New PVE EVE game (Idea)

 Hey and good day everyone!

I will keep this short as possible fingers crossed xD

So in short summary i am here typing in this forums to see the reactions of players and the game devs as a whole. The idea revolves around a new EVE game, mainly PVE. So please bear in mind, this is just an “Idea”. So please hear me out and know my reasoning why i am writing this, thank you.

As gamer now for 22 years, i have seen a lot of different type of games and mmos etc. And all of them have their touch of uniqueness.

When i first played EVE, i was AWED. The visuals, and space, the galaxy, and of course the ships

EVE online has this element which is based around the PVP system and player regency around EVE.

As a gamer, PVP is nice and gets your blood boiling from time to time, but at the end of the day, people want to feel comfortable and at ease. Another mode. So in other words, a mode for PVE comes in check for a lot of people. A mode where they can appreciate the ships they have built in blood and sweat and fly in game on their own phase without the PVP environment blowing them up. They want to admire and fly their ships of their dreams, show off, play with friend, and fly off, doing different agendas they want to do. Remember this, and i say this because it is true. People want to fly their ships of any size without worry sometimes, and even pimp it to their liking. Ask a million gamers, and you will se cosmetics is one of the higher end of the list. Fallow up by content, grind and even interaction with others, but hey do not leave out new classes or in this game different ships and sizes.

I want to fly superships without the worry sometimes, most superships now a days are just anchored and useless. Unless you have a war going, being lucky or not maybe you will get to fly your superships back home or back at building one or buying one just for another war to pop up… I want to fleet up with my org to go raiding and show off our ships to each other in a PVE mode scenario, where there is a meaning to do so. And EVE online sadly is not in that department atm. I know i will get tons of correction stating i can fly in “HIGH” sec here and do that, but wake up. There is no true PVE end game in EVE online, and that is where i want to highlight this post. So please understand that EVE is not for everyone and i get that and hence why i am writing in this forum. To see if there is a chance for EVE PVE online or maybe another mode one day, idk. Like i said earlier this is an idea, so let us keep this in the realm of “What if”

When i say raiding, PVE modes, i mean against a PVE faction fleet, base, outpost, planet, invasion defense, offensive engagements, events etc etc. A new game were these are taken into account. A new game where the adventure is set in an alternate EVE universe or a million years in the future, just that it is a PVE oriented game.

So here is my short idea of a PVE EVE version game for example, this will be a made up lore to the new game, so please bare in mind this just my version:

“”“START”“”

