Mike Azariah for CSM 20 (yes, I am at it again)

That’s preciselly what Production Plan would be - a single BPO-like item with all the workflow design and related BPOs bundled together inside of it.
Best to discuss it in the thread i linked to not derail Mike’s campaign thread

Mike, it’s time to retire from the CSM. Seriously.

You’ve been the EVE equivalent of a grandpa for a long time now who doesn’t actually play the game, just cruises through highsec in a Bowhead full of ships donated by others, hands them out to newbies, and reads patch notes on YouTube like it’s bedtime story hour. That’s not gameplay, Mike.

Tell us, what have you actually played in the past few year? Have you even touched any of the new content?

Robbed a Skyhook lately?

Deployed a Mercenary Den?

Flown a Tholos or Cenotaph?

Undocked in a Mamba or Mekubal?

Ever found yourself caught in a bubble in a lawless system (you know, the new FW mechanic)?

Ever sequenced a single SKIN, god forbid?

Caught a convoy Squall during the Nemesis event?

Moved PI in an new EDENCOM haulers?

Done Homefronts or Drifter Crisis sites?

Pulled containers from a Deepflow Rift?

Have you ever touched Corp Projects or Freelance Jobs, either by creating one or actually completing one yourself?

Crimson Harvest rolled around with new frigate/destroyer combat sites, did you bother running even one, or was reading the patch notes about them enough?

Do you know what’s the going price of a Babaroga these days and how exactly did the MJD nerf to marauders affect your gameplay? Oh wait… right.

Used the updated Compare Tool recently? You know, to actually compare modules like someone who flies real fits?

And how about that beautiful mess of a Ship Info window, did you ever try to actually find a needed attribute in there, or leave any feedback for the devs after realizing how painful it is to use?

So tell us, Mike, is doing the new Detected Relic Sites with escalations in Sov-upgraded space more profitable than doing Sansha relics in Stain? Or is it tough to compare when you’ve hacked exactly zero of both?

You’re not playing EVE, Mike, you’re adjacent to it. And that’s fine. You’re free to keep handing out ships and reading CCP’s blog posts aloud like a friendly narrator for the blind. That does help new players, and it’s appreciated in its own lane. But let’s not pretend that qualifies you to represent the playerbase in the CSM. You’re taking up a seat that could go to someone who’s actually in the trenches, testing new mechanics, breaking things, giving feedback based on actual experience rather than record patch note summaries. We don’t need a mascot. We need representation.

That probably applies to 95%+ of the player base so I fail to see your point.

So I take it that you’re asking these questions of the rest that are applying?

I’ve been here over 13 years and not done most of that, and now you’re going to say that I don’t play?

Fine you might not be going to vote for him but there’s a curious and similar thread in all these posts attacking him for no reason, it’s almost as if it’s the same person over and over using different alts/accounts.

No, not yet. Although this month I celebrate my 66th Birthday (on the first day of voting, no less) and I have considered retiring from running as I do not travel as well as I used to this year I am still in the race.

yeah some of it I have some I have not. I enjoy the events and take part in most of them. I love the new ships especially the cenotaph and tholos.

I could do this line by line but let’s cut to the chase

and that is what I am running as. A representative. A person who takes concerns from the players to CCP in a reasonable manner. Even IF you were right (and you are not) that I do not do the things you listed I would still be a person that listens and takes issues up with CCP . . . you know, a representative of any player who brings legitimate concerns to me.

I play eve my way. That is the beauty of a sandbox game. Your gatekeeping (I assume) is part of your playstyle and you are welcome to it. You can vote for someone who ticks all the above listed items.

Like I said, voting starts on the day I turn 66 years old

your eve grandpa, fighting ageism in his own way

“95% of the player base” aren’t running for CSM. Mike is. That’s the difference.

The CSM isn’t a loyalty award for being around 13 years. It’s not a charity position or a retirement gift. It’s meant to be a representative body, made up of players who actually engage with the current state of the game, understand its systems first-hand, and can provide meaningful, experience-based feedback to CCP.

Saying “I haven’t done most of that either” isn’t the defense you think it is because you’re not the one asking for votes to represent the rest of us. Mike is. And when someone asks for that responsibility, it’s more than fair to question whether they’re still connected to the game on more than just a ceremonial level.

Maybe CCP should make a “Hall of Fame” or an “Honorary Capsuleer Club” for people like Mike, those who helped the game in their own way and want recognition. Great, let him have that spotlight if he wants it. But occupy an active player’s seat on the CSM like it’s a lifetime appointment? It’s not. And let’s be real, even the catalyst handouts he uses to buy votes come from other people’s ISK. He’s not even crabbing ISK himself. If that doesn’t scream “detached from the game,” what does?

Yup just ignore all the other CSM members that have said that Mike is valuable to the team (and other players who vote for him). You are perfectly fine in not voting for him, but making up easily debunked stuff about Mike is a bit out of line.

It’s kind of impressive how the one point that actually matters (that Mike doesn’t really play anymore) keeps getting quietly sidestepped. Instead, we get “but other CSM members say he’s valuable,” as if the council is some sort of self-validating club where mutual praise equals relevance. And yes, he gets votes, handing out catalysts (funded by other people’s ISK) tends to do wonders for name recognition. We can save everyone the effort next year and just let the CSM re-elect themselves over coffee and patch notes.

Again, you are ignoring people who say that he does and are just making stuff up.

Are you kidding? I have met vets who have never once did exploration.. And vets that have never ran FW. This game is far to big for anyone to have done it all or cares to..maybe you will be the first?

Just because Mike may or may not have ran this or that content is meaningless. He has a better grasp on this game than some. While he does not know all aspect of this game.. Do you? If so, give yourself a gold star.

Mike has always been effective on the CSM. I see no reason why he wouldn’t be again. 13 years and still going strong. In 13 years I will be 76. I hope to still be playing and running for the CSM as well.

Mike has a track record of being effective on the CSM. Which by the by he did not win last year. He is not getting on the on CSM as an award for anything. He is campaigning like everyone else to earn that seat once more. If you want to vote for someone else that is your prerogative.
