New Forum A Bad Idea

I may be an old man, but as long as I can keep learning something new every day, I’ll die a happy one.

Let’s hope you’ll create fewer terrible threads like this one, or we’ll be happy, too, when that day comes.

You, sir, get my LOL IRL upvote for this day.

Ha, thanks. I always just quoted the entire thing and then manually edited the markup for right post number and char. This looks much easier.

@Mr_Epeen

hey there

you know things change … technology gets old and need a change
thats the wheel of tech life
i think we all can think on many things changed in the last years (html 4.1 → html 5 for example … android and ios get an update every year … ) and not all were happy with all changes

i know the old forum and it was … well … it was old … i was used to it and when i came to the new forum it was a bit of a change but its working … its stable … so why complaining about it?

well there is no other forum … everything else is only a different place to write stuff related to EVE … most will never find it and this forum here has one huge advantage … its the offiziell forum

so use it or dont do
you can add sugestions for improvements thats ok i guess but enter and write about everything is bad is a joke … will not change anything and will not improve stuff

i am sorry for you but it is what it is

It is. CCP seems to outsource “community everything” to community itself eventually. Then, when it develops on its own, they can find themselves with nothing to say actually.

Either you did not get what I was trying to say or you ignored it. What I red so far makes me think it’s the latter. Seems like any further arguing would be futile.

Have a nice day. :parrotmustache:

New forum is better, but peoples old habits die hard and many didnt learn how to use this ones functions.

Id have used the same color scheme had it been my choice, to help people have some sense of familiarity.

How do you go to next DEV reply in a thread on these forums? I haven’t figured it out and it really is needed, even with the currently shitty dev interaction levels.

Anyone know?

Poking @Whitehound who seems to know his forum-fu.

Best way I know is to look at the start of the thread. Just under the OP do you see the list of posters. If there is a dev then click on his/her avatar and it will bring up a box. Left on the box is a button telling you how many comments by them were made. When you click it will it only show the person’s comments. This works for all of the posters.

Thanks, but my list is always sorted by post count, so I get 24 shitposters, wasters and other assorted wankers. How does one prioritise DEV, CSM, ISD tags etc.?

I don’t know. I suppose one needs to go to https://www.discourse.org/ and dig deeper. It’s open source and it will have it’s own forum. Might not be the worst idea to ask there directly or for when it’s coming, to make it a suggestion for a new feature, … and work with the open source community behind it.

It’s probably not what you want as answer to your question, but it’s all I’ve got right now.

I know. It was a very tough decision.