Future of EVE 10k years in the future. The EVE main factions height of power got tested when unknown entities entered the outer sectors. Gallente and Minmatar sphere of influence reported the first sightings to the universe. 3 Swarm like fleets in Gallente and 2 in Minmatar sectors. These unknown entities appeared around 100 ships each, with different types and sizes. Ranging from Destroyers up to dreadnoughts in size class ships. They just silently protecting and constructing an unknown organic looking half donut like appearance. They seem fully focused on building the structure spanning 100miles in diameter. With no big motions, just their tentacles around their cores moving in a weird way, like scanning or sensing for something Infront of them. A few days after the appearance of the unknown entities, the advance scouts of Gallente and Minmatar reported that the structures were complete, and as they reported the situation. The donut like super structure turned purple in the inner circle, a few seconds later something started coming out of the structure. Slowly a squid organic type ships appeared the size of titan class ships, but longer, estimating around 30miles long. 10 of those first came out, fallowed by an enormous organic moon shaped structure with a diameter of 80miles. 1 min after it got through. Its giant tentacles started stretching out evenly around and what looks like a shield formed around it, but very bright. 10 mins of recording the situation to the higher ups, a big flash started to explode coming from the organic moon shaped structure. It looked like the flash of light started expanding at a terrifying 100 times the speed of light. As this situation was broadcasted to higher ups, they suddenly lost contact with the scouts. The leaders of Gallente and Minmatar did not know what to do of this situation and ordered new scouts and rescue ships to be sent to determine the situation as fast as possible. A week gone by, and as the scouts and rescue ships the target location. They suddenly saw a fleet of the swarm entities along with the giant organic moon like structure stretching its tentacles to one of the sectors planets surface. Not knowing of the danger they were in, they contacted HQ and reported the scene. As soon as they got a hold of HQ, fast moving organic type ships came in range of the recon and rescue party and got attacked by the swarm like ships, in a matter of seconds HQ lost contact with them. Shortly after the other scouting and rescue teams that were dispatched at the same time to the other location HQ also lost contact with them. Both Gallente and Minmatar at the same time reported the incidents to the media and ordered rapid deployment of ships to form counter fleets to the threat. As the 2 factions ordered a mobilization. Sector by sector at an astonishing speeds fell one after another. As the campaign to push back the threat started. The 2 factions reported victory after victory. Commanders of the fleets were wondering why waves of swarm like ships were being sent like cannon fodder one after another. They had an exterior mass that absorbed their weapons hitting them to a certain degree before exploding, and their offensive weapons seems offline at that time and their planes or drones in the 1000s per capital sized ships, shielded their carrier like ships to only block the damage. A few weeks into the Gallente and Minmatar advance fleets campaign to push back the threats. Progress was deemed easy by the 2 sides and ordered the other standby fleets to disperse and recruitment on hold as it was not needed. Leaders of the factions saw the costs and the progress of their advance fleets to be enough. Spending less was the leaders priority while military command deem this move not wise until the situation is fully determined. Due to the command structure, the military high command could not do anything, and they hoped their advance fleets to be enough. Few weeks into the campaign, the commanders of the advance fleets reported to HQ that they were 1 sector away from the original origins of where they first spotted the swarm. Both Gallente and Minmantar leaders wanted to broadcast this live to the public and to stretch their political might to the public. Live for the universe to see, as soon as the advance fleets entered the origins of the swarms first appearance. All the planets in the sector looked terraformed into purple. There was 2 massive sized portals and a 3rd one almost finished. From the last report of 1 massive sized moon class structure to 2. And armadas of ships in the sectors forming up. The sheers size of the the swarm like entities shocked the public, and as this broadcast was live, a few seconds into the broadcast, a massive flash came from one of the moon class structures. Commanders of the fleets ordered a brace, and suddenly the screen turned gray. “Lost connection”. The media immediately showed commercials. The leaders of the faction ordered a full mobilization of the military.

1 year gone by, and both Gallente and Minmatar has suffered enormous casualties. the leaders held off asking Amarr and the Caldari for help, but military high command deemed the front lines to be unstable as time passes, and asked their respective leaders to push for military help from the other factions before it was to late. Military experts at that time said the frontline soldiers and navy were outgunned and couldn’t deploy bigger fleets in fear of the moon class structures super weapon. Due to the sheer size of the enemy and technology, around 20-30% of Gallente and Minmatar space/sector was lost in 1 year of the war. One ship could take out 100 enemy ships with normal efforts, but 1 ship vs 10000 was deemed suicide. The military deployed long range tactics and immediate warp capabilities to their fleets. Due to the moon class structure super weapons having some form of EMP and WARP jamming function. Gallente and Minmatar military researchers said that they are nearing a system to counter the moon class structure EMP and Warp jamming technology. Leaders of respective factions saw this as a turning point, but the military command advise to push for a military cooperation from the other EVE factions as they deemed it wise in the long run. Gallente and Minmatar leaders sticked to the new technology that was being created and ordered the military to hold out as long as possible until their new technology could be realized.

2 years passed, and the new technology to counter the EMP and warp jamming, functioned better than imagined, but it didn’t solve the sheer size of the enemy. Nearing the 40-50% of their territories to be taken by the swarm. Still the Leader were hoping for a breakthrough… Experts calculated that if they did not get support from the other factions the front line will collapse. It was a matter of time and if they could not muster more strength to push them back, then they will be overrun in 2 years time.

