Nerf Ganking Megathread

I wish that would hold true. Mechanically yes, but even now, with Alliances holding SOV, space is still controlled by Coalitions and taxed by Coalitions.

Nothing would change, except where the ownership sits.

I think the more likely change in sov would be to just remove sov mechanics all together and let anyone put down IHUBs, etc. Ownership through active possession rather than a flag.

Fozzie indicated that was one of the proposals when Aegis Sov was being developed and it would achieve all of the above (ie. no ownership means even a single player alone could possibly own a system - but be subject to the will of neighboring groups).

I thought you just paid for everything.

Esp. Sov.

I play - and enjoy - both games, JJ. It doesn’t have to be either/or.

Fair enough, if you have the time, more power to you. I play Eve 90% of my gaming time, and I have a couple of Omega accounts, and that pretty much takes up my gaming fund. But I can see where going back and forth could offer some possible benefits.

But Eve, my main game to play, is why I want to figure out how to get more people in the game and stay with it. Buy Omega accounts to fund the game, and allow more years of playing. I don’t think the game is dead, but honestly you don’t want to get that close to change, you want to adapt and change well before that.

JJ

I like this thought, if the system isn’t used, it you don’t keep possession of it .

JJ

What if its not defended?

I mean, if not defended I would assume the attacker takes the IHUB down or at least starts the process.

JJ

Just checking that used included defending

The best game change CCP could make is to bring back the old war deck system where small orgs can have some fun.

Did you catch the reddit post about the guy thinking that war deck prices should be raised to a bil, because “it’s too cheap to annoy people?”

I am fine with that along as he pays my subs so that I can pay the 1 billion

A rather good idea. It would impact the War-Deck-Industrie.
For the game the 2nd deadliest business model. Maybe abit to high but 0.5-0.75 Billions would be a good price.

Yeah, we need less PvP in this PvP game, and more reasons for HS PvP’ers to coalesce into larger and larger groups, which will make it harder and harder for war targets to fight back. Everyone is going to love that.

I know, I know, some HS griefer is about to screech at me that you can completely opt out of war decks, but I want the incentives to opt in, without actually have to opt in. I mean, why should I have to change the way I play the game just to not get annoyed by people who can’t do real PvP?

Checkmate griefers.

Not a PvP game, it is a game that has PvP in it.

JJ

You call it pvp if a alliance 100 ships is ambushing a corp of 5 ships?
Eve doesnt need larger and larger groups. Eve needs diversity.

You can believe what you want. It doesn’t matter at all. It is not an argument.

Btw, you didn’t understand what I wrote either from your reply lol.

Shipwreck Jones Checkmate went with that comment so easily poof.

  • The name literally stands for “Everyone Versus Everyone,”
  • it features unrestricted PvP (versus some form of consensual only PvP)
  • devs have literally said things along the lines of, “if you don’t want to interact with other players, then this game might not be for you”
  • Devs have said that “players were the real content of Eve.”

Seems to me like you’re trying to put Eve into a box that conforms to what you want out of the game, rather than based upon what it actually is, or what the devs intended.

@Sine123
Checkmate unpoofed.

This is certainly not to say that you will guide other players with your actions to the exit door. This is stupid and for sure not in ccp’s interest. These are players who pay CCP. While you only pay for your account with plex. In the end, I don’t care. it’s not my job attached to the game.

Being a Nerf Ganking thread, when I refer to PvP is combat PvP. If you want to go down some rabbit hole that buying and selling small ammo is PvP would agree it is interaction but not a good input to this thread.

Please go to EveOnline.com and checkout what the MMO is about. And after you read the home page do you think this is a PvP game only?
