Nice joke, CCP

Yep, I like DCS Flight Simulator. Also the dev. cooperates with Americans too.
Not about space…but…

Also Space Rangers (video game) is good a russian game about space for solo-gaming.

No, I understand it just fine. My argument was specifically that CCP is not losing out on anything by employing regional pricing, and is in fact making more money overall when those people are playing the game, than when they aren’t.

In fact, considering how much emphasis the community places on server health, bolstering the active count with players who aren’t paying much might be critical just to keep EVE in a desirable state.

It’s becoming so hard to tell whether the trolls are coming out of the woodwork to latch on to another bite point, or if people are actually this ■■■■■■■ stupid.

Hmmmmmm I think the elasticity in terms of player retention of EVE is very different from that of other MMORPGs. Most EVE players are highly educated working adults - they can more than afford to play the game, so they can bite the increase in cost. They can and will tolerate the increase to a larger extent than players in other MMORPGs. 12 y/o asks mom “Hey mom can I still play WoW even though they jacked up the price?” and mom says “■■■■ no get a job pay for your own damn game and go make me a sandwich” vs Joe Average EVE player making above average income… probably in IT or computer programming or engineering or something math savvy… Price of EVE increases from 1.5x to 3x trips to Starbucks a month and they shrug it off, they were going to Starbucks anyway as part of their daily routine.

Point is, I think they worked it out, I think they determined they’ll make more profits without regional pricing in EVE specifically due to demographics (above-average income-making working adults), and I’m sure this is what will end up happening. If CCP is wrong, they’ll just write an Incarna-esque apology letter and fully or partially reverse the price increase

You might want to read what i wrote, because i said they can afford to take a loss on the subs if its offset by the MTX they think they can sell, its a simple case of enticing people to start, but in this case CCP’s MTX aren’t that great of an option to most players so they can’t really afford to make the monthly sub super cheap, especially when the key uses of PLEX is to pay for the monthly sub :stuck_out_tongue:

And regional pricing can be exploited trivially these days, hence there is no point having a regional price to “help” a region when other people will take advantage of it to pay less than they would have to in their region

I’m ok with this change, especially if there are less poor russians around because of it

  1. Your game is not worth the money for which you are now asking, it does not even cost 500 rubles per month as it was before! Maximum it costs 250-300r.

  2. You have weak hardware, servers can’t withstand big battles, already from 400-600 people time dilation begins, in 2020 it is very weak.

  3. You are often READY and you deal with this average, I would say with varying success, because of these lags, many are killed in the game by your vein.

  4. You have a weak character editor! For 2020, it’s a shame to have such a meager and buggy character editor.

  5. Your introduced controversial global rebalances are delusional (with ore and roorks this is a direct sore subject), they strongly affect the game play of the game and because of them many players score for the game, and the influx of young players in this project is very small.

  6. Many people paid for the subscription of several characters in real life, and now it will be very expensive to do this, it’s easier to score on your game and go to another project!

  7. Now in the world there is a serious CRISIS caused by COVID-19, many have lost their WORK and in Russia, for example, the STATE DOES NOT HELP CITIZENS and BUSINESS! So what are you doubling prices at this time?

  8. Your useless daily game rewards do not make the game more interesting and unique, Pearl Abyss is a company that has ruled its game Black Desert and made a final PvE moobrochka that is designed to maximize the extraction of money from players! You found a great partner for yourself and I see that their influence affects EvE-online.
Return prices back, and in truth, a subscription should cost no more than 300 rubles a month. !

  9. Also you have a specific PvP, a lot of ships and feats, and there are almost no interesting honest fights, there is always one outbreak everywhere, stupidly throwing a huge number.

Bye bye loser…

Why are you still here?

But to think that you would have to know how much CCP makes on things other than subs, and it would have to be… how small amount exactly?

I know you want to defend CCP, but do you have the data you seem to derive argumentation from?

Name one single game which didn’t lag out with even 300 hundred players in same area fighting each other.

That weak character editor still allows for one of biggest variability and customisability of characters out of most other MMO. The only that that beats it is BDO’s character creator.

To be honest I am unsure if You are serious in here or sarcastic/trolling.

Don’t really need any hard numbers, the vast majority of PLEX will be consumed for omega time or MCT time, that much is a given, yes there are still clearly people buying skins etc but it wouldn’t be enough for them to sustain a massive hit to subscriptions, they make more money per month of PLEX time than subscriptions due to the cost of PLEX, so reducing the cost of the monthly sub would only encourage more people to use that rather than buying PLEX, which reduces the demand which reduces the profits from it

We know that EVE’s revenue for Q1 2020 was about £9 million up slightly from around £8 million for Q4 2019 as Pearl Abyss makes their financial data public https://s1.pearlcdn.com/pearlabyss/IR/c2df22f846220200513033735605.pdf

Obviously this doens’t have a complete breakdown of the EVE specifics and it doesn’t correctly show how much EVE is costing them so that won’t be £9 million in profit, but they do compare the revenue that BDO brings in which is nearly 10x as much and considering their stance on MTX its not surprising

I know, but other companies have learned to deal with it, mostly via very strict enforcement. Like, you get caught, and there are no second chances. Like I said before, once you start playing the proxy game, you can’t slip up even once. That’s an extreme level of dedication.

[Joke]That would imply inequal treatment between groups/race. Can’t have that otherwise they might be called racist for charging other groups less. [/joke]

[srsly]Probably easier on accounting to say flat rate for everybody.[/srsly]

Also, guys? Talking ■■■■ to people because they complain about the affordability of something is just a dick move overall. Maybe some of you haven’t experienced living somewhere where you can’t just go out and blow a day’s salary on a video game, I don’t know. But I’ve been part of both worlds in my life, and I can tell you that it’s not the people complaining about this change who are entitled, but you. Stop acting like sheltered suburbanite bourgies and skip a day of mining rock/roaming with your "m8s
or whatever and go out and volunteer or something. Don’t be trash people.

And maybe learn some basic economics. I’ve seen the most stupid ■■■■ said in this thread. Your governments should confiscate all of your disposable income to increase desperately-needed school funding, in my opinion.

Because they believe that doubling prices will make them more cash than not doubling prices. CCP is not a charity service, they don’t give a **** about your personal situation.
