From my experience, relic and data sites will despawn (and then respawn) after around 15-30 minutes they have been visited without cloaking.
i was in Bhizbeba @08:58 and got no local . but i saw 2 ships in front of me
I checked eve-offline for when DT should have happenedā¦
And saw the instant logout of about 750-1k accounts.
CCP, i hope that you added every single one of those accounts to bot trackers for suspicious activity.
Because that sure seems like 1 out of 17 accounts logged out for a DT that wasnt comingā¦ you know, as if theyāre programmed to do so.
Thatās the one weird thing i saw, and itās not a bug, so no bug report.
I didnāt realize so many things were dependent on EVE going through a daily downtime. I hope this is as enlightening of an experience for CCP as it was for me.
Iāve gotten a new appreciation for a lot of the work that goes on behind the scenes to make sure the game runs smoothly each day. And many things we take for granted are handled through those daily downtimes.
Hope you guys manage to collect a lot of great data from this, because as a player, itās very eye opening!
That is very far from my experience. Landing on grid has no effect and the 2 hours despawn timer only triggers after you finished at least 1 hack.
As time went on it seemed that module lag seemed to get worse. ie it takes longer and longer for a module to turn on or off.
Holly lag
Industry page loading blueprints will not respond I know its normally slow but now itās unusable
Please keep DT it solves more issues then it āfixesā
So will there be some sort of compensation for this?
Chat broken, everything laggy as hell - i donāt think itās appropriate that CCP waste peoples payed omega time like thisā¦
you were warned ahead of time that lag was a possibility, yet you took a poor manās shiny gila out anyway.
Sucks to be you.
that doesnāt mean itās ok.
The announcement also saied they might do a restart is the performance is too bad - CCPs definition of that state seems a bit out of order if they think a comlpetely unuseable chat and multiple seconds of lagging are fine.
his was a test on the live server, ruining most peoples ability to play and no compensation offered?
half the people not showing in local.
people in your corp showing as neutral.
people in your alliance showing as neutral.
you could have upto 3.5seconds of lag between different parts of the server communicating with each other.
someone in my corp said he stripped fittings from a carrier to put on a mothership and some of the expensive modules just didnāt turn up in his hanger, someone checked the corp hangers not their eitherā¦
I didnāt even bother to play how could I with the server acting like this. why should I lose a ship worth 0.5-2bil then have to go through the effort of making a petition that CCP might argue it was my fault cos I knew about the ātestā
No compensation is a joke! at least throw everyone 50k sp and 1 day omega time minimumā¦
Yep, i logged off too. Had planned a fleet for the evening but thats just not viable when chat and standings donāt work. Could have done some whaling instead of actual PVP but that ā ā ā ā ās not worth my time reallyā¦
I donāt think this has been mentioned yet, but Iām missing a couple kills from yesterday on my zkillboard which I killed solo. (roughly between 17:00-18:00 EVE).
PS: Unrelated to the no downtime thing; Iāve seen it happen several times that I do not show up on killmails even though I have them tackled for at least several seconds. Please fix
Well Iād like to report some feedback, apart from the local issues, which Iām not putting down solely to the āno DTā experiment, as itās been broken since CCP outsourced it, but everything else seemed fine. I see āmodule lagā as a normal consequence of playing the game (iād always put it down to the distance between client & server), so am looking forward to more āno downtimeā days.
Bring em on!
Regards,
Cypr3ss.
As a lot of people I also had some random disconnects. Deadspace was working fine for me but I decided to only go for T2 due to this " experiment". Also an asteroid belts were totally mined out and that created some other chain reactions. Had to switch for hauling contracts (and everybody was aware of that and just lovered the reward).
P.S overal I liked it. Just find a way to respawn asteroid belts /lower the lag / get rid of random disconnects and weār good!
We were not intending to reboot unless the cluster became inoperable. This will have corrected itself at DT this morning.
I was looking at the relevant code yesterday, what is your source?
Interesting, thanks for the report.
Indeed, we know why this is and were tracking the severity of this issue throughout the experiment.
Well it WAS inoperable.
If you wanna try this again have ships teleport back to hangar instead of being destroyed for the time of testing - that would be the verry mininmun for this to be acceptableā¦
Do you have a definition for that word?
