Need Larger Font Size

Im using 2560x1440 110%scale @31.5inch monitor, 125%scale makes my ui too compact to place all ingame window and 110%scale with huge font is too small to see words clearly

I’m running it in 3840x2160 @150% with Huge text. On a 39.5” LG monitor. You may need a larger monitor

The game definitely needs more in-game font customization options.

Why fix your own problem when you can demand someone else fix it for you?

whats wrong with you? i could ask for features because i paid for this game.

if this game were as perfect as you imagined, then all qol updates would be as stupid as ur logic. could ur simple brain understand such simple words?

Small monitor with huge resolution is your problem.
You can politely suggest improvements, but you have no rights to demand anything.

(Aside, 2560x1440 27’’ with 110% seems fine. I can fit 4 windows on 2 monitors if I need, and it all fits.)

Please review your logic course, then define “politely suggest improvements” and “demand anything”. Also, don’t assume others should feel the same way you do.

Asking for larger font makes no sense.

playing this game makes no sense too

Care to explain your issue?

CCP won’t enjoy making larger fonts. Ask for features they’ll have fun building.

Edit

Of course this is a paradox because anything the players ask for isn’t fun to jmplement. I mean why become the director if you have to implement things you didn’t think of yourself!

I will walk myself out

Current system is fine.

I use a 48” 4k monitor.

I have a couple of things to say on this matter. First and foremost, it is perfectly reasonable to ask or even demand readability upgrades. That said, the OP’s issue is indeed “too high resolution for monitor size”, and I can explain without being rude about it. Mind you, all of this only really applies if text and icons are a matter. This isn’t all that applicable to TV shows and movies.

I have noticed over the years, through using many different computers and resolutions, that there is a sort of perfect resolution to display size to be found. Three levels of it in particular that I noted.

Firstly, the bare minimum display size to have any hope of seeing things at a certain resolution without hurting your eyes in the least is the second number of the resolution divided by 100 times 2 in display inches. In other words, for 2550x1440 would need 28 inches at bare minimum, and even then, you need near-perfect vision or reading glasses for it to be comfortable.

The “sweet spot” for a given resolution is the first number divided by 100 added to the second number divided by 100. For 2550x1440, that would be 39 inches.

The absolute maximum peak for a given resolution before things seem overblown or goofy is the first number divided by 100 times 2. For 2550x1440, that’s 50 inches.

My advice is simple: stick with 1080p resolution. It’s a sweet spot and a good fit for pretty much everything. This is all part of why I consider the resolutions beyond 1080p to be more a fad than anything. To get the full experience out of a 4K resolution, you need a bloody 80 inch display.

I’m really glad to see others with similar concerns expressing their needs in an organized way here on the forum, and thank you for the detailed explanation of the issues we’re all facing. I’d like to elaborate a bit more on the specific problem I’m dealing with:

Im using a 2560Ă—1440 31.5-inch monitor at 125% scale. My game client is set to 2560Ă—1330, with the bottom space used for displaying EVE-O thumbnails. For many UI elements in the game, all I care about is simply whether they are present or not. For others, though, I need to clearly see what the element actually is.

For example, when I lock a target, I don’t need to clearly identify the picture in the target list. If I want to know what ship it is, I just check its type in the overview. Another example: in nullsec, the top-left UI elements such as sovereignty, system cyno-jammer status, ADM, etc.—even with just a quick glance, I can immediately understand everything they represent. But for textual elements, I need to read the key parts clearly in order to understand the information.

The core issue I’m facing is that after adjusting the UI scaling, these UI elements become smaller, which gives me more screen space to place various windows—this part is great. But the text also becomes smaller, which forces me to sit closer to the screen just to read it clearly—this part is not great at all.

I play on a 3840x2160 50in Samsung TV and most the UI is super small even at the larger sizes.

I found a temp fix which was to play in windowed mode, but things are still too small.