Finally after 3 years of waring with the Swarm entities, Gallente and Minmatar leaders so no progress in the war. They hurried to assemble diplomatic teams to the various powers including Amarr and Caldari, but only to be rejected. Seeing this dire situation, Gallente and Minmatar leaders knew they were weaker now in terms of a diplomatic standing and national power. And deemed this to be the cause of the situation. Knowing of their impending doom, they offered to sign something they would never thought of doing. Gallente and Minmatar offered Amarr, Caldari and the various powers of EVE everything they had after the war was won, but still the diplomatic teams got turned down. A few months passed and the silence was broken. Caldari was the first to open up for the diplomatic delegations. The Caldari spoke first to ask for assistance. Confused, both Gallente and Minmatar said they will offer all assistance they wanted as long as they send in as much military aid as they could. They showed all research and situation that was happening on the frontlines. Caldari’s diplomatic team were silent in the matter, and said they knew of the situation. And said that time indeed was cause of this apocalypse, we let it happen. Confused the Gallente and Minmatar teams said that we have not much time, every little help can help push this crisis back. And if we fail, you and the various powers in the galaxy will be next. Caldari team opened up to say: “We to have been at war ever since the day you guys first came to know of the Swarm entities”. Gallente and Minmatar teams were shocked, “Do they have the swarm problems too?”. The Caldri dismiss their thoughts, but stating they had another enemy at their doorsteps. Gallente and Minmatar were fighting the swarm, while Caldari and Amarr were fighting machine entities. Just that Amar has to much pride and would not accept any form of cooperations at this moment. Caldari kept on saying, at the early stages we thought if we could solved our own problems and defeated our enemy. Then maybe Gallente, Minmatar and Amarr would ask for cooperation and that is were we could ask for anything, but that turned out to be some dream. Caldari frontlines are collapsing as we are speaking. A month ago we found out through researching the ship wrecks of the machine entities that they are at war with the Swarm. They have been now for millions of years, and we are at the crossfire of these to godly factions… They war with anyone in their path and seemed hell bent on destroying each other. Many other Alien faction according to their research were wiped out, but remnants are still around in the universe, just that they leave minor factions and war with anyone on their way towards their sworn enemy. Gallente and Minmatar teams were silent… Caldari team stated that the reason why they wanted to talk. They got intel that the machine fleets main target is the Swarm, if we can open up a path to the swarm they will have to fight it out. The machine fleets directive is to pull all available fleets to fight the swarm, and it seems through the intel we learned, the swarm too will do everything to fight the machines. We have relied this information to the Amarr and as they are silent, they too at one point will see reason, they hoped.

1 year passed and the 4 powers seem to somewhat be cooperating. The machine fleets and the swarm now have conquered 75% of the galaxy and slowly pushing borders. Both the machine and swarm entities seems to be on equal footing, and that the portals they have build at the opposite sides of the galaxy is what is keeping them in the fight.

High command of all the factions mobilized a last major armada on a long distance to navigate and jump to where to portals were built to destroy them. They were fitted with the most advance warheads and weapons they could muster, and had one order, destroy the portals whatever it takes.

At the end of this story, Gallente, Minmatar, Caldari and Amarr, were successful at destroying the portals. The remaining enemy forces fought it out for a few more months, their numbers dwindled by the many, but after a certain time only to start expanding their powers to the remaining 25% of the galaxy they have not captured.

1000 years in the future, EVE is fractured, the major powers dismantled and forced to give independency to the sectors they one’s owned. The Swarm and Machine entities, one’s a galactic threat, now down to settle and slowly build up their power. Knowing they are cut off from reinforcements, they to now split into multiple independent factions. Some still hell bent on destroying each other, and some wanting to cooperate with the galaxies populations.

