I just got back into EVE and I noticed that miners are now on a 15s timer instead of a 60s time. This makes mining feel way too fast and action packed. The 60s timer felt a lot more slow and chill, and you could still get your ore by turning the miners off part-way through. You can still keep the critical mining thing, too, it doesn’t necessarily have to change. Can we go back to 60s?
Why not post in the topic that you or your friend already made?
There is zero practical difference between waiting 4 15 second cycles for a total of 60 seconds and waiting for one 60 second cycle, besides that you can warp away earlier now if a threat appears and still gain some of the ore, or that you waste less of a cycle when the asteroid is done.
Can you explain why 15 second cycles feel ‘more action packed’ than a 60 second cycle?
As a miner I leave my laser on the asteroid continually until it disappears, so the cycle time could even be 1 second and my gameplay (and my perception of my gameplay) would not change at all!
Why does it change for you?
I like the more “action-packed” mining aspect. Now we just need larger mining holds…
Sorry, I wasn’t aware they had made a post.
Quit mining and start ganking. Most of the time you’re docked or tethered, so it’s even more relaxing than old style mining.
