New Event? Intended?

Actually, I don’t mind a good grind (in game). this one however goes far, far, far beyond that.

In a forum one would regard it as a troll, but in reality incompetence, is the most likely explanation.

I would love to see the figures, of how many reach the final goal, and how many of those fail to continue playing after burning out.

hint:- the success of an event is not measured in how many players leave the game… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

One alpha clone state vexor navy half afkish doing nulsec anoms gets about 15mil/20min not counting faction spawns-that’s a freaking 5mil sp character or less.
How can anyone omega not do better huh?

Got it, Play 24/7, Leave, Win Eve, Play on reddit…

I take it null is full of engaged players, running atoms continuously on all their alpha accounts, to make dank ISK selling these totally amazing and highly expensive skins?

or are they going “frack that” and doing what they normally do every day. (of course I am not saying BOTs get bored or anything like that)

I’m sorry if the game in general doesn’t catter to your instant gratification ,easy achievement style you’ve been spoonfed since you lay hands on a keyboard and mouse,or maybe you started on consoles?..

I hope you enjoy your four skins, They will be well earned, you can feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. people will swoon as you pass them in space, and say “wow! there goes a really OCD frackwitt”

Or a bot, either works

edit:- I started on punchcard, so i KNOW pain…

I’ll just leave your ridiculous statements show your lack of game mechanics understanding and be on my merry way.

Byee, enjoy your 160m bounties each day, and your totally awesome rewards.

They could at least have given a rorqual or nyx skin, or temporary bot immunity, but one can’t expect too much really.

Bountiful Prey (Part 5) @ 100m ISK in bounties is really the only one that’s a bit daunting. Can’t really comment on the mining, but it doesn’t take long in a meta-fit Venture to get at least 10 points.

Assuming 50 points a day, which is fairly easy, you need a grand total of 3 days to get the rewards that are worth having, i mean RL comes first its literally space pixels anyway so if you can’t grind it you can just buy it

I wouldn’t necessarily say 50 points a day is “easy”. If you’re in high-sec and run L4s, it’s still at least a few hours work. If you’re an Alpha, running L3s or mining - that 50 points is a lot more daunting.

Honestly, I don’t even know if the SKINs at the end of the event are even going to be worthwhile. Looks like they’re for the Jovaian ships only with a Red vs. Blue theme, so I’m not sure what kind of mass appeal they have.

As has been pointed out, the prize is really the 6-day +12 Cerebral Accelerator (with Biology V). So 20-30 points a day isn’t really that much of a stretch - even for Alphas.

Yeah, this event was definitely designed and implemented for Null Sec players where there’s high bounty rats constantly being spawned by Infrastructure Upgrades. I highly doubt there’s a lot of competition or multiple NPC Mining Fleets clearing out Asteroid Belts in each system.

For High Sec players the easiest way to gain the 50 points per day without having to spend 23/7 time in the game is complete part 1 and part 2 of the mining task and then do part 1, part 2 and part 3 of the bounty task. That will take at least a few hrs to complete.

I completed parts 1, 2 and 3 of the Agency bounty task by starting the lv 4 Minmatar Epic Arc. Basically the first chapter of the arc gave me enough bounty’s for that. I then got a Prospect Mining Frigate and fit it for yield. I completed part 1 of the Agency mining task and was about 1/2 way done with part 2 when downtime hit. Sure I didn’t get my 50 points but at least I figured out a way to complete this event without having to sink a ton of time in-game.

Main reason I didn’t get my 50 points is due to having to check each belt in a dozen systems before I found some that wasn’t mined out by NPC Mining Fleets. Hell, one system had 20 NPC’s in it, most had a dozen NPC’s. I mean come on, whoever the Dev was that designed and implemented that crapass content should be fired.

Anyway, hopefully I can recoup lost time and get back on track with getting 50 points each day to complete this event.

I ran L4s (Assault and Guristas are good for this) to quickly amass enough bounties for Bountiful Prey (1-4) and then just used a yield fit Venture to get Harvester’s Haul (1). The hardest part about mining in high-sec is finding a belt not strip-mined by those NPC locusts. 50 points x 6 days and I’m done and done.

50m ISK in bounties is a bit of a grind for Part 4 but far less than the 100m ISK for Part 5. But I do agree that this event is geared to Null players for easy completion.

