For me, in EVE, the Good Old Days were 2013-2015/16, when there seemed to be a kind of vibrancy about the game. But perhaps that’s because there was more energy in me!
Even Objectively, it was a time in which raw conflict and drama really did seem to rule the roost.
Of course, ‘objective’ personal observations are rarely truly so. They’re often patched-up prejudices in disguise.

Tbh Im not criticising him (though all CEOs are workshy idle fops imho) as much as the idea that we need to moderate our enjoyment of the game in order to make him as much money as possible.
Thats the very basis of all serious attacks on gameplay around PvP.
And tbh not just pvp, but any activity at all where “noobs are leaving, game is haemorrahging players”.
Putting more money into Hilmars fat wallet isnt going to change that, even if it is true.
Meh, only if you believe a fraction of the highly questionable, and emotionally driven statements in this thread. Having seen the latest ccp/gm/isd roam this week, at least they are in for the kill kill kill whatever you can get. So there’s the counterbalance.
Hard to tell, without the relevant data - and even our most battle hardened forum warrior admits the data are lacking…
Bottom line, if what they try leads to less revenue, because fewer and fewer customers enjoy the product, it’s time for either a change in the upper echelons, or a pitiful fizzle into oblivion.
It’s easy to criticize from our side, but I do feel sorry for the devs who put in all the work on a project that has a high chance of not being acceptable to the player base i.e., failing to meet the most urgent requests/demands/frustrations. And in the case of this thread, complaints about hisec ganking are a distraction, especially if people misrepresent ganking as griefing.

Those are exactly what Im talking about.
Now, I dont for a second believe the GM Week hyperbole, I dont trust anything CCP says in videos or releases, but I dont do those activities and I avoid watching those releases.
My only point is that if a person actually believes that EvE is making a loss, then they should be honest and say “I want to make Hilmar richer” not “please think of the noobs” because the first is true and the second emotive and irrelevent to other players.

I like the GM week. It has something for everyone. The only flaw I could see was that it didn’t last a full week, the weekend wasn’t part of the fun (can’t blame them of course). The roam on Thursday was literally a group of “ordinary” players having a damn good time pewpewing, laying traps, and killing relentlessly, In short, what’s expected to happen in EvE. And this year, they even won !!! Must be a first

They didn’t prove them correct. Some critics will continue to say that black is white, or vice versa, because it suits their purpose to do so, and even changing the tune along the way if necessary. That’s the endless loop.
