not for roaming, but for system defense and larger scale offensive operations where they have time to deploy and bring their EHP/guns to the fight.

So it can never expand it’s repertoire to include simulation and has no choice but to remain a static unchanging platform?

For that matter, why not give BBs a bracket of 3 weapons sets?
One row for light, one for medium and one for heavy weapons?

Same for BCs.

and Cruisers give them a variety of 2 weapons sets, a mix of heavy and light, light and medium, etc

So instead of one row of high slots you could have up to 3 rows of highs.
But each row could be capped or locked by CCP to grant greater flexibility to balance the game in the form of more flexible ships and configurations.

do not go hand and hand… eve has been changing and growing since it started. However it is not and will not be a simulation game. FFS you would literally have to put it on a brand new engine. it would be about as logical to turn it into an FPS
