If you want to stretch it into your typical propaganda effort than don’t expect me to partake in that, I said impact you said problem, you need to define what you mean by that because I never said it was a problem. I get told by people that I am not clear so I am trying to be clear, I never said it was a problem, I used the word impact for a reason.
Seeing as I said newish players and when they were moving into mining barges and exhumers and you are saying newbros can we first define what you mean by that, for me anyone of two years of less is lacking key game experience if they have not tasted too many different areas of the game.
Being blown up and podded is often good learning experience. However it depends on the frequency and ability to avoid being blown up, either in perception or in actual action. If the player blames the mechanics like they did with bumping as it was then we have a problem. If the mechanics are not to blame and they were not careful enough with the caveat that certain activity increases risk in any case then they have to develop those skills. To me someone getting upset and leaving the game in hisec without developing those skills is a shame. However there is only so much you can do to minimize risk at times.
The context of the discussion you inserted yourself into was laregly around the “impact” on newbies by gankers. When you then say “you are wrong. the impact is over here” what you are saying is “actually the real problem is this thing”
So yes…… This is just another example of you being deliberately obtuse and unclear intentionally.
EDIT: seems we are playing the edit game again.
Which one of the 3 sentences you quoted is the trash one?
I have avoided this thread ever since it got made into the so called official Ganking thread by the ganking community, for a start the title is misleading and if you want it inclusive you should change the title otherwise it is just a ganker whine and insult thread.
My last post in here was 1st March and was over 800 posts ago, and I suspect it was possibly moved into this thread, remember that facts speak for themselves.
It reminds me of the AFK cloaking camping thread which I avoided when it ended up being a thread to insult people who had different views, how progressive?
Anyway, back to your whine and insult circle, do enjoy!
But that is by the same people who complain that it takes over a month to even train skills for a barge, and longer if you include training for drones. Anyone flying a barge has not just stepped out of the NPE ( Edit : I don’t know if the ‘free Retriever’ package violated that. If it did, that was silly )
I used to regularly mine in a barge in Mirilene and sell the ore in Vittenyn and never once got ganked. Aiko’s crew seldom visit that area. I think many noobs just have no idea that some systems ( such as Isanamo ) are a lot more dangerous than others to mine in.
The irony is that most noobs are probably oblivious to the fact that they could be making more even from level 2 combat anomalies than from mining in a Venture. It takes 20 minutes in a Venture to get 400K ISK…whereas 5 minutes in a level 2 combat anomally can make the same amount. The anomalies are more limited than asteroid belts, but even so I counted a dozen or so within 4 systems radius. Even doing one every 10 minutes is still twice the ISK of Venture mining…and one gets a whole load of goodies from loot.
Yes, it is true that new players don’t make that distinction, but don’t assume that is totally the case. Many players fit cheap and build the loss of their mining ship into the calculations of profit / loss and in terms of time spent and cost of hauling. My advice to you is to delve a bit more into indy.
I once had a discussion with a player who got ganked quite often in Caldari space, but his yield was such that he was way more efficient then me in my skiff and my cost in time to haul. After that discussion I gave up thinking that people were dumb to not fit a tank. It depends what you want to do to be honest.
And you got me to reply in this dreadfully titled thread, nerf ganking, what a load of old cobblers.