With this new cycle of events in the galaxy of EVE, many new factions, new races appeared and a whole new EVE to explore.

“”“END”“”

“”“Game explanation”“”

Lets say the same system or better etc, but with the added challenges like i have written in the story for example. We must train our players, research, build, trade, mine, defend and retake our sectors. Ever since the alien invasions, the old former factions crumbled and the humans as a whole scattered and divided into different factions and even new races appeared. Old technologies lost and a new era of retaking back our sectors, explore and uncover our lost technologies to fight back the tide?

So in short, people will need to start a new game, but slowly and surely climb the ladder through time and and personal accomplishments and the grind. And fly around and doing their fights with enemies in a PVE mode, without the need to think in a PVP mindset. PVP can be activated, but more 1vs1 restricted since that is EVE online and not this mode. It does not mean that players ships are indestructible, but more open for a chance to make it home and park their ships safely without the need to think that their real life medic leave or any real life accidents getting in the way of the game. What i mean here, let people decide when they have time. Let us looking into other games for example. They have raid, day and play when it suits them, and that is what this game should be focused on. If an expansion lasts 6 months, let the player decide on when they want to play. And make a progression on what happens to the new EVE game based on players path of taking.

So this new EVE game, will be based on players finding new blueprints through fights with the enemy in all types of modes. So lets say that the highest level a new player can reach is destroyer class. For them to upgrade and train further up the chain. They need to fight higher level enemies and get lucky finding BPs through different means for the players to gain access to cruiser tech for example. I will explain in details later. The market in this new game is not as wide as it was in EVE online, but more resource focused (mats). Players will be more solo trained minded, meaning they cant buy exp or ships, but upgrading and building their own ships through their own shipyards and resources and effort. This needs to be voted, not sure what players wants here, but a mass vote should determine if they want to be able to build and sell ships, or personal account type single lock ship system. Meaning, pilots will be in demand depending on their level.

Further explanation of the new player level up experience and ship and knowledge side of things:

  1. Players will gain exp, rewards and knowledge trough all in game activity.
-EXP is earned over time, and through all activities. It is used to upgrade modules, learn skill and the train the pilots in various means. You cannot buy EXP, and you must learn of your own accord.
-Rewards, are everything the drops from enemies to mining.
-Knowledge is just like EVE, but with the touch of all faction ship lines gone. In this game, the player has to find their own ships knowledge or discard. This feature makes it so that the player chooses his or her ship path, in ship class order. More explanations later.

Since the former factions decline and their empires crumbled, BPs of all kinds were lost, stolen by the enemies, or lost throughout the ages. Let us say if a player is flying an Amarr destroyer, and through luck acquired a Gallente cruiser. The player can either choose to learn that technology and lock it in or scrap for parts and find another one.

Pilots/players can only choose one BP ship or module path. So mix and match ships is possible. Since there is no order on what people can select from, the players will make their own path. With the caution of choose wisely.

Here is an example of a player acquiring a battleship. The player chose Gallente BB with the focus of the best shields and the weapons are all rockets. In EVE the battlship would had been blaster, structure hitpoints etc. Now in this new mode, players will have regency of their own path. So players now will be able to build there ship of their dreams ish, if only you could design the ships aswell, joking.

This will make every single player make their own unique path and i know you are thinking of the RNG. What if the player wants to get a Amarr battleship or something else. The player through the ship knowledge system will help players understand and unlocking the ship of their career path choice, through recovering faction related artifacts and other rellevant clues. Players can unlock current level or ship level of their choosing. The rest drops in space is just pure luck. So the higher the players want to progress, the more time and investment they need to do to be able to reach the mother of all ships “the Titans” for example.

To make this clear, you cant have all the ships, so there is something called a reroll function. They have to give up their current ship class and all current cosmetics unlocked for it, for them to reroll that class to another, but to make it unique, each player will only get a few rerolls per account at start and through new expansion they can get 1, so use it wisely.