CCP doesnt really want to balance it. I would say its skewed towards those nullseccers who doesnt give a :poop: about some small spare change in a form of these rewards, but dont ask if that is logical, it isnt, same as many CCP choices over the years. :psyccp:

They will not use Gnosis Skin because they dont fly gnosis anymore, but carriers or supercarriers. Gnosis are for newbies. This event is to extract tears from new players and it is simultanously CCP highfiving these null seccers filling the bounties bar on monthy market report. :joy:

I hope you don’t want to be awarded in any case just because you cannot spend enough effort to achieve this normal way? This leads to bad habits…

No, a bad habit is implementing an event with absolutely no consideration to the players who would otherwise wish to run it. and doing it more than once…

It’s not possible to make events “for everyone”. There are many players with completely different interests. Some even never PVE(!) or undock (like traders).

So yes, it is just reasonable to make events for some group of players. And if you didn’t get to be part of it then wait for next event. Like i do.

So what are you waiting for actually?

Well, after downtime I went back into the game and the Agency tasks were all reset back to start. I used my yield fit Prospect mining Frigate to complete the Agency mining tasks part 1, part 2 and part 3. I’m now up to 70 points and I should be able to easily complete the Agency bounty tasks part 1, part 2 and part 3 by continuing the Minmatar lv 4 Epic Arc missions.

I gotta say it was definitely an experience and I gotta give creds to players who do mining in this game. It’s no wonder they fit their ships for max yield, mining in this game is a long drawn out process at the very least. Not to mention the fact that CCP has implemented a ton of mining bot’s into the game makes it no easy task to collect Ore. I went to a +0.7 security system in Ammatar high sec space to complete the mining tasks. What a surprise it was to warp to the first belt to see a fleet of 7 Blood Raider Retrievers mining the hell out of it.

While preparing to warp to the next belt after landing on grid, that fleet of Retrievers warped out and a dozen Blood Raider Frigates and Cruisers warped in and immediately targeted me as I was warping out. Guess my little Prospect mining Frigate was quite a threat and yes, I do have very negative standings with all Pirate factions. I found out later there’s an active Blood Raider FOB in that system.

Anyway, the next belt had 4 Sansha ships in it which also immediately targeted me upon warp in so I initiated warp to the next belt. Luckily there were no NPC’s and I quickly got started on completing the Agency mining tasks. While working on completing mining task part 3, that small fleet of Sansha ships warped in and once again immediately targeted me as I was warping out.

All the while this is happening I’m thinking to myself, where in the hell are my Thukker Mix brothers. I have +10 standing with Thukker Mix and the only station in that system belongs to Thukker Mix. Kinda messed up that a bunch of Pirate Factions can basically camp out in Empire space and mine out all their Asteroid Fields.

Needless to say since I already had half of the required units to complete part 3 of the Agency mining task, I was bound and determined to get it done. As Lady Luck would have it, there was an Average Kernite and Omber Ore Anomaly active in the system so I warped there to complete Agency mining task part 3. After landing on grid a single Sansha Frigate spawned within 10km and basically did nothing, just sat there the whole time I was mining. Upon warping out to unload and back again to the anomaly to get the last load needed for task completion, that single Sansha Frigate was still sitting there, oblivious to my presence.

However 2 Rogue Drones spawned and immediately attacked me doing very little DPS. I just kept orbiting the rock and continued mining until the notification for Agency task completion was received. I then warped out, docked up at Thukker Mix station and logged out for some much needed sleep.

Yeah, I admit the whole ordeal was interesting but at the same time it was also frustrating too, not something I would consider as an enjoyable gameplay experience. It’s bad enough players have to contend with other players trying to kill them, now there’s fleets of bot’s in game as well that just won’t give up no matter what.

Seriously, what’s up with that?

I did mining parts 1 and 2 in Endurance and noticed what I think is a bug. The amount of ore a Mining Laser mines does count towards completion, but ore that Mining Drones mine doesn’t.

Can someone else confirm? Is there anyone successfully completing event missions in Orca or Porpoise?

So? New players can’t expect to be able to do EVERYthing right away - this isn’t a game about instant gratification and insta-maxing. And yet, so many new players arrive with the expectation to be able to fully participate in everything from day-1. These rapidly escalating targets make the event more scalable - new players can at least realistically be able to get the extended AND advanced (both in one) accelerator - while more established players are rewarded for their dedication by having the opportunity to get more. That’s 100% as it ought to be.
