GG CCP You have managed to kill another HS/LS industrial group over here, half the people disbanding and quitting, so the rest of us get to do the same since we can’t defend ourselves going forward.
since the income was quite generous for quite some time, many moon mining facilities are already beyond the break-even point.
40+ structures coming down now, not worth the fuel over the next few weeks/months waiting to see if you guys are going to make the ore mined worth while.
Have the structures paid for themselves? Short answer is No. There is no way to enforce contribution to structure upkeep so a small handful of people have always foot the bill and the time effort involved in setting up and fueling structures.
Not to mention again that between the game changes and the alliance dissolving everyone seems to be quitting or ‘taking a break’.

CCP could you please set the fuel consumption of athanors/tatara that are anchored on a moon to zero ?
Spoiler Alert There’s no way they ever will.
Clearly their intent was to remove high sec and wormhole moon mining completely, but like so many other nerfs they lack the balls to just come right out and say that’s their intent, and instead just nerf things to the point of not being viable so they can claim they aren’t purposely ending any playstyle.
They did state their intent to make isk harder to obtain and create more isk sinks.
As a casual gamer though with a full time job and responsibilities so far these changes are really suck.
Lmao, if you were running 40+ structures and they haven’t paid for themselves yet, you’ve been doing something horrifically wrong.

Yep…you should be able to pay off an athanor in about 2-4 weeks depending on module/rigs and the quality of the moon
Well…they finally did the change (not sure when…either today or yesterday). Yes…the basic ore is gone but they didnt nerf the amount. Still a 7 day cycle will get you roughly 3.3 m3 of ore. Basic ore has been replaced with other random R4 ores so moon probing will have to be redone if you want particular R4 ores
Profitability…yer I think you will still make alittle, but obviously nowhere near as much as to what we were getting. How much profit you get will be how CCP adjust the BPO with those R4 material in them, and I hope CCP does this sooner rather then later.
Reprocessed all mine within 2 day…like the other guy said, lucky CCP gave us that long. You never know when they change stuff in the game these days

This is true, i’ll see if they mess around with R4 amounts before I make a decision on culling some omegas.
It seems like PLEXing multiboxers are going to scale down the amount of Omega accounts they maintain because of these latest changes. This is a very healthy development imo. (Edit, posted wrongly as answer to someone else)

We fired a HS drill yesterday, which will now generate around 35% of the previous ore value on the same schedule. This will no doubt vary moon to moon, but essentially having 1/3 of the value, that kills the motivation to mine it out.

Yes, buying PLEX to sub is more valuable than paying real life currency for a sub.
As far as we know all PLEX in the game were purchased using real life Dollars.
However, it is a game and if CCP chose to “print” PLEX out of thin air then they could - they don’t really need to back it up with Gold Reserves …it’s a game.
