then no one will ever undock in null just like the last time and ppl like you would ask to revert it again cause there would be no targets to hunt.
I wasn’t on the CSM for Blackout, but from everything I saw, that was an experiment to see what would happen with no local. It wasn’t supposed to be permanent.
It’s funny that you mention the content expansions, because they moved away from that because the pace of developing Jesus features was taking so long that players were mad at the lack of updates, at least that’s what I seem to recall from back then.
Brisc is getting all 20 of my accounts votes for CSM after fixing my beautiful yacht! Brisc is the real hero in this forum!!
I’ve no objections with changing the cadence/pacing, if they were taking expansions akin to Into the Abyss / Apocypha which delivered new content and splitting them out over a series of quadrants I’d be a big fan, but what they’re doing is mostly tweaking existing content rather than producing something new.
In other words, I don’t care how you do it, whether big updates or small, just give me new content on par with the introduction of Wormhole space or Abyssals to pique my interest, not the trash indy, ratting, mining nerfs we’re being fed currently.
Glad to help.
Part of the problem is that because of the addition of a bunch of that stuff, they’ve got a lot of technical debt they need to pay off, and that makes adding a bunch of new stuff unlikely. I know folks want more content, but there’s been a ton of stuff added, while fixing old stuff has been kind of secondary.
I wish all the whiny people and the people who say things like “this is just to increase PLEX sales” would just quit the game already.
Is that really time well spent? Why spend so much time and effort changing titan industry for instance, when you could introduce mega titans at a far higher component price point to help deplete stockpiles whilst also feeling like something new for players to strive for etc
Entirely subjective and just my perspective, but old content doesn’t really hold much value to me, I’ve been playing for years and almost every current activity in game is boring. I’m desperate for something new to do. The new form of super ratting can’t come soon enough!
Preaching to the choir - that’s exactly what I wanted them to do, but they went this route instead.
Totally agree with you. Part of what makes Eve interesting is the fitting choice you have to make so that every advantage comes at a cost. When a module or mechanic does not provide a viable alternative, then the game is out of balance. CCP looked at ships like the T3’s that were getting away from gate camps and thinking that was a problem when that was actually the balance.
I also agree and have said as much to those working on this in CCP.
m
Agreed… Every single thing that CCP has done for the last year or so has produced a net effect of making the big power blocs larger and everyone else smaller. CCP is totally discriminatory against small corps/alliances and against solo players.
Further thoughts after wandering around in a few different ships and updating some fits: I JC between a handful of regions, losec and nullsec mostly (the hisec stuff isn’t so relevant in this context). In each area of operation there is a fleet of explo, mining/gas/ice, hauling and PvE ships, with an alt for scouting and PvE support. I have a few PvP ships but I’m crap at that, though I have been fairly good at avoiding it.
I’m used to the occasional buff/nerf changes which have required me to truck some new kit around, maybe affecting a few ships each time. No big deal though at times irritating (from a dodgy memory, I changed my Lokis to use 650mm instead of 720mm, just in time to find that I could fit 720s again - I think there is still at least one with 650s so I’m awarding myself a round tuit).
Now that I have had time to absorb these latest changes, it isn’t so awful for me - my non-PvX ships are weaker than they were , I will never take a DST into low or null again, the quick correction to yachts means my alt can still scout in null. What really gets my goat is that I now have a huge list of ships that require a refit - at a guess fifty or more, spread around New Eden. I have been concentrating on just one area for two days now and I’m barely half way through the refits there; this is going to take me weeks to address and in the meantime I am not being productive. The ISK lost, the ISK spent, isn’t such a big thing but the time I need to spend is ridiculous, when normally I could be mining/hacking the components you all need, teasing hunters, generally having a laugh. What will really piss me off is that once I am some way through all of this, a new change, maybe even a rollback or … oh no! … a change to cloaking … will mean I have to go round everywhere again before I can return to normal operation.
Really, these changes, whether good or bad in capsuleers’ eyes, have been far too much in one hit. By the way, can anyone find any “Restrained Interdiction Nullifier” BPs on the market? I can’t, so how do my Hounds take advantage of them - not that I would ever want to drop a bomb into your nullsec horde of mining drones just out of spite, honest.
These are just the thoughts of a small-scale operator - I dread to think what a headache this will be to larger corps with ship replacement schemes and such.
The release notes say that 'Passive nullification has been added to all shuttles."
In fact, this may or may not be true. The two faction shuttles; as well as, the Interbus and Leopard do not stat that they have nullification; whereas, the Apotheosis does state it is nullfied.
Make whatever changes you intended and either change the descriptions of those shuttles not yet stating they are nullified or update your release notes to state that those shuttles mentioned will not be nullified.
What would you like to bet that there are no Devs who have been around long enough to remember that these two shuttles even exist…
Maybe there should be factional stab.
Sisters or syndicate probably.
@Brisc_Rubal (cc’ing you in).
Can we get CCP to sort warp mechanics out as well. I’ve dealt with the nullification module, it’s fine, we evolve.
However, the issue I see if if you activate it mid-warp, it has zero effect if a bubble existed before you hit warp. This is how warps work, but it’s really apparent now. At least get them to disable the module mid-warp so you’re not lead down the merry path of ‘I’m safe’ to ‘how did i die’
WHY? It’s true. Why else would you, almost at the same time, do the following:
a) Increase material requirements for hulls.
b) Adopt changes that:
- Increases destruction in the game play environment, while also;
- Creating a manufacturing/supply chain bottleneck forcing mkt replacement
prices upwards?
Most people in this thread are focused on things like how it affects Inty and T3C hulls, and their viability, but this is an absolute train wreck for Indy. And before everyone starts shouting ‘BR, BR, BR!’, BR’s have roughly 23% of the hauling capacity of a DST. (13k and change vs. 60K)…Not only is hauling far more dangerous now, it requires more frequent trips to get what’s being produced out of an area. What I used to be able to haul from a reactions service Athanor in one trip now takes 4 on avg, assuming fully loaded in the BR. And I get nothing additional for the BR, never mind the now severely hampered Deep Hi-Sec Transport.
You can’t look at all of these changes as a whole and say it isn’t about boosting PLEX sales with a straight face, if you’re being honest. Hull prices will flat out double, if not go 2.5 to 3x, by the time the dust settles for all of this. You think nullblocs are going to suddenly start offering Wal-Mart discounts for their newly rare and harder to come by materials? How much will Hypernet relay costs go up? You have to buy like 1k of them now to list a fricken Thantos at fair current mkt values, can’t wait to see what it’ll require to list one once the ask prices go from 2.5-3 billion to 5-6.
Anyone that doesn’t see how this is going to play out isn’t thinking it through, they just want to catcall the people who do.
One more person relying on stabs for “safe” travel. Maybe you should finally learn how to use MWD+cloak trick and stop complaining?
“OH NO CCP DID A THING, IT’S ALL ABOUT PLEX!”
No, idjit, CCP decreased requirements for some, and increased requirements for others. This has nothing to do with PLEX. PLEX doesn’t give you materials. You can sell PLEX for ISK, but that ISK comes from other players. CCP doesn’t give you ISK for PLEX.
You’re literally tinfoil hatting.
BOOHOO
WTF does this have to do with PLEX?
Yes I can. You are literally spewing incoherent and unconnected nonsense and saying “PLEX! PLEX!” You should really sit down and shut your mouth because you sound, literally, ‘special’.
Thank you for telling me that, complety forgot about DTS
