Except that your claim is that because people can shoot other people in game their intent can’t be measured, even though we can clearly see they are “harvesting tears”.
Except that in most cases there is no attempt to extort ISK.
It’s not one guy though, there are many such instances.
Seriously guy, there’s no way we can have anything close to a reasonable discussion if you’re going to be disingenuous at every turn.
To some extent that current gankers still actively grief new players, yes I did. I didn’t actually drag anyone in to chats or send mails but I engaged in some of the ganking, and after seeing the interactions of other gankers doing it I realised just a repulsive it was. That’s what hanging out with goons gets you.
I mean it’s actually pretty clear cut. CCP even had a presentation about it. You don’t need to harass them in chat for the blowing up of their ships to be considered griefing.
You should at-least take responsibility for deciding to pick on the lowest hanging fruit in game instead of blaming it on the goons.
I’ll have a word with Aiko to look into this. Mining permits are meant to be sold, not sat on.
Again, nothing disingenuous about me mentioning last week’s incident. I have nothing against stream sniping, it’s a known risk that can be dealt with easily (!), a risk that comes from this being a full on pvp game. Streaming does not entail immunity nor privilege.
Where have I not taken responsibility? When I say “that’s what hanging out with goons gets you” I mean it turns you into a ****. At no point does it stop being my responsibility for doing so.
The blog was designed as a place to present these “tears” and has contained instructions on how to effectively do so and materials like pre-built mails to sent to maximise the angry responses. It is funny though how the onus is always on me to prove everything, even when you’re making a claim then telling me to disprove it.
To become a ganker, you can’t actually be a griefer. Griefers don’t have the patience or skill, they always flunk out of ganker training. They wind up crying in the forums, like Lucas, and whining for CCP to step in and do something.
I never made a study of James’ blog, although I did read a few very funny stories many years ago.
But I’d like to pose the next question, based on a similarity.
There is a series of youtube videos by a very well-known, respected and even admired eve player (who, as far as I am aware, is currently not playing EvE) who ganked people, then sent the victims rp eve-mails, had some Schadenfreude occasionally, etc. He too got real life threats. The only difference between what you take offense at and the parallel I presented would seem to be that what I’m referring to happened in w-space. Similar tactics, similar results, similar saltiness, similar rp, similar publicity. What would make you not call that griefing as well ? Or do you ?
It’s possible I haven’t seen his whole catalogue. However I’ve never seen Chance Ravine gank in a protected system. I didn’t even know they had any protected systems in W space.
If you feel a ganker is griefing newbros, by ganking them in a protected system, you certainly have the ability to file a support ticket with CCP. No need to exaggerate your allegation in the forums. CCP is certainly capable of addressing this issue.