  1. Players will need real game time investment to acquire themselves knowledge, bps and exp to unluck all ship class progressions. Unless they are in an org then they can help on the resource side of things. But players them selves must gain exp and the knowledge to be able to unlock and build ships. Since this game will be based on player progression and effort. Orgs will be there to help most with battles and resources and team management.

  2. Building ships can be done in all friendly areas, where Org can do it better as they gain build time decrease, and resources help system. Solo player over time and effort can build whatever ship they want throughout the progression, if they have unlocked those ship level. Orgs in the other hand can build their own shipyards to accommodate players progress. Do keep in mind that the org needs to also reach the infastructure level to be able to build captial ships etc. So helping them out is also a thing. Depending how good the org built their shipyards, real time building will be a thing so players will see ships being built every single step. From the smallest ships to the biggest ships etc. Bases and their facilities use of power (resource upkeep) will be determined by Org size, the bigger they expand the more resource upkeep they have to provide.

Very important note. If the Orge can only build destroyers and a player has access to a cruiser class, then the org cannot at that moment build the players cruiser. This means the player driving the ship is the only one to able to build. So proper Org dialogue and who’s ship is gonna be built first needs to be managed by the leaders etc. Since shipyard space are limited depending how big the org has expanded. The players building their ships using the orgs shipyard will be paying 100% of the mats or 50% with the Org helping out on the rest if agreed upon.

If the player lost their ship in a fight, they can repair it by towing it back to their org or safe areas, and repair it depending on the fees of the areas etc, but if the player ditch their ship, they have to make a new one. Repairing a ship depends on how damaged it was, if all available ship parts are recovered, up to 50% can be salvaged if they have good skills (an expert at salvaging, special class career path)

  1. Orgs can build and house their own ships. The orgs biggest perks, depending on their base level. Can own their own base, trading hub, build shipyards of all tiers, mine, build defense platforms and store resources etc etc.

Important note, many people sometimes would play other games, and maybe 6 months or to a year later return when an expansion appears. So it is vital that they need to have some form of invulnerable space or dimension they can gather and store a limited amount of ships depending on their org progression level.

Let us say all created org will get their own small wormhole unknown solar system. This area is only accessed by org members as a means of a guarantee safety train kind of area. Depending on the org level, players there ship to x amount ships depending on ship sizes. Resources can be stored as well.

So to sum this up:
1 org safe area permanent safe HQ. Wormhole unknow location. Basically their own small server. They can jump in and out. Safehaven for players that wants to take a break etc. If players are kicked from org, the stuff and ships will be transferred to the nearest safe space.
1 org vanguard HQ base, in any of the expansion areas. Needs upkeep to maintain and player activity to defend etc. They can have multiple outposts, but only 1 vanguard HQ, that can be moved, with the help of org members etc. This will serve as their main HQ. The difference between safe HQ and Vanguard HQ is:

-Safe HQ: As tart up system, that teaches the players the fundamental aspect of org buildings, resources, cooperation’s and modes of the game from an Org views etc. Buildings are limited and in this case you can only build up to cruisers in safe HQ, but store up to a few ship or max 1 ship if it is a Titan, so choose and store wisely.

-Vanguard HQ, everything above plus, here you can store anything depending on the org level and ship capacity space etc, your expansion is your own limit.

If there are no org activity for a period of time, the resources to maintain the base will run out and shut off all functions, and if no one is defending, their base will be destroyed by the enemy fleets. So be sure to move whatever you can to your safe HQ before you start to take a break from the game.

  1. Players can grind resources safely near their faction space or org sectors with higher yields. The higher or rarer the minerals the more dangerous the areas are. Usually miners need to be in a fleet to be protected. From random alien fleets that will send random ships to attack from time to time.

  2. Orgs are the for front of the operations in this game, and will be constantly contributing in different ways, though not like EVE online. Here it takes form like guild or clans like any other game, with a limited expansion view, but open to explore where ever they can go like in EVE.

