Moon Mineral Distribution Update

My stations will never pay for themselves.I’m not one of the people who’ve owned one for a year+.
I’ve only had mine fora month or so. It took 2 months of farming ore in belts and other people’s moons to afford the stations and drills I have. Now they’ll be worth much less than I payed for them, and good luck making the stations pay for themselves. Only one of them had pulled ore from it, and I got around 400 mil out of it before other people picked it clean.

The idea that every athanor that’s up has payed for itself is just stupid.
What’s worse is the lack of information that lead to me putting those stations up, believing that CCP would leave at least some trit in the moon ores, even after removing all of the base ores. That was false. As a result, I’ve sunk around 4 billion in stations, modules and fuel that I’ll never break even on, much less see a return on the investment.

LMAO.

Capitals are stronger than any subcap, in some cases able to survive a few of them.

The fact of your statement though full of salt is evidence that some smart group of experienced players, no matter where they normally live have REKT your day, and no im not concerning myself with the character you are posting with…im pointing at you as the player.

And besides, a Carrier or even a Super Carrier alone should be easy to defang and kill by a group of players that know what they doing with the right ships and fits.

Interesting change.

Great change, Eve needs to be stirred every now and then to stop from becoming stale  And for all those worrying about getting less minerals you have to remember that the rarer something gets the more expensive so don’t worry about your R4 moon mining losses in the first month or so in month 2 the prices of R4 materials will be double especially something which has massive demand such as tungsten.

How do you think we did it before?

Bot fighting should be done with different tools than changing game economy.

Exactly! Its not like this is news, they said months ago that they were looking at potential changes. A lot of the replies in this thread seem to be “shock posting” but I think we’ll see some new changes coming up for industry/mining soon for the better.

That isnt the problem, they did warn us about Moon Mining changes but I don’t think anybody expected them to go as far as they did.m That is the issue. Fine do some changes but not as drastic. Take away the high end stuff like Spodumain etc but leave the low end stuff like veld still

Has it occurred to anyone that conduits in Trig invasions are an almost infinite supply of trit. Surely people can drop their Rorquals into completed conduits and empty them before they despawn?

To be fair it won’t get crazy expensive… gun mining may just be a thing again (if it already is not)

It is only a nerf if you are moon mining now… and if they manage to increase consumption of atmo gases and hydrocarbons then it may still be quite good isk… evaporative deposites and silicates are good isk already.

What are you talking about? What reserves?

/me takes look at his corp hangar: Oooh… what are these ships? what are they doing here? :stuck_out_tongue:

Bollocks, sell order are as profitable as they used to be… you just have to be more stratgeic about your pricing and not keep 0.01 isking them all the damn time

That is because most industrialists, while having oversupply of stuff, will sell them at the price of manufacture at current mineral price + some margin

What belts are you seeing? Most belts I have seen are small… although value of ore there is still pretty close to 100M. And true, there is plenty of belts, especially once one moves out of more densely populated systems.

You must be doing a lot of things wrong. Even w/o trying I end up making 60M+/h running l4 missions. All it takes is to complete one or two missions and to loot and salvage wrecks.

At Christmas? If so then it had plenty of time to pay of itself. With 7 day pulls @ 500M in ore value alone (when compressed it is worth far more) you would have 12 pulls by now…
And why put 4B in rigs when just one t1 rig for stability [and even then it is to increase density of belt generated] is more than enough?

Miners from hs will be fine. The only one losing a bit are new athanor owners who didn’t keep track of upcoming changes (declared in january already). In fact they are going to be making even more isk now that shortage is coming into effect. To be fair moon mining in hs as it was now was crazy profitable. It had to be nerfed.

If the value of R4s is high enough then people will still mine it… after all it will be profitable. Problem really is with value of hydrocarbons and atmospheric gases.

Show us on the doll were the catalyst has stung you

If you put them last month then they should have been paying off themselves right now… and they did anounce that they are going to do precisely what they have done back in january.
Also you shouldn’t be afk out in space.

Items will not be obtainable with microtransactions… but going back to subscriptions would be actually quite good.

Fit athanor costs around 1-1.3B. Every 7 day you can pull 300M+ isk (in uncompressed ore… compressed is way more). That is to say, in 1 month or so it should have already paid for itself. If you put t2 rigs on it then you have only yourself to blame.

There was information that basic ores are being removed from them and that moon ores will have changes in mineral composition.

T2 ships basically useless and to complicated to build for years now.

Way to screw w/ the miners and industrialists yet again CCP.

Wall of generic memes is generic.

The information they put out did not suggest they would be completely removing trit from moons.
That changes moon mining completely, not just nerfing it. If you you look through my posts, I had been asking for a while for more information. Decided to put the stations up because even if there was severely nerf minerals, it woulda been fine if trit was left in it.
Obviously I guessed wrong based on the available information, and it cost me a small fortune. A quick meme about how they told us changes were coming, while completely ignoring the other details is garbage. There’s no way I would have put those stations up if I had known trit was being removed. Not only that, but like I said I’ve only gotten one moon spawn so far. I’ve had them for a month, but held off on deploying them because I was unsure about the changes.
It’s not just a simple calculation of I got stations on x day and suddenly all 3 produce ore for me 6 days later. Even if I were to restart the cycles now, and do a 2 month maximum pull. I could still never pull enough ore out of them before others gobble up the ore, to recover the cost of the drills and stations.

I put in alot of hours to get those 3 stations, and the drills for them.
Feels really bad to get ■■■■ on like this, after all that hard work.

Observations
eve is primarily a pvp game
there are alot of people who like eve that dont like pvp
alot of people that dont like pvp, mine
you cant dps when your dead, you cant pvp in ships without mining
the state of mining suggests either a non value by devs or a lack of imagination
all this could have been fixed by getting more people to play eve

You’re forgetting alliance taxes. SRP taxes, rental fees, sales taxes, relist taxes, transport fees, brokers fees and all the costs of a fleet coming out when the structure got attacked. Drilling platforms never were about making ISK, only draining it away. Its as big a con job as the rorqual.

Over the next couple of months I am going to make some slight changes to see how it affects the economy of CCP. In an attempt to stir it up for no good reason I will stop paying my monthly membership for my mining alts. I’ve noticed that there is a dire need to reduce the amount of paid accounts you wish for members to have so I will oblige and turn off my auto pays. During these trying times I greatly appreciate you effort in making the game unsavory thus making it much easier to not waste the extra cash each month to upgrade from Alpha.

I have to admit, I’m really not looking forward to these changes. I play solo, don’t have any alts, and rely heavily on moon mining to provide the backbone of the minerals for the stuff I build such as T1 capitals. Without this steady source of materials, I’m just not able to keep up with the competition. My only hope is that I can find stable sources to protect my plans and preferred playstyle in the short to medium term.

As I said for my self above, remember to turn off your auto pay, you no longer need to Omega your mining alts. Thanks CCP for helping us cut down our monthly bills during this most uncertain of times.

Ahh…more trash comments and replies that have no bearing on the incoming changes…thought ppl playing this game was smarter then this lol…what can ya do

I am glad to see you guys are finally tackling this part of EVE. One question, are these changes part of your effort to “tighten the belt” on mineral sources, or is this a permanent change?

Mining will now go back to being a profession rather than a charity for mentality challenged children.

Excellent.

I fell for the 3month 3MTC offer now Im locked in on 4 accounts unfortunaley. Assuming why they made the sweet offer in the 1st place probaly knew this would put a bunch of people off so they locked in as many as they could before they announced this change. Okay tho after subs evetually run its course. No salt as with most thing you move on and I win EvE.
