Nerf Ganking Megathread

Indeed, I’m currently having to undergo expensive hypnotic regression therapy to help me get over the severe PTSD from losing a pawn. My psychotherapist says I may never get over it, and could end up shouting obscenities or even ‘good fight !’ at lamp posts as I walk down the street. Chess is clearly a game played by psychopaths and needs radical alteration so nobody ever loses pieces.

I was losing a game but I cried and they reimbursed my pieces!

I was told that sitting quietly on a tiled floor and bouncing a hand ball off a wall was a quiet soothing relaxing game, until the wall GWaNKKed me. It didn’t bounce the ball back directly into my open hands.

I was so angry that it made me get up and reach for the ball. Stupid wall. It didn’t even say “good game.” It clearly had it in for me, and it made me yell obscenities, and death threats at it.

The only option was to have the wall removed so it wouldn’t illicit an emotional response from me anymore.

even if I was at the screen not afk, my ship doesn’t have any guns to shoot back, and you know this, as that’s the reason you’re shooting me to begin with lol.

if you wanted a challenge you’d be elsewhere after all.

I would never shoot a ship with guns.

That’s what I thought. Then this happened.

Not sure how I killed that evil GAWNKeRz executioner with my lonely defenseless venture.

But I was really mad that he tried to GWWEnK me and illicit an emotional response.

why you mad about it, that’s what you’re trying to do here after all with all these sarcastic posts haha.

No. I was trying mine.

He was trying to ruin my day.

True I can see right through the lines of text  about the outcome after Concord’s weakness was exposed by what Deathless" said when he Interrupts Concord and Diplomatic Crisis

But you have the most powerful weapon in all of Eve. Even more powerful than an entropic disintegrator. It’s called not watching Netflix while mining.

With the skillful application of this super-weapon, I have never ever been ganked while mining !

lol. Nice try.

It’s true. The most powerful weapon in EvE is knowledge and situational awareness.

Yes i agree on that, but when u don’t know its coming, you don’t know. It’s not possible to be aware of what everyone in the system is planning, but i do try to be for sure.
As much as i hate to admit the times I’ve lost a ship mining they were my fault for doing something stupid, or taking a risk that i did not need to take.
I have avoided ganks every time I’ve gone out mining however by being aware of everything i can, and flying non attractive ships that aren’t cost effective for anyone to target me.

It WOULD be nice to fly a max yield hulk everywhere i go just sucking up the belts like a madman…But in order for my mining to make any profit at all, i realize that’s not going to work.

If i want to mine, which i do, every day, i listen to the gankers when they pretty much tell me exactly what to do to be safe!
Doesn’t mean i still don’t want that max yield hulk lol. When i get more skills and able to bring it to them gankers, ill be doing it, is all fun, and a game. People take this stuff way too seriously getting all salty over losing a ship or having a different point of view to someone else.
Best believe it, someone ganks my ship, ill be chasing them down soon as i can haha! Thats what i think eve’s about.

What is it about mining you like?

Asking as an ex-and still sometimes-miner myself.

Good attitude you have btw

I like your attitude, try to catch them on the gates when they are one the way to kills, it saves people and they get rather salty. Have fun!

i like it because i get to help people that mine by boosting them and providing compression in the orca, new players really appreciate it, and i like to help. ive met some really cool people that i talk to all the time.

ive concentrated on drone skills a lot since i started and ive done everything i can to get max yield from them, so i like to use them.

Thanks for your question!

Good lad.

How does a noob manage to lose 1.92 billion ISK worth of Orca just 9 days after joining Eve, and 400m ISK worth of Retriever the following day at the exact same location in a 0.4 security system ?

9 days in I was still flying a Venture in highsec and even a Procurer was weeks away, and I had the staggering sum of 50m ISK in my wallet.
