I had a disconnect when I was trying to do an abyssal filament. It hung on the portal kicked me out for like a minute or so and wouldn’t let me log back on. when I logged back on I was dead. I don’t mind the down time as long as everything stays functional I’m good.
I had a friend log out that day cause his Lv4 mission could not be finished.
I can not remember the mission name, but its the 1st of 2 with Sansha Slavers where you have to blow up the bulbous looking building to get the mission item (some prisoners i think).
He said he could lock the object but it refused to take damage. I told him to report it or say something here but doesnt look like he did either, so there you go i reported it myself.
If he took the time to file a support ticket a GM usually responds within 10 - 30 minutes to these type of inquiries.
Isn’t that the time when US people start to log in? Also evening EU/ Russian fleets tend to drag into the night… stats show low login numbers between 00 and 6 am but idk if that’s the point of lowest activity.
- local in some systems was working fine, in others it was buggy as hell. 10 people in local but you see 3, or see 0 and see only people who recently jumped in and so on
- ghost fitting window was showing maxed out pwg and cpu on an unfitted ship, making it pretty much unusable
Ok, so the no downtime for 48 hours is a really bad idea. Having a short downtime each day was perfect. The mine fields grew witch is REALLY important!! I have seen bad results already of mine fields complete wiped out. And remember, every single thing in this comes from mining!! Other games, SWTOR, WOW do the 4 or 5 hour down time, usally on Tuesday for some reason and that is a pain. So Please go back to every day short downtime, this is a very good way to run this game I believe anyway. Thanks
Hi, sorry if i missed anyone reporting same thing.
i was in Station and under guest tab there was 256 Pilots and in local chat there was 152 im guessing this is a bug or problem in the no downtime day specifically.
Thanks
Stefan
While I think this experiment is worthy, I honestly think the downtime is among other things a good way to keep membership stats up. Capsuleers (like myself) will simply die from game fatigue (or forgetting to eat or drink for five days) and perish. This will hurt CCP in the long run, as there will be no one left in New Eden to hunt the alpha newbs.
the everyday downtime will keep membership up, I can tell you from my point of view I am fed up with crapping on miners all the time. I run several accounts and I am thinking of leaving. They had a big thing a while back about how people leave the game after a week or so, well this is one the reasons.
No regular downtime.
I don’t know if there is a link or not, but for some days i have several socket closed issue, on my 2 toons. game is unplayable. I was tacling a stratios while i had this issue, never saw it in my life. And it is sever, like a lot of times, then it is ok for a moment.
Game is unplayable.
Considering how the test occurred on the 4th of December, and it is now the 21st of December and there has been a down time every day since, I am confident in saying that your issue is not related to this test… I mean seriously, how could it be?
Regards,
Cypr3ss.
I don’t know brother, ever since that no DT ‘Test’, I’ve also experienced multiple socket closed lost connection issues as well.
I’m going to suggest that correlation is not causation which means that just because two things correlate does not necessarily mean that one causes the other… but in this instance I’m not even sure there is correlation. Log a bug report by all means, but to me it sounds like ‘network issues’ totally unrelated to the “no DT test”.

Cypr3ss.
For the past 11 years I’ve rarely experienced connection issues, I live in one of CCP’s biggest marketing area’s so whenever I start experiencing socket closed / lost connection issues, I know there’s a problem.
So right after that ‘test’ happened, I began experiencing socket closed / lost connection issues which happen quite often at various times. And it’s not just a one time kick, it happens back to back to back, all within a very short time frame.
Since the ‘test’, I’ve experienced it 4 times now, that amount would probably be higher if I spent more time in-game.
Exactly the issue i have. When it happens it is a chain of socket closed.
Erm… Does this need to exist, make it through 23.75hrs first before aiming for more.
Useless. Not needed focus on real things.
What has happened to this no downtime thing? It’s been about 2 years since this experiment and we still have daily downtime.
They did a second experiment rather recently (No Downtime - Again!) and there are still significant changes that have to be achieved before no downtime works as a routine idea.
Pretty clear the experiments show the downtime is still needed for the game to run smoothly.
