A fool and his money are soon parted.
What’s crazy is that he managed to lose more in 2 days of mining for ISK to buy ships…than the current combined value of all my Apocalypses, Ravens, Praxis, Feroxes, destroyers. frigates, yada yada yada ( about 200 ships ) that I have accumulated over 10 months. If he had that much money and was in Eve for PvP or PvE…he might just as well have bought all those ships.
my brother used to play eve, and he gave me all his isk when I stopped playing the game. I spent it on skill injectors and bought the ship I liked the look of. was a stupid use of the head start I was given, couple of months in and I have a lot less money than when I started haha.
you’re right, fool and money are easily parted, but I’m learning how things work here, and am learning from my mistakes.
I don’t mind admitting I have made plenty of them.
I wasn’t mining for isk to buy ships, I was mining because I like to mine. I already had the ships
But the fact that you mine in 0.4 space means you must like the risk. I mean, if simply the act of ‘mining’ was what you like, there’s no end of highsec systems where you’d see a ganker once in a blue moon. So you must be in lowsec for the extra ISK…but then I have to ask, to what end ? Simply to sit on a pile of ISK ? Nobody knows what ISK anyone has. It’s not like people go around with a ’ I have 100bn ISK’ tag above them.
I was mining in hisec, then thought to myself how bad could it be to go in to losec. I actually thought to myself I’m in a big ship, surely I can go in for a look while I’m close and take a look. I’ll keep to myself and I’ll be fine lol.
orca was poorly fitted, and I didn’t really know how to fit anything properly (still aren’t the best but it’s getting better).
I know the ores were different from reading the info in game, but I didn’t know that they were. I got in there, and found a belt and started mining, was feeling pretty good for a couple minutes thinking this is pretty good, and nice money coming in. then I got blown up before I really know what was going on.
went in again I think the next day to try and outsmart them and get some ore I was denied the day before, but got killed instantly as they were waiting at the gate lol.
the first time I was just looking around, the second time it was about trying to get something even though someone didn’t want me to have it . I still go to losec sometimes, I’ve also lost a skiff too. that one a rush as I knew they were there. yeah I enjoy it, it is fun. losing a ship doesn’t really bother me if I’m having fun, but these days I do just mine in hisec, because I have wasted all the money I had at the beginning having fun, and now I have to be a bit more careful as I can’t just keep buying ships lol.
im also trying to get branch out into other things now, but I still mine every day I can. is it so hard to believe I like it for what it is? I guess someone got to do it, and people buy the ore and ice so I’m helping someone out I guess.
I don’t have hardly any isk now, I’m not mining
for the isk. there’s lots of better paying things I could do
You should join a corp that has mining fleets. Not only is there the added safety of numbers, but you also get the mining boost from others as well. The corp I am in ( Absolute Order ) has such fleets…and also has sufficient people to provide intel on where gankers are. We also have PvE and PvP sections. Nobody needs to go it alone in Eve.
I was in a Corp for about a month, but it was shut down now. I’m in another Corp now though, and the focus is a bit different. Im still mining every day but trying other things now too so hopefully soon enough I’ll be able to defend myself
If you ever hit a point that you want to try a Rorqual and have the support around to do so, let me know. I’ll contract you a spare of mine.
Great attitude and welcome to the game and the forum.
Your king got taken by a pawn. Please make an effort to keep up while you beat a dead horse.
thank you. I just may do one day
Kings don’t get taken. Please read the rules of chess.
Flog. ‘Flog a dead horse’.
It’s Sunday evening, 22.18 (21.18), and Sasha can think of nothing better to do than nit-pick. Please, have mercy, Tessa…
Danish chess grandmaster quote; giving up the queen for a rook and two minor pieces is sometimes called a “queen sacrifice” , but since a rook plus two minor pieces is more valuable than the queen
Rooks support the pawns and ensure the advancement on the board.
A Queen does not care for her pawns and will gladly sacrifice them one at a time without and concern for there own advancement as it would mean that there would become two queens and that first queen will have to compete with the other queen.
Must I continue the story of why a Queen is only powerful when the other pieces on the board support her demand for ISk?
Says who ? If we’re into just making stuff up…then I’ve taken the entire universe. I say so.
