Buried up in this massive thread, when i asked about his main and PVP activities:
Ok then buy the biggest hauler and travel through HISEC for a while until your ship {being one of the most massive ships in the game} gets bumped by a smaller ship so you can’t warp. Then just sit there and watch your ship blow up in front of your face due to a misused mechanic and this is what you call “PvP”. Thats not PVP the hauler cant shoot back let alone move, the bumping needs to go then if you get popped well tough but it’s not a fun way to go when you can’t actively respond.
Peace out!
I have not been bumped continually in 15 years of playing eve. If you can afford a freighter you can afford a webbing alt. And I move billions every few days.
Also the people who are being continually bumped until they get ganged or more than likely those that auto pilot which leave extra time for people to see you and plan.
Laziness = death in eve its a way of life.
Yeah 15 years compared to a newer player massive difference and game can lose these newer players, I move stuff too did some contracts 2 nights ago. It needs to go to keep newer players is what Im talking about as if they work very hard to get a big hauler it can cause rage quits. New and solo players may not have webbing alts…
Newer players need to be educated thou, they don’t need to be flying freighters they can train into blocade runners. or just fit their industrial with decent align time and tank.
And dying as a new player is completely acceptable they need to realize that its fine to die. Coming from other games where a loss is something massive does not help the new bro’s in adapting to eve.
It’s better for their overall happiness inside Eve if they start to think about risk vs reward early on and plan accordingly and be ready for that inevitable loss.
Agree and when I lost my providence I hadn’t even heard of bumping this is 1/2 the problem with new solo players. My prowler gets a lot of use but Im aiming my comments at early/new starters primarily as the thread heading alludes to this…I was new I didnt know about bumping. But oh well I don’t think they will change that mechanic.
I think CCP made it so that if you are bumped for 5 minutes or something cant remember the exact time that your ship goes into warp automatically to counter perma bumping.
Bumping for a short period in order to setup a gank is still possible thou.
Bigger doesnt mean better.
It just means bigger.
3 minutes, ROW.
Wow I didn’t even know that hey thats a good start so at least they have acknowledged it now.
3 mins to cry for someone to help lol, thanks for the new info boys {been off game a few years}
Losing stuff and learning from it is part of the natural learning process in EVE (and real-life), though in opposition with IRL here you get unlimited amount of second chances so is pretty mild in comparison if you think about it.
My god. We really need a test for anyone who wants to write anything about ganking. This is getting tiresome and extremely annoying.
Please for gods sake, if you come here to comment on how ganking is bad and it should be nerfed, at least verify, that what are you claiming is true so you don’t look like idiot.
Bumping was nerfed 4 years ago already, there is a 3 minutes timer which if runs out you warp no matter what.
Technically it is. Let me break it down for you.
PvP stands for
Player versus player.
In this case, player A has a ship with guns on it.
They use those guns to “verses” another player. In this case, player B, which does not have guns.
Just because player B doesn’t shoot back, because -insert reason here- doesn’t nullify that the engagement is one player vs another player even if player B is neutered.
EvE is a PvP game at its core. From ship combat to market transactions. It’s you against everyone else. And if you don’t like that, then I suggest Elite Dangerous for you.
By the way ask any Battle Nereus victim how defenseless T1 haulers are and how they can’t fight back.
Orca.
They are allowed to cheat because their code allows it and CCP doesn’t think it is a high enough priority to fix. There answered.

Sigh, Don’t Fly what you can’t… blah blah blah
The statement is correct, and pointed out a few times before, but again don’t expect anyone to read this long history.
Been around much longer than a year. Long story short made the alt here to ensure I steer clear of politics. If people would or wouldn’t care in Alliance I don’t think so, but takes the element out of the conversation of well, look you guys killed a miner, or this or that. New player, I mean can’t say anything. And was talking earlier maybe I make this account Omega and try and train up for Proving Grounds as I like it, but harder to get access to.
I have lost more than you have ever owned ever.
I have not kept anything from you, go back and read the post if you.
If done trying to uncover something that doesn’t matter, I guess we can get back to the conversation. Thanks for the assumptions though.

This is correct, one of a few steps CCP has already taken to push ganking down, more work needed to be balanced, but getting there.

Eve is a PVE game at its core. Literally the entire Lore/Story of Eve is PvE… And that is only PvP for cowards too scared to go do real PvP.