Depending on how the devs approach this. There can be for example:
The first expansion or game release will feature an invasion fleet. where org or players forming up to fight the enemies in a raid kind of setting. Imagine a spacebattle where players vs AI fight it out. This comes in 2 modes, where the first one is world player live event. Devs set a time where players needs to gather and fight the enemy in a massive battle. The other a instance based raid kind of mode. Where players in the org or finding other people join in to take on the challenges as a group. Imagine world of warcraft raids, just EVE version ships edition. And at the end of it, rare rewards can be salvaged. And let that shape the game according to the players participating in the game and how to progress and deal with the devs nonsense lol xD Joking…

Each year or so comes new a new progressive expansion. With new ships, enemies and areas to explore.

I know this all sounds very hard to imagine, but i dare you guys CCP Games to put up Kickstarter. You will see how people react to this idea or your own idea, just that this is PVE focused game. Just look at monster hunter, WoW, guild wars. They all have their own PVE and PVP mode, and guess what, PVE dominates. Players want the PVE setting. I hope you guys can give players the full space ship PVE EVE mode game, make this your own. I’m ready to invest good money into this game to show my support. Just remember to not put pay to win elements when it comes to player progression. Players want to feel their time has meaning, don’t make whales boost all their way up. Keep it within a monthly sub, purchase resources for org to maintain their bases or special building for orgs to buy. This will acquire additional funds to maintain. Add a battle pass that revolves around cosmetics or a monthly cosmetic store for people to buy. You have no ideas how crazy people would go for rare cosmetics. Add some crazy skins and people would buy them in a heartbeat. Remember, keep the pay to win out, and cosmetics in.

Here is what i imagine one one:
When i fly a battleship that took me 10 years to be built and a see a new guy flying in a destroyer. And they need help. You help them and you feel satisfied and they are looking up to you and thanking you, saying they to will get there one day.

The meaning of player progression has a lot to say. Not saying it needs to be 10 years, but enough to make it worth the time spent. And in this new EVE game, the level progression of player is not determined if they are in the end game, the end game content starts as soon as you finish your academy training. The game activity will scale depending on what you are going for, so everyone can hope on and do their thing, but of course if you have a destroyer and the event chosen activities will be destroyers to, maybe higher depending on the group comp etc. There is always be something for someone. If your goal is to fly a battleship or something bigger, than you can do that without a need to think about the events, your time determines how fast you want to get there.

End game players like high ship class kind of players, will be going for top class mission and difficulties that require high end tech, ships and numbers to get through. These orgs are what we call the elites, forefront of the war against all enemy threats.

I have a lot to add, but i think you guys dropped off a long time ago x*D

Thank you for your time, i just have alot to say sometimes, hope you guys have a lovely day:)

Thanks for now, signing out!

This was an Idea as i stated. Whatever happens it is just words at this point.

If you do not have time to read, that is fair.

Echoes isn’t a PVE game. And the reason for me posting this was an idea of a EVE pve game.

Have a nice day:)

Useful feedback: It would help your own cause if you’ve managed to write a more coherent and compact OP.

Because currently your OP be like:

May I suggest try out some of the other Space themed sandbox games that exists, most of which are PvE.

Also why are you posting in the French section when your wall of text is in English?

EVE echoes is a PVE game, the PVP that is there is optional, unlike EVE Online. Also can we get this moved out of the French forums?

Is this another ChatGPT gish gallop?

No…

My brain stopped reading

And i am closing the tab here.

I do not want to encourage CCP to divert more of the EVE money into projects like frontiers, vanguard and echos.

Jesus christ on a muffin i haven never seen someone type so much to say basically “i want safe space”

Thanks for reading through it for me to come up with the “TLDR”.

Sounds absolutely nothing like EVE. Why would you even tie it to EVE like some kind of crappy mobile asset flip?
