March 2018 Release - Known Issues & Reporting

Sorry but no - I work in IT and I have to say that what they have done today is total fuckup. No need to pull the punches this time. It ain’t a matter of some small, funny yet not gamebreaking issues - this time we are talking about servers being down, everything laggy, nothing working correctly - in my line of work this kind of issue could mean dead people. Thousands of dead people. Dunno if they fixed it by now, will check after getting some sleep.

The local chat does not display some players, sometimes all. Each time in different ways. It is dangerous to fly in space!

We all live in a WH space now? WTF??? no in local chat - but I see gang in grid.

So I just login. Local still bugged.
CCP. you do this big change and when things are a mess like it is, you don’t roll back? So roll-back is not an option? You would rather let the players (your paying customers) suffer the consequence ? It is clear that this has not been tested properly. You would have picked up this huge issue during QA.
No point in playing now. I guess I will find something else to do today.
CCP, I suggest you relook the deployment strategy of your patches and include rollback, then re-test after which you re-deploy.
I also suggest more frequent updates in information about where you are in fixing the issue(s). When people are informed more frequently, they will be less hostile.

Local and Chat(s) still not working in 0.0.

This ruins the game play…and people do not log in.

It is sad that a patch can be implemented in this quality.

CCP - it is time to ROLL BACK.

All day has gone by and the game is still not working Local is garbage with different players reporting different people in local across multiple toons I see different people and different numbers. Why have you not rolled back yet? Do you really think this is working well enough to keep persisting. Over the last few releases there has been a distinct lack of quality well now this exceeds them all. My score card of your company is

Stable release: FAIL
Playable release: FAIL
Sense to backout: FAIL

Your QA should be sacked your development and producers should all be fired because you have no credibility left

Well not gunna scroll thru all the posts about what ccp screwed up but when i try to scan down mtus etc they show up for like 1/2 a sec then dissappear. They are there as they on dir . What gives ccp ffs

Forgive me if this has already been stated, but if the intention with the chat system change is one step to create a game where 9-4 events might actually play out, then I can get behind that a bit more.

What is more difficult to accept, if some are to be believed, is pushing the patch out to get the much loved fatigue changes into the game at the cost of horribly unfinished chat system with known issues on the test server.

One does not forgive the other.

If there is an end in sight for the chat fixes, at least please share it CCP. Otherwise (if you are not already) if today’s downtime doesn’t at least populate local as it used to on system change, how about rolling this one back?

It’s time to fire the person who brought the xmpp idea , and I am serious now.

Chat system badly broken and I don’t think CCP will fix that soon.

Have 5 toons in the same highsec system and each one is showing something different in the Local channel.

There’s even a fleet of 6 in here that aren’t in any of the 5 Local windows.

Shame on you, CCP. This is unprofessional.

At first, when logging in, Local seems to populate quite timely, then slowly starts to get less reliable in changes over time, until after about 15-20 minutes it stops showing any changes (seems to kind of freeze to the last population state).

Could this god damn awful chat system please stop resetting my chat window UI adjustments every screwing single time I log out and back in? It is utterly annoying that I have to adjust the height of text input box or the width of the user list every single time.

This is no doubt well reported, but Local is still totally borked. I’ve just been in a (high-sec) system where one other pilot was showing - I found two others, one with DScan and the other on same grid - both had been in the system for a loooooooong time (I’m talking maybe as long as a half-hour!) yet neither was showing up. I don’t even know whether the pilot shown WAS in fact even in-system.

I’ve experienced slow updates of Local pretty much wherever I’ve gone, too, so this isn’t an isolated case. As reported above by Octavia Daya, the performance and reliability seem to degrade over time.

Hmmm, almost 0.5k posts here in under 24 hours - is this approaching some record?

EDIT: Local degradation may be related to use of Clear All Content - which is now a far more frequent necessity, given the fact that system channel change is listed historically.
