Pinned icons in NEOCOM are a bit too dim, so it can be difficult at times to see them… I think an option to adjust their brightness would be a welcome change on top of the new option to color them!
I think it would be best to add a new setting to control the brightness of all pinned icons altogether, but it can be implemented the same way colored icons were to allow individual control.

Don’T worry, this is just personal perception. It’s a you-problem and nothing is wrong with the icon brightness. CCP has totally not changed or worsened the icon brightness with the introduction of icon colors.
Maybe wearing sunglasses is CCP’s intended way of playing EVE. 
I bet CCP noticed all those ‘EVE is too bright’ threads lately and took action!
Good point, very good observation. I completely forgot about those. CCP took care of that in the worst, archetypical CCP way possible.
