New drip

It is very frustrating to browse the clothing in Eve, and see that the overwhelming majority of it is the same boring items/outfits re-skinned 100 different times.

Give us more fun and cool stuff to wear. Too much of the clothing seems to be cargo pants and t-shirts, which is very accurate for a game released in 2003, but its not 2003 any more.

Even when watching awards shows, famous and popular people show up wearing absurd outfits to their ‘super serious event’. Why cant the people who want cat ears not have cat ears? Why can I not have a cowboy hat in space? Why does every single thing in this game for clothing, just boil down to small handful things that are re-skinned or a slight color variant. People are still talking about the meat dress, and J-Lo’s boob dress, nobody is talking about what Cameron Diaz wore to the Academy Awards in 2000, because it was plain and boring.

I think CCP assumes we dont want that stuff, but there is a multitude of other games out there that prove this wrong. CCP just doesnt know how to price things properly, and thinks a videogame T-shirt should be on par, if not more expensive than buying one in RL. Maybe don’t try to charge us $100 for a monocle? Maybe keep things reasonably priced and it will sell… There are many other such games that show cosmetics are very important to the player experience, and I don’t see why or how Eve would be considered any different. People spend vast amounts of money changing their portal in PoE and Diablo 4. Or for a stupid pet. The options are essentially limitless as we are in space. And Eve isnt a game where we just make a new character every season, these characters follow us and are part of us for years, some people for decades, let us have fun with them. Me wearing a bright pink pirate blouse in no way effects someone elses gameplay experience beyond subjective whining.. Nobody is going to quit playing Eve if I have assless chaps. It almost seems to me that CCP is letting one poorly managed and executed decision that backfired on them damnear 20 years ago dictate to them what we want today. I am not asking for the full drag queen extravaganza, but like why not? Why cant some dude fully replace his head with a robot head? Why cant I have a cool jetpack? Idk, to me the options are limitless and I would be uploading new clothing constantly. Stuff inspired by RL or current events. From super serious and sophisticated all the way to gay space femboy with cat ears and everything in between.

Give us some absurdity in our space game, along with some damn style. Release more vanity items too. There is 60+ years of sci-fi to be inspired by, and yet we are stuck with tshirts and cargopants and the same boring suit colored 100 different ways.

I honestly dont care if some carebear whines about ‘mY ImMeRsiOn’. They never look at their screen anyways, so they are irrelevant. Lets spice up space a little bit with some style and flair.

I can clearly see what you are wearing if you post something here in the forums. Your picture is included. I don’t need to look on your screen or your character info. I get your picture in my face anyway without actively wanting to see it.

So it is in fact better for my immersion if you are not wearing some stupid pink party glasses or something. Just as you wrote.

In game fashion is always my big forte. Theres probably only like two outfits i like on the store. The rest are very bad. Ill post some more as i find them.

CCP, ill pay you money for these and other really decent outfits.

I selected my outfit in about 40 seconds in 2012.

I haven’t changed it since.

I’ll die in default.

I’m pretty happy with the selection of apparel we have.

I agree it would be nice if we had more.

But I also think that more isn’t necessarily better. I’d rather have a select amount of sci-fi themed clothes, glasses, face, eye and other head implants than see hundreds of random things that don’t fit the theme and feel of the game at all like a bunch of cat ears and cowboy hats.

Never heard of them.

I think CCP assumes we want other stuff more than we want clothing items. And they would be correct.

Real animals are not stupid compared to some stupid video game. I hope people spend money on feeding their animlas rather than on a T shirt in a video game!

I get where you’re at with the similar outfits just in different colors, etc. And I customize my main characters and prefer to have the option to do so. However, I maintain that the focus of this game is spaceships and space travel and those take precedence over wardrobe. I also don’t think we need ‘‘cat ears’’ and ‘‘femboy attire’’ in the game. Did you know you can put lipstick on your male characters here in EVE? That should be fem enough for those who want that. I’d rather have a new spaceship.

But, youd be so ravishing with those.

I agree that its not very eve like to be wearing cat ears and cowboy hats…

But i would totally buy a pair of cat ears.

Ah, and i know its not eve…but star wars ( my favorite fantasy sci fi ever ) has amazing cowboy hats.

EVE is pretty cyberpunky. What’s more cyberpunk than ridiculous outfits?

It’s not like all groups in the game take themselves super seriously either. The Guristas are bloodthirsty bandits with bunny-skull branding.

I dont succumb to the mindset of ‘IF THEY DO THIS IT WILL HALT DEVELOPMENT OF EVERY OTHER THING IN THE GAME BECAUSE I ONLY THINK IN TERMS OF ALL OR NOTHING’. But I appreciate your input.

This, but it must come in black.

If anything, i would like EVE to be turned into PEGI-18 and have an option to strip naked.

I already sit naked in my pod goo, right? I need this for my immersion. If i am actually always naked by lore, why do i not have a character portrait depicting the reality?

See this is exactly what I am talking about. This dude looks cool as fk, and to me in no way does something like this ‘break immersion’ or does it in any way feel outside of the realm of Eve. Thank you for this great input!

And while I get that others may think this game needs to be super serious, I do not take myself or this videogame serious at all, in any way, so I would like my characters to be able reflect that.

I support your desire to be naked as hell.

Some glowing tatoos on a naked body could be a compromise i could think of…maybe also pod goo dripping from the body…for full immersion purposes…

The more absurd the better imo. I personally would have a great time watching eve whinebears complain about a portrait of a naked man covered glowing tattoos and pod goo.

Nothing to complain. This is even advertised by CCP and then once you create your char suddenly you realize the disappointing truth that you need to put on clothes.

For reference:

See, with Gallente being what I consider the very “American” faction, I could see outfits like that being common for Gallente characters. In fact all the factions and their sub-classes of people are versions of real life cultures yet there are no cultural throwbacks. No asian oriental-styled clothing, or middle eastern clothing or anything outside of 1990’s corporate chic or tank tops from Alien movies.
