I was super excited about new event. I was watching rookie help talk about tier 1 sites and how everyone was trying to figure out fits.
I see some new event sites in high sec. I click around to find information but nothing tells me if they are tier 1 or 3. Nothing. I jump in and die instantly to a terminum base. I think in this day and age you could provide more information to players, especially in high sec, when it comes to the dangers to jumping into a site. Maybe put an information panel on the site under the warp option. All I know is im sick and tired of not knowing what i can do and what I can’t do and paying the ultimate price for trying. As a new player I make decent isk, but for all those scrubs out there barely hanging on, they don’t have a chance. Frankly im sick of this game, I thought this event would bring about some sort of new feelings for the game. The game is trash and refuses to change. im just done. I will leave my 6 billion worth of stuff and my 7 mil skill points i earned in 1 month behind and go play a new game. Probably grounded 2.
If you plan to go to unknown areas never been before you have to use a scout alt. Il is like send a probe or canary in a mine. Never go somewhere you don’t know with your main character or it is tears for sure. Do not go too fast, do not assume and never go blind.

This is one of the things I like most about this game – that CCP doesn’t spoon-feed the playerbase and provide them with all the details. This is precisely what makes this game fun – going out on your own and exploring, seeing what happens. It’s a live Universe, you have to figure things out on your own (and most of the time it has been done for you anyway).
Besides, it’s not like it stays that way for long. Pretty soon someone will post a video/recap on how they run the event and you’ll have all the information you need. If you don’t want to jump into the unknown all it takes is waiting a few hours till someone has run it and that’s it.
I really liked participating in this event last year. Was the first time I decided to do the sites, asked around if someone had a fit that could run it.
I looked at their tank and dps numbers, then made my own fit based on that cause I wanted to try flying a Legion. Did a few sites, tweaked the fit further and had fun!
While I can imagine such ‘trial and error’ is a bit hard if you don’t yet have the skills or funds to do the sites yet, I like this aspect of the game more than games where you see exactly the power level of the enemy up front so you never get surprised.
And if you’re not willing to experiment, ask around in your group if someone else did and if they have a fit for you! Or search online.
