The thing I find bad is that one can present the actual data, as I did above, and it is just ignored. That means the entire premise of the thread he posted is dishonest and there is no real intention to discuss the matter. When actual facts are irrelevant…what even is the ‘topic’ that one is supposedly going off topic on ?
Please can you both stay on topic it’s not much to ask.
FYI the topic is. “Is there a link between players (new and old) leaving the game and Suicide gankers in High sec?”
The answer is no.
Present the full data instead of cherry picking the bits that make your view point look good and it will be discussed ![]()
The chats and websites do exist, they are greifing this causes people to leave the game therefor they are bad.
Would there be a link between suicide Ganking and players leaving if said chats and websites didn’t exist and only the act of suicide ganking occurred ? Now that’s a good topic of discussion
Gloria has presented something. You on the other hand have presented nothing, ziltch, nada.
Lets see your side of it. Please lavish us with your mound of evidence instead of just posting the same constant jibberish.
There may be a link but unless I see data suggesting otherwise I would expect this niche of niche activities which hardly affects new players directly to be a very small one, and I think it is not nearly as relevant as many other factors that make new players decide to drop the game, like boredom.
A more interesting question could be to wonder which has a bigger effect on new players leaving:
- suicide ganks (directly)
- complaints about suicide ganks which give new players a false impression they’re helpless against those ganks
As an experiment we could stop talking about suicide ganks for half a year to see if this improves the player retention numbers!
Heh, wishful thinking.
What really needs to stop are all the ghost theorists filling all these players heads full of overblown events and planting that bad reputational seed in the first place.
I wonder how many times certain people…or a certain person has actually talked to these so called players and showed them these chat logs and websites even before they have a chance to get knee deep in what EVE has to offer. All those bogus reviews from people that didnt have a clue themselves. All it takes is one tiny incident to be blown all out of proportion and it becomes a road block to players who may have been otherwise interested.
If you can cut that out, we’ll have players galore.
Is there a channel for Why have I not been ganked yet? ![]()
Or is it because I simply pay attention to my surroundings?
Stay on topic and stop asking people to go off topic .
That trick won’t t work
Indeed…it is called ‘poisoning the well’. And time and again the ‘think of the children !’ crowd are more concerned with posturing and being seen to be correct 100% of the time than they ever are about the actual children.
The ganking ‘threat’ is vastly over-stated. And the whole notion of these supposedly venomous, vile, psychopathic gankers cackling like Macbeth’s witches is pure hyperbole.
Before I joined Safety, I blew up Aiko’s loot hauler. There were no vile words. No rants. No demand to refund it. The whole thing just passed by with barely a word. That is what gankers are really like.
Carebears are cancer. I may not be the voice of reason. But I am The voice of Truth.
I don’t want any miners in my EvE Online.
But… but… this I.A slop begs to differ, princess. I know we’re not supposed to like A.I but once in a while it gives good answers. What about the 'conomy?
Slop: Miners are essential to EVE Online’s economy because they extract the raw minerals and ores needed to manufacture ships, modules, ammunition, structures, and countless other items. Without miners supplying those basic resources, industrialists wouldn’t have the materials to build things, and the entire player-driven economy would eventually grind to a halt.
I manufacture all my ships from reprocessed ORE strip miners and Aoede mining upgrades.
Do you mine your own ore?
Can one be a salt miner? Miners should celebrate The Code. It is a system to keep ore prices higher and incentivize mining wage increases. Gankers work hard to keep AFK miners/bots from ruining the market. This is why indi guys also support ganking. The trick with EvE is to understand when you should let things work for you instead of against you. Gitgud. #fuPH #fuTTT #fuSrS
I already have plenty of ships.
There is no longer a need for miners of any kind.
I’ve spent many years buying the ore in various ways. TKP usually the largest orders in our areas on both sides of the coin and the machine operating it if reasonable. I can see which activities generate which types of minerals. Your statement is not too far from reality. Unfortunately. The prices are already a warning. Anyway different subject different threads…
