New player scamming - mass invite spammers

That sort of talk is ok. No need to post what was actually in the thing though. The warning is also not aimed at solely one person.

There absolutely is a need to post what is actually in the thing, and I am appalled by the double standard where posting blatant advocacy of marital rape is considered acceptable but criticizing such behavior is suppressed as “discussion of religion”. Why should people be permitted to say awful things and hide behind a shield of “it’s religion” to silence any criticism?

People aren’t allowed to say awful things, doubly so when they go against the rules and policies of the forum. Specifically, rule 2 states,

2. Specifically restricted content.

EVE Online holds ESRB Teen and PEGI 12 ratings. All content posted to the EVE Online forums must be teen rated.

In addition to this, the EVE Online forums are not for discussion of real life current affairs, news, politics or religion. Discussion should revolve around EVE Online and its community.

For these reasons, specific content is prohibited on the EVE Online forums. These are:

  • Pornography
  • Profanity
  • Real Money Trading (RMT)
  • Discussion of Warnings & Bans
  • Discussion of Moderation
  • Private communications with CCP
  • In-Game Bugs & Exploits
  • Real World Religion
  • Real World Politics
  • Content that distorts the forum layout

That said, I have no say whether or not what Sabus Narian presented in a retail environment is a religion or not. Do I disagree with it? Absolutely. Is it appropriate for this forum? No. Is then making comparisons to other religions also appropriate? No. Will I be handing out warnings the next time it happens? Yes.

I’m certain that you folks are more than capable of discussing things without going into a massive tirade that ends the way it usually does. I would love nothing more than to see a good, civil discussion. Just remember that I’m here to enforce rules and attempt to guide you to a better chat.

Amen.

On topic…I made new toon and was blasted everyday by the same corp. They would make an alt in an npc corp and blast new players with a corp ad. I even asked the corp to stop as I have played for 10-11 years and had a corp, it turned into them doing it 2-3 times a day for more than a month. It was the same corp over and over and over…CCP didnt care and did nothing. CCP just wants money they could give a hoot about any of us. The corp who did this should be dealt with but ccp wont. What they do borders on harassment but again ccp dont care. Adding a mail charge isnt the answer…stopping new player harassment should be.

You’re right but ISD doesn’t control what happened in that corp (my first char was in that corp, trust me I KNOW how bad it was even though I started anew before the whole cult thing). He can, and has to, control what happens on this forum.

He made a carreer out of it.

in the old days you joined goons / pandemic / etc and the dudes stole all your shi% , make you rage , transform you in a meme , then spit your broken remains back to high sec costing you years of counseling , now they give you hot chocolate, a lollipop , a blanket and make sure you pocket at least 10 bil before you ragequit because of that one time you lost a ship … i know it seems hard for the untrained eye , but its a improvement for sure

This is what generally happens to societies when they emerge from an economy of needs to an economy of wants; they become whiny and entitled.

In the beginning of EVE, almost no one complained about ganking, wars, AFK-cloaking, difficult NPCs, etc. Now, almost every thread is made to complain about some kind of adversity, and request that it be removed.

People become soft and sick when their needs are met to an excessive degree (look into research that states that some degree of hunger is actually quite good for your health, and leads to an increased life span). In the case of EVE, the sickness is mental. This means that the game is giving out too much right now, and things need to change, and scarcity needs to be introduced. In that regard, maybe it’s a good thing that such terrible corporations exist right now. Gives us a boogeyman to fear, a villain to fight against, and makes us appreciate good corporations when we meet them.

Goons used to be all of this, and more.

Naari was nothing on Joe Phoenix

That name rings a bell, but I can’t remember why.

They should do away with the CSM. The CSM don’t represent the players, they just represent themselves and their corp./alliances.

Then run against them as an independent…just complaining about will get you nothing.

She cant, she is quitting when her sub runs out and non-sub alpha scrub cant be on CSM

In this Eve reflects the real world.
