Oh gawd the wore the hell out can I haves your stuff thingy. Just stop.
The belt blob thing is a bit irritating at times, but why not fly UNDER the rocks? Don’t fly anywhere near the beacon, and if your using mining lasers or strip miners then just reach out as far as they can go? Set a spot outside the belt, far enough that the hunters need to use probes to find you, but close enough so you can Dscan the belt you like and see if they just leave? Dock up and wait them out. Go do something else. Stay in an area long enough to get to know the locals.
Better yet go ahead and fit a cloak on your ship. Fit and improved cloak and watch the Dscan and local.
Look at Z kill mail and see who comes into your area and set them to red or orange. Then if they come in get ready. If some ship warps in and just sits there be aware that it might be a scout. If a Venture comes in, watch and see if its actually mining. Be aware that they can scram you. Or if they can drop a pin near you for the rest of them to warp to.
Be proactive and don’t wait till your locked up. And if they get you just dust yourself off and try again. Fly cheaper ships. The align times of the barges are horrible now, so try and think ahead. Ain’t nothing but pixels in the end dude. Don’t let a few bumps chase you away.
calm down miner…
In all fairness, one could make the same request of threads wherein the OP announces they’re taking their ball and going home. Such threads are common enough to be tedious and irritating, as much as the line, “Can I have your stuff?”
I mean it tho. If you don’t want your stuff, give it here. I ain’t too proud. Free ISK is free ISK.I just got about 230 mil from another player that was leaving.
It was much appreciated!
You sound like someone who doesn’t want solutions, they want to complain.
I never denied that the collision boxes were a problem. I said they’d probably get fixed, and I offered work-arounds to your problem. For your information, I have indeed mined, both before and after the patch, and I’d bet you I’ve spent more days doing mining than you have days in this entire game, since I’ve played this for nine years. It’s almost like I know what To m talking about because I have experience.
But whatever, if you want to quit, that’s up to you. I won’t even ask for your stuff, because I hope you eventually come back after you’ve cooled off. Hell, I’d offer to show you how to make a lot more iak than you’re making right now, but I have a feeling the offer would get thrown back in my face, so whatever vOv.
To be clear, I am asking for your stuff.
From Google Translate:
I tried to dig ore with the fleet. Except for obscene abuse, nothing came to mind. The mineral content in the ore is scanty, but this is half the trouble. The ore is scattered from the center for more than 100 km. I was disappointed in digging ore, the income was scanty, the pleasure was gone. Probably the patch was made not for the navy, but for single diggers on drillships. Hoped for the best, but was wrong. I spent 4 years mining the ore, it’s a pity that it was ruined by the CCP developers, apparently it’s not interesting for them if they did this. I will look for other content in the game. Miner in Hi-sec. Amen.
It helps against hostiles who hunt without cloak or combat probes, so is an additional layer of safety.
Especially in parts of space where people do not stick around when a new name appears in local do you not have time to burn your cloaky alt over. And combat probes will show up on dscan.
So as much as I hate the collision detection while mining, it has rarely been an issue for me. The few times I have had issue, I just target and fly around them via orbit. If you are worried about not being able to warp from collisions, get to the spot you want to mine and align with station and you should be fine if you need to warp out. It is part of what I do to stay safe from ganks
I don’t want a work around. I don’t want to play the way other players play. I came up with my own workarounds before the configuration of the asteroid fields changed.
I guess I’ll type it again. It hasn’t changed since my original post and I repeated it several times but here it is:
The bounding boxes on the large asteroids are too big. AND if that isn’t bad enough–they are invisible.
One more time cuz somebody else wants to jump on here and tell me how I should be playing. Before you do that, read it again. Here it is:
The bounding boxes on the large asteroids are too big. AND if that isn’t bad enough–they are invisble.
That doesn’t have anything to do with how I’m playing or the way you want me to play. It’s simply a fact about the game.
If I can see a space between two gigantic asteroids, my teeny tiny ship ought to be able to fly through that gap. It shouldn’t suddenly drop nearly to a dead stop and scrape against something I can’t see.
That’s all there is to it.
That’s pretty straight forward. I can’t imagine anybody reading that and replying with anything but “me too” or “what they said.” A little unity and some numbers might get some results from ccp. Yet…here we are. Several players passively or directly advocating for leaving this obnoxious bug in their game.
Amazing.
Simply amazing.
You seem agitated.
Xeux - Yeah, I get that way when my ship is stopped by an invisible representation of an asteroid surface that is tens of kilometers away.
I’m weird like that.
I just mined again to test what you said. I was fine. I dunno man.
Fly better.
Maybe The Buddha can help.
Xeux - To heck with him. He always asks me for money.
Gix Firebrand - you might be right. I think only two responses even acknowledged that the hit-boxes were an issue. Everybody else, including you says I’m a dimwit.
Know what I’m gonna do? I’m gonna ACCEPT that and assume that there’s nothing wrong with the game and that I’m off my bean.
Sorry to rock the boat.
I’ve got to go. I’m supposed to be at the “not-here” place and you guys have a big day ahead of you bumping into ridiculously over-sized bounding boxes.
I couldn’t bear to disappoint any of the eager space cadets who wanted my gear so I’m just going to let it rot in the hangar. It’s the only fair thing to do.
I mean literally just go under the rock, fit a higgs and profit.
I think he wants to speak to the manager about the poor service.
